Noodles were dry and the special dessert I ordered in advance had some hiccups.
Philippe Chow EXCEEDED my expectations! The food was flavorful, delicious, and portioned very well. I had to wrap up everything including dessert, so much left over and I didn’t want anything to go to waste, The ambiance was warm and the energy was lively. Definitely will visit again!
I wish I could eat here every day
The lettuce cups are my favorites-the service is so nice you feel like you are on vacation
very good fusion food. A bit heavy on hoisin on a lot of dishes but controlled. excellent service
Nice place and recommended
Chicken satay is fantastic, as are crispy beef and Beijing chicken! The food is all wonderful, you can’t go wrong!!!
It’s restaurant week and also my nephew’s birthday just passed a couple weeks ago so I decided to take him to Philippe. Never been there before but the reviews were so good I figured we test it out. The service from beginning to end was very courteous, helpful fast. They didn’t miss a beat with the service. Each course was replaced by the next just as soon as we were finished. They even put a sparkler candle in my nephew’s dessert and sang happy birthday. It was a good night.
Our waiter was nice and attentive. Food was nice and tasty. It was my sons birthday I bought a cake they put sparklers on it and make it nice. It was a good time
The staff was beyond RUDE BEYOND RUDE AND UNACCOMMODATING. The food was a porr substitute for MR. CHOW. We were celebrating my niece's birthday there with a party of 7. It was during a thunderstorm and less than half our party was delayrd due to thw storm. I called the maitrr d to ask her to seat those who'd already arrived because they were going to order for the table explaining that we were unexpectedly delayed because of the storm. The woman simply hung up on me! My nephew in the meantime mentioned to the same woman that it was a special bday and just for this jnstance could they go ahead and seat and she again was rude. He had also mentuoned that he would like a bday cake for the bday girl at dessert time. Not only was this request was completely ignored, the table of 12 just next to us had the loudest bday raucous presentation so close to us it reminded me of a 3 ring circus --- in such cramped quarters. Beyond obnoxious and completely unacceptable. I have ever experienced thsi kid of disregatd for other paying customers!!!! Especially sonce they chose to ignore our simple request for a small cake or piece of cake with candle for our bday girl. Then, when I gave my cc to pay for the bill which was quite hefty (as expected), the waiter, in his incomparably classy way, came back and announced to the entire table that the card was declined. When I said that that was impossible, he said 'oops perhaps I misunderstood and there needs to be a pin number put in?!' When I went back with him to put in the code I thanked him for peesenting the perfect way to embarass me for hosting for a dinner party there! He didnt apologize and just shrugged and said we are very busy!"
Not only do I NOT recommend this restaurant I slam it for its staff's arrogance and unprofessionqlism. The russian beauties they've hired as maitre d's are so full of themselves one can only think: what can expect from 2 bit Russian gold diggers?
Good food & super friendly waitstaff. The food has an American flair - with dishes crafted for American palates. I would definitely go again!
The Restaurant Week lunch was very tasty. I love the seaweed with candied walnuts as a starter. The service was polite and helpful. This is a wonderful place for lunch (and dinner).
Always ask to go downstairs!!
Good food but overpriced small portions . They should at least give rice with every dish
The crab legs were clearly frozen. Fried rice was overdone. Sparkling rose was flat. Broccoli was soggy. Lettuce wraps were just OK. Tab was a little under 150 bucks. I don’t know how that place stays in business because I won’t be going back and it surprises me that they’re such a following On social media.
Friendly staff and great food
Great experience food and service was great. Small and elegant spot.
The food was to die for. My significant other and I came from Long Island just to go here. Very unique flavors that you may have never had before. Happy hour is awesome and cheap for the quality of food. Servers were excellent as well. Definitely will be returning!
Loved every second of Philippe. Highly recommend. AMAZING food, good drinks & pristine service. 10/10
Took my lady there for her birthday and we loved it ! Food was GREAT ! And the dessert was amazing ! Definitely a place to go if you haven’t before.
I love Phillippe-the food is so delicious. The service is attentive and stealthy.the price fix menu for lunch is a great value and a nice way to try something new.
The crispy beef and the lettuce wraps are amazing.
It is a perfect place
The food was delicious!
Don't understand all the good reviews, average Chinese food n way over priced
From the first drink to the last bite. EVERYTHING was GREAT!
Food was Awesome
Restaurant week lunch was a pleasant experience. Menu was well thought out, choices abundant, and ultimately, portions were generous. Service was attentive, if a bit stiff [or hesitant?] and seated in the back room spared us from the noisier area of the restaurant. The food afforded no surprises, but was tasty nevertheless. [The bathroom could have used a freshening].
I had been to Philippe for a friend's birthday party years ago and was so looking forward to taking my parents who were visiting from out of town. I wanted to treat them to a elegant dinner at an upscale NYC restaurant.
The food was absolutely tasteless, deep fried, full of caramelized sugar; and the service- not the best.
Disappointing to say the least......especially the food. I will not go back anytime soon if ever :-(
The staff was 1st class all the way. I took Japanese clients for a different experience and they were very pleased. Not only with the quality of food but also with the quality of service. Thanks for a beautiful dinning experience.
Terrible place to go...staff was so rude, we got up and left!!!
Hands down the best Peking duck we have ever had. The food was great and the drinks were awesome, highly recommend
My second time at Phillipes and the food and service was amazing. Took my beautiful fiancé out for a dinner date and she loved it! I can’t wait to go again and try some of the other menu options.
Very nice food and service excellent pricey though but NYC drinks were not ordinary save your money and go enjoy
Amazing! Highly recommended. Went twice in a 1 week stay.
Amazing food & service. Great drinks
Phillips was good. No complaints.
Love this place. Great seating for a group, the food is excellent. Size of portion very good and price good
Staff very nice and. Accommodating.
I honestly expected a lot more from this place based on pricing, then I saw sneakers and jeans and baseball caps and thought WTF. Some things just shouldn't be allowed when a place is considered fine dining. The service, however is impeccable, food was good, but I've had better. Overall a good place to go for a casual outing. If you're looking for more of the wow factor, I'd go to Buddakan or even Tao if you don't mind the noise level.
Good food and service. But watch out for the prices of the cocktails. Extremely expensive. Not to mention that you pay 5-6 dollars for a soft drink..No refills of course.
It was difficult to maintain a conversation because of the constant interruptions. Before we finished one entree the waiters were placing another entree on the table. There was several attendees/waiters/servers assigned to our table. This posed an issue bc when one inquired if anything was needed another one would immediately followed up w the same question. This made our experience feel rushed, impersonal and brash. We tried to laugh it off and maintain our conversation to no avail. To compule on to the above issue the food was surprisingly sub par. Definitely not a good spot for a 1st date!!!!
the restaurant was full and appeared very popular. the decor was simple and basic. the dishes were very nice. the hand pulled noodles were very good as was the chicken satay appetizer. It was best to share the dishes for trying the food. the main entrees were tasty. the lichee ice cream and the brownie dessert really topped off the meal. Overall it was a positive experience.
Food was great but bus boys were hovering over us almost rushing us to finish. It was uncomfortable. Overall food and dessert was great so I’d try it again.
