First time for a meal (midweek) since the recent change of ownership. We liked the hotel before but had only been for drinks not food. Service and appearance of the hotel is still excellent and the food we really good. I have the vegan choice and the home made burger was one of the best I have had. Small but well chosen wine List: the Rioja we had was as described and very nice. When the bill came we were pleasantly surprised. Will be back.

Very good from start to finish. Staff welcoming and friendly, helpful and attentive without too much busy-ness. Decor and furnishing pleasant and easy to relax in, cleanliness and arrangement excellent. Food very good indeed.

Last minute booking at the end of our holiday. I wished we had gone earlier. It was a lovely meal in great surroundings with very pleasant and helpful staff. I am a coeliac and I had plenty of choice for my meal. If I get the chance again I will return without a doubt.

Nice friendly staff, very good food and service. No great ambience in the restaurant but it was fine. We sat in front of fire exit windows that people went behind our table to exit to smoke. I was surprised this was allowed and it was quite annoying, and on a cold night would have been unacceptable. Overall though, very satisfied with our evening.

Went for a late birthday meal food superb steak cooked exactly to our liking and melted in your mouth ,staff very friendly will definitely go back only down side pricy but what do you expect for good quality food

We had a lovely meal in the Philipburn and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The dining area was really clean and decor good. The food was of excellent quality and portion size was very good too. We will definitely go back afain
