Staff ...fabulous... engaging & fun! Food is excellent and the price is great!
A delicious lunch at a great value. Loved every dish.
There were 4 of us celebrating 2 birthdays. After waiting 30 minutes past our reservation, we were finally seated. We ordered the Salt and pepper lobster for 2 and the Maine Lobster & Hand-Pulled Noodles for two....We agreed that the Maine Lobster & Hand-Pulled Noodles was the favorite. We also had the chicken and steak lettuce wraps, which were ok and Special prawns which were very good. Our waiter was very attentive and accomidating.
Really good and really expensive, even for NYC. It's about 100 pp
Food was exquisite, cocktails were lovely, my only hangup is that I couldn't help but notice the service was rushed in the beginning of the meal before we ordered our food - waiter did not introduce himself at all and only seemed to warm up/come out of his shell once he knew we weren't wimping out on our spread. I swear I got a tiny nod of approval when I read off what we wanted from the menu. I did not come to this restaurant to impress the wait staff, like there should never be a situation where my relationship with the server is compromised before they've done anything for us.
100% going back ASAP though - Mr. Cheng's Noodles, the Sea Bass, and the Curried Chicken are legends in their own right, I simply can't get enough.
We got there on time for our 11:00pm reservation. As soon as we got there and sat down the waiter came with some water and then told we gotta order quickly because the kitchen is gonna close soon! I was like understood but you’re literally rushing us out! He rushed us to order, didn’t check on us once, then rushed us to pay.
Only upside the food was good.
Over priced Chinese food! Server wasn’t on point with my service! I had to catch his attention anytime I needed something.
Food was excellent. This is my third time and have a great time everytime.
I went for birthday brunch. The scallion pancakes were very fresh and crispy and the crispy beef was a good balance of crispy with a sticky sauce. Really good meal.
My friend and I had pork soup dumpling, stir fried veggie, roast pork butt, chicken satay, and peking roast duck. Peking roast duck is authentic and great, definitely worth the trip and waiting time in Manhattan. Chicken satay is good. Everything else is only, or even below average. But since the goal of the trip is see if Philippe makes authentic peking duck, the experience is still positive.
Had to wait 10min pass my reservation time but the manager was quick to find seating in tge private dining room. Food was amazing service was great definitely one of my favorite places to eat.
Okay meal. Did not cook steak as ordered, had to send back twice. But not bad
The food was delicious! My only negative is that the tables are so close together it's hard to have a personal conversation. But, I am definitely coming back to this restaurant!
Food tasted like they burned the pot, and it was extremely rushed. I would not go back! The waiters had a hard time speaking English and communicating, they switched shifts and didn’t let us know.
Drinks and food were both amazing. You definitely get your money worth on the drinks.
Food was great service was ok i don’t like how they make you feel rushed! It’s like hurry up and eat then go! Extremely loud place next time i rather get my food to go!
Philippe Still Rocks ! Best Overall Chinese in NYC. Had just a splendid meal Saturday night. Perfection all the way through each dish. Staff was great everywhere but Special Props to the hostess and to Nick (the well seasoned waiter).
We can't wait to come back. Thank You for a wonderful meal and evening.
Food is always on point. Everything is good and I mean everything. Service from bartender was good but not stellar. Hostesses were okay. Food is the reason to go. You will pay for it but it’s well worth it in my opinion because I can’t get this stuff anywhere else. Chicken jo lau, Beijing chicken , crispy beef, all the Satay, walnut shrimp and the duck. I wanna order it all. Must try this place.
It was very good service excellent and food was great
Food was good. Sweet and sour chicken and shrimp fried rice(YUM!). We had early reservations and were ushered to the back room where the “vibe” was lacking. The tables were too close. We heard the conversations at the tables beside us on either side. We tried to talk but it was too loud. The couple beside us were uncomfortable too. One two-top table less would have made a huge difference in our dining experience. I would go back but get a better table in the front room. The wait staff was friendly and efficient!
Please do not waste your time coming here. The food is not all that for the price. The noise is crazy, everyone is practically screaming very loud there. I was sat between a couple that was arguing the whole time i was there. The only good thing was the dessert.
Good food, good service. Though this time the steak was not cooked the way we liked & the seating choice was not good because the restaurant was trying to put the families with kids all together upstairs while the fun was downstairs. That didn’t sit well with us at all.
Had a great time the crispy duck was excellent and the cotton candy Alaskan was delicious 😋
Food was excellent!! We went in for lunch and had the price fixe..lettuce wraps, chicken satay(a must), velvet chicken, beef, and the brownie with coconut sorbet, and strawberries for dessert. Highly recommend going to this restaurant while in NYC.
The night was perfect at Philippe. It was all I imagined and more. My boyfriend enjoyed his bday we’ll definitely be back.
Great food quick service happy atmosphere
Lettuce wraps crispy beef and white shrimp. All delicious.
Food, decor and service were very good. Did feel a bit rushed. But worth the trip. I would return. Suggestion to future diners, order drinks and appetizers and wait to order main courses. That way, the restaurant can't rush you though your meal.
Birthday of my cousin
Cozy, great service, amazing pastry chef. Adored the fancy cotton candy.
My daughter and I have dined here on several occasions. It was a first for our friends. They loved all of it, from the chicken wraps, crispy beef, sweet and sour prawns, Peking duck to the baked Alaska! Phiippe is the best for Asian cuisine. Five star!
Loved it. It was a pleasant experience. I always dine here. Food is exceptional
Always a great dining experience when I go to the New York and Miami locations.
Always a great meal here. We love the chicken satay, crispy beef and the Beijing chicken.
Every time we visit New York we always visit this restaurant and it never disappoints, food is outstanding
Can’t wait till next time
Don’t expect your reservation to mean anything. We booked for 9 pm and waited 35 minutes before getting seated. The hostess had attitude when I asked how long it would take. If you are that full then remove your open time slots on opentable. Poor management all around. The food is delicious but not worth the disorganized mess of the host with take out orders. PS. A family had to wait over an hour when they had a reservation.
Very standard, nothing special, great service but food wasn’t spectacular
Very nice restaurant, some of the meal was great, some less so. Great service except that the 3 things I ordered came out in fairly rapid succession. Too quickly. Even after I indicated my preference.
It was wonderful..best chicken satay on earth
Food was okay, wait was horrible!!!! reservation was for 9pm didn’t get seated until 10.... customer service horrible. Bar area is super small and walk way passed bar is extremely unrealistic.
Amazing!!!! i've been here several times and it never disapoints! can't wait to come back!
