    Enjoyed our food, really tasty but a few bits of the service at a few points let it down during the course of the dinner. It started with initially not finding our booking, it seems that a member of staff had already sat someone down checking my name, but this wasn’t a massive issue as we were seated soon after. We ordered our drinks which was in a timely fashion, but weren’t brought the tap water which wasn’t until we’d reminded the servers towards the end of our meal. We’d also ordered two starters, and only one came out, we’d thought these simply arrive when they are ready and didn’t question it when the 1st starter did. When our mains came out, we mentioned this and the member of staff stated whether we’d still wanted it ( Beef Betel) or to take it off, which with our mains in front, we deemed it unnecessary to have a starter alongside. All food was really tasty and to be clear all staff also were incredibly friendly we interacted with so no criticisms there, simply a few little bits that really need to be polished to make it a great rather than standard visit. When the bill came, I was a little frustrated but the 12.5% service charge policy automatic, this should be option on the payment process, realistically I should have said less, but opted with a standard 10%, to which the server then adjust the bill. We did enjoy our meals, but I think with such a plethora of restaurants in York, competition being high, Pho should do their upmost to make sure the service is attentive as possible, and for them to achieve repeat business and happy customers.

    Poor on this occasion. Food ok, service very shoddy and waited over an hour for food. Not even that busy. Disappointing and wouldn’t recommend.

    Our first visit to Pho, sat at an outside table and ordered an apple and ginger cider. Starter of Prawn summer rolls followed by Beef brisket curry and jasmine rice. All were great. Excellent choice of GF and vegetarian dishes. Highly recommend.

    Service was good Starters very good but mains average. Spicy curry was too sweet. Spicy pho also lacked the spice.

    Only spoiled by a duo on the table next to us who felt that their conversation should be heard by the whole restaurant, one of whom didn’t just talk loudly, they shouted every word when there was absolutely no need to. Was really off putting.

    Exceeded our expectations. We LOVE Pho and thought nothing could beat our town Pho. This one is very good!! Highly recommended.
