Phat Fish was conceived from a our passion to create a beautiful bar, welcoming of every single person, where we can all comfortably settle in and enjoy each other’s company over glass of wine or a nice cold beer. Our drinks menu offers some of the finest Tasmanian boutique spirits, great craft beer and classic favourites alike.

In the kitchen, Chef Henry’s passion for quality and perfection shines in the brilliantly curated menu that includes classic comforts such as fish and chips or Tasmanian scallops and chips, but also plenty of other menu items you will be less likely to find elsewhere. When creating a dish, Henry is extremely conscious of where his ingredients come from and the impact they have on our environment, and it is because of the consciousness that we use only fresh, line-caught fish in our fish and chips and we source our produce from local areas wer

Phat fish has an interesting menu with options for whole table sharing of huge meal spread out on newspaper to much smaller plates. Friend and I did not share, we chose the prawn taco which we both liked alot , 2 well cooked prawns on a salad stuffed into a soft taco, delish. I followed with the scallop dish which had a cauliflower puree and chat potatoes with the half dozen scallops on top. Though well cooked I felt it needed some flavour contrast to give it a bit of zing and some colour contrast to brighten up what was essentially a yellow plate. Sadly there were only a few other customers which is a shame as I think this place offers a nice change to the Salamanca offerings. Give it a try people!

Very trendy place with great decor, atmosphere and the lunch deal on a Wednesday was great. They were also very kind and treated us to a dessert for my mum’s bday, which made her feel very special! Thanks so much! Would recommend as a great place to meet friends for a drink and some good food.

Very nice place to eat after a long shopping morning at the Salamanca market. The bartender asked us to come to the bar and place our order. Very nice guy but inconvenient. Would rather have a waitress take our order at the table. Fish and chips are excellent. Would go there again

Great food and even though it's a pub, the place was actually quiet enough for our group to have a conversation. Service was great too.
