It wasn’t the usual Philippe experience. My party felt rushed and not valued. Customer service definitely needs improvement especially during these times. I honestly don’t feel as if I got a mutual exchange.
Delicious dinner, wonderful service!!!
Have the lettuce wraps to start. Then drunken sea bass amazing or crispy duck Great cocktails and music Great fun
The food is delicious as always , and our waiter was 👍🏾 great
One of my favorite restaurants food is so good!
We have always enjoyed the restaurant very much. We thought that the outside space was comfortable interesting and creative. However the music was too loud. The food and service was very good!
First time experience was ok!!!!! I thought it was a little pricey but the food was great!!!!!!!
Consistently great food, ambience and service. Love this place
Service and Food A1!!!!
Serving size and quality was great!
An overall lovely experience, will definitely be back.
Great service and amazing food. Indoor dining was available
I went there for a birthday dinner and I was please with the whole service from beginning to end
It was my first time there and I most say the staff is amazing
My birthday dinner was amazing, even though we’re living through a pandemic Philippe Chow has done its best to maintain its quality!
Best food I had in a long time...It's a must place to visit.. Planning on going again soon!.. Indoor dining is great!
Quick Service pleasant Host. Nice ambiance. Loved the food. Enjoyed the place!
This was our first time dining at Philippe Chow. The food was outstanding and very nicely presented. The service was very good and the waitstaff was attentive. We dined outside and this is the reason for my rating. While the tables were very nicely and elegantly set, the rest of the ambience was bland and unimaginative.
I feel they could adorn the outdoor space in a more creative and welcoming manner. Overall our experience was positive and I highly recommended this restaurant.
The dessert seemed a little stale but everything else was exceptional!
If you cannot order the Peking Duck, go with the Crispy Duck as a substitute. It was a great recommendation by our waiter and it was spot on.
A delicious dinner with attentive service & a pleasant atmosphere
Look forward to going back many more times
Great food and service. Glad we were able to pre order the pecking duck as it is a must.
Great food ,great atmosphere, wonderful customer service
Had my birthday dinner here with a few girlfriends. It was amazing.
The location was empty due to covid, there were dividers up between tables however I feel that we could have been more spaced out.
I love this place excellent service and atmosphere..
Have to do again and again ! Love this place it’s a must eat !
Only bad part was that there wasn’t any desserts because they didn’t have a pastry chef
The service and food was very good. Due to the current state our country eating outside was not so great. The night got rather cold and although my party and I would have loved to stay and complete our meals and have dessert, we decided to end the night earlier due to the cold weather. One of the waiters did alert us to the fact they have ordered heaters but it has been a delay. All and all we have a GOOD time! .
My overall experience was amazing. The waiter was extremely friendly and nice, and the food was great.
PHILIPPE CHOW UPTOWN SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO HAVE OUT/INDOOR DINING FOR UNTIL THEY KNOW HOW TO PROPERLY RUN THE BUSINESS!!!
I made a DINE-IN reservation for my BFF's birthday. We reached the restaurant BEFORE our scheduled reservation time, and was told that because they let WALK-INs sit INDOOR (instead of OUTSIDE), and that since there were no two-top tables available, we would only be allowed to dine OUTSIDE, or wait OUTSIDE on line for up to 2hours--IT WAS 50 DEGREES at 6 in the EVENING. I then asked my BFF "what she would like to do" (since it was her day), and she decided to be seated outside. When we asked to use the restrooms to wash our hands, we noticed there were a PLETHORA of two-top tables available, and the restaurant was so empty, that there was no way they were at maximum capacity.
As we were seated, we ordered our food right away, but had to return at least 3 items because the food was either too salty, or came too late (our appetizers got to the table long after our entrees). Our waiter kept coming to our table with requests from another table, and he also was very apologetic to us about our experience stating VERBATIM "so sorry but the kitchen and staff is really a mess tonight, I do apologize".
I understand in these unprecedented, heavily impacted businesses such as restaurants are doing the best with what they can, but I did not expect this from a restaurant of this "caliber". Secondly, if customers are RESERVING tables, walk-ins should not be allowed the option to be seated INSIDE over reserved guests. Lastly, if they're truly considering outdoor dining in NYC in the MIDDLE OF WINTER, then they need to spend more money on preparing the outdoor setup! There were cars parking within inches of guests with no barriers; exhaust from cars were blowing in guests face; there were cheap plexiglass dividers between tables that wobbled whenever the wind blew (that weren't wide enough); not to mention it was FREEZING AND THERE WERE NO HEAT LAMPS!!!
Food was cold..everyone dish came after each instead of together..my son steak was not well done as requested...and was told it won't be ready until another 20 mins ..I had to give my son my food ..and I wasn't able to eat
The food and service was good but very overpriced.
Great food and vibes all around. Definitely a must try for special occasions or visit to NYC.
Great food great drinks I will definitely recommend this restaurant to friends and family
Best food ever. Food was amazing I love that place and the manager is very professional
Very good food and service, looking forward to coming back again!!
I am a frequent at Philippe, both uptown and downtown, for years now. Last night I had a reservation made well in advance and waited over 20 min for a table when there were many empty tables. The hostesses were very, very rude and it seemed like they forgot about us waiting because they seated another party of 2 right away while we stood there. We only got seated because I went up to them and said something, otherwise I’d probably still be standing on the street waiting for my table. I just wonder what’s the point of making a reservation if you’re going to have to wait and be forgotten about and spoken rudely to by staff. Once seated everything was delightful, as always, the food was fantastic and the servers are very attentive and sweet.
Late afternoon RSVP after an office visit -- Great service and an unexpected menu of quality good tasting dishes. Although there are social distancing mandates around New York City the restaurant still is open and serves their dinner menus.
They need to put back the dress code its very ghetto now
Overall my time there was well spent, the food is slightly overpriced but the wait time is very minimum and ambiance is decent.
Our reservation was at 9pm, the kitchen was closing at 10 pm abs the server was rushing us! We have been there so many times and this time, it was not enjoyable.
The food runners had way more manners than the server
