    I have always been a Philippe M fan and have been to all of his previous restaurants. His food is always beautiful with fantastic ingredients and (I think, authentically French) with just a little surprise here and there. We were not disappointed when four of us dined there and each of had a marvellous meal with not a single grumble! Service excellent.

    We decided to have our end of year Christmas celebration at Philippe, hidden down a Melbourne laneway just off Collins Street and we were treated to a delightful authentic classic French dinner. The food was impeccably cooked and presented whilst the service was faultless, unpretentious and most attentive. I ordered the Tin of CuCa Artisan bonito in olive oil, a novel and delicious hors d'oeuvre, followed by the lamb that was superb it was so tender, accompanied with the potato fries which were delicious. For my final course, I ordered the selection of 3 cheeses which were divine, so smooth and such flavoursome cheeses. We loved the casual yet refined ambience and will return again.

    A lovely dinner with great food and drinks, and attentive service. The ambience was not really intimate, very buzzy and a little noisy, and the food came very quickly so it felt a little rushed. But on the whole it was very satisfying.

    My son and I had a delicious meal. Food was fresh and beautifully presented. Great value for money. Staff were most attentive and very helpful with suggestions. Most enjoyable atmosphere. Rooms are very inviting and warm. Cannot wait to go again. Would recommend to all my friends and family.

    I had been told Philippe's was the place to go and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing. All courses were delicious and between the two of us we could not fault any of the dishes. The staff were very attentive, probably too attentive. Each course arrived quickly, too quickly for us as we like a break between courses. Overall, definitely an enjoyable evening and we will definitely be back.

    Always love eating at Philippe. Authentic honest French bistrot cuisine. Wine a bit pricey but good quality.

    Service. Just when you think it has vanished from Australian restaurants, we find this gem. The service was even better than the tremendous food. I can't remember the last time I said that in AU. Service was perfect, not because there were not small mistakes, but because they were fixed without having to ask and with genuine, authentic courtesy. Will be back next time in Melbourne.
