Phoebe's Restaurant & Coffee Lounge
In the summer of 2004, Phoebe's experienced a refreshing makeover with a bright new look in the atrium dining room with fresh paint, new upholstery, and artwork. The coffee lounge also opened that year, and it became an instant hit with the surrounding university and business crowd. Those changes also warranted a new name to reflect the updated attitude and ambiance: Phoebe's Restaurant and Coffee Lounge. Classic elements of Phoebe's remain untouched—the French onion soup and enticing crème brulee, for example, but other menu items change seasonally.
The Lounge also has its own seating area and free wireless internet capabilities. Phoebe's old world charm is right at home in a revitalized area of the city.
Served with red sauce or butter
arborio rice, truffle butter, roasted mushrooms, spinach, mushroom-marsala wine sauce, baby arugula, asiago
Try the Summer Chicken Sandwich. Wow, peaches, smoked provolone, greens, herb aioli, grilled chicken. Fantastic! Great atmosphere and service.
First time there, so I was pleasantly surprised. Nice and quiet place to have a pleasant lunch. Food was very good and was priced accordingly. Definitely plan on returning though
loved everything. food was excellent and our waitress was very attentive
My daughter just graduated from SU and in 4 years we’ve gone to Phoebe’s more than a dozen times, and we’ve never been disappointed. The food, especially the French onion soup, is always fresh and well prepared. The service always friendly and attentive. It will be one of the things we’ll miss about Cuse.
I have been eating at Phoebe"s for over 40 years. I think they have just reopened after the pandemic. Our waitress was very attentive. The menu was limited. The pasta was rich and tasty as expected.
The wedge salad could have used more blue cheese dressing. My lunch companion really enjoyed her Phoebe's salad and black bean burger. They have appropriate social distancing and cleaning between customers.
We visited Phoebe's for late lunch / early dinner (3:45PM reservation) on Mother's Day. We were quickly seated and our drink order taken. Our meals, salmon and a shrimp pasta dish, were delicious. The salmon, although requested to be cooked through, was a bit undercooked. For desert we shared a fruit tart which was also good. Our waiter, Justin, was attentive without being overbearing yet another factor leading to the five star rating.
This restaurant is highly recommended.
Had a terrific brunch! There were 5 of us and everyone's food was great and the service on par. Atmosphere was lovely. Been going to Syracuse University area for 6 years and wish I would have found it earlier! Definitely going back!
My girlfriend and I enjoyed celebrating our two birthdays for lunch on Wednesday, May 5th. Our server, Katherine, was one of the best I have ever had at Phoebes! She provided great service, with so much grace and patience as my friend articulated all of her special dietary needs. A modified version of the Phoebe's Salad was created. The lunch I ordered, daily quiche, was delicious as always. It was a pleasure to return to this restaurant after so many months of not being able to do so. I was disappointed to learn they will not be opening for dinner again until the fall. So for now we will enjoy returning there for lunch several times this summer.
Food was delicious, especially the flatbread balsamic chicken, server was attentive but not intrusive. We will be back.
Bright and open space with great variety for food choices. Server was excellent and food very good.
We were next to a very loud table, but other than that, it was great
Stopped by for lunch. My friend had the salad special that came with skewered shrimp while I had the quiche that comes with a side salad. Everything was excellent, including the service. I am hoping this restaurant is fully reopened soon, as I am sure it has many fans in the Syracuse area.
We just love Phoebe's....love the food and the service! The ambience is very pretty too when we are seated in the "window" room. I have never had a bad meal or service and I have been going to Phoebe's over 20 years I believe.
Had Easter Brunch with friends. The food and service were excellent. The restaurant had diners well spaced out. We'll definitely go back!
We have loved dining at Phoebe's for quite awhile now. The food is always delicious and there was a special menu for Easter that did not disappoint.
Our server was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately we did not care for food.
lunch was very good and our waitress Emily was excellent
Excellent meals, with quick, responsive service.
Waiter forgot to charge us for one of the two desserts ordered so I'll be sending Phoebe's Restaurant and Coffee Lounge a check for the amount along with an additional tip.
Great place and great food. Really enjoy the brick on the inside as well as their diversity in the food
It was a bit chilly in restaurant. The hamburger was outstanding.
Great food, social distancing enforced well and a Randy was a great waiter. We will be back on our next visit.
Enjoyable dinner at Phoebe's! The hostess and servers are so nice and really went out of their way and made our experience that much better. Highly recommend!
The food was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will be making a point to come back to this restaurant. I had an amazing time!
Dinner was very good and the service was excellent !
Feels like home with a modern touch! Using seasonal and sustainable ingredients! Friendly and conscientious service!
Great atmosphere, super cute restaurant. Food was delicious and our server was knowledgeable. Can’t wait to go back.
Had lunch by myself. Service staff attentive and friendly. Food was very good and very relaxed environment. Would have lunch there again soon.
Great food, great place, great service.
Phoebe's never disappoints. The ambiance, food and service are always great. I gave four instead of five stars for food as the temperature was a tad cooler than I would have preferred. Because of COVID-19, the restaurant was not at all crowded, so I would have expected my dinner to be served much warmer than it was - close to room temperature.
This was my first dining experience since before the pandemic. It was outstanding!!
The service was fantastic and quick. I loved the atrium and the creme brulee was absolutely delicious!
The bread served prior to our meal was DIVINE!! Service was fantastic as well.
During this difficult time during the pandemic Phoebe’s was very proactive in taking extra measures for health safety. Paper menus were used and discarded after individual use and social distance was practiced by seating diners at alternating tables. And the meal was delicious.
My theater group LOVES Phoebe's! We go before every show. Wonderfully fresh food (we're very health conscious) and very creative use of ingredients. It is a remarkable setting with brick walls, vaulted ceiling and skylights, wood floors, a grand bar and lots of windows to the streets. The feeling is warm and expansive.
Phoebe's has a great menu selection that changes with the seasons.
Phoebe’s has for us been that outstanding go to place since the early 80’s. It does not disappoint. Consistent creative and great service.
food is fresh and tasty! Great drink specials as well!
Wonderful experience. The waitstaff was fantastic and it was the perfect place to bring out of state visitors!
