Our server was excellent, very knowledgeable of the menu and very helpful, I really liked my drink we order two appetizers and a pizza and everything was very tasty. Price wise I think is a little on the high side. Will be back
Liked the food for the most part but the entrees seemed to be lacking flavor. The staff was wonderful, and the overall experience was good.
Disappointing— we were seated near kitchen and it was so smoky from kitchen that we had to leave early because our eyes were watering and stinging. They were out of wines on the wine list and our server was unable to recommend comparable alternatives. Service was so-so and my salmon dish was bland. The fondue appetizer was great. But the overall feel of the place was more shabby than chic. Not the romantic anniversary dinner we had hoped for.
The 1930's and 1940's come alive with a trip to Pharmacy! The music, the drinks, the food, and most of all the atmosphere and all you need are the clothes to make the evening complete. Great evening to have a special time with friends and family!
Crowd can be very loud, but if you’re prod for that, this is a great spot. Craft cocktails to suit any taste and a fresh and interesting menu.
Pharmacy is a favorite spot for my husband and I so we decided to enjoy our anniversary dinner here. We always find the drinks to be unique and creative and the food to be flavorful and beautifully presented. They were preparing to roll out their holiday 2018 prix fixe menu, and we were able to try it! So incredible! The tomato and lobster bisque soup was silky and well balanced with flavor. The braised beef oxtail was one of my favorite dishes of the night.
Slightly challenging to find, in the speakeasy tradition, Pharmacy was a welcome relief from Orlando’s relentless chain restaurants. On point craft cocktails paired with generous portions of equally meticulous food.
Drinks & Desserts were exceptional. Entres were good, but I’d probably call them just ok.
Went for the roaring 29's gala. Had a blast all dressed up. A secret gem. The food is delicious.
Cool little spot with a good vibe. Drinks were top notch. The appetizers were very good but the pork chop was disappointing (it was overcooked). Wait staff was very attentive.
It was a very interesting meal. I would recommend more vegetarian items. The food was delicious but pricey.
Interesting place. Hard to find without help. No signage. We went with other family members and tried several appetizers. The lime chicken bites were the tastiest. The broccoli raab was very bitter. My daughter loved the cheesy hush puppies, great for kids. Bruschetta was ok. We all enjoyed the fondue. This was a sizeBle portion and the bread was very good. The green beans had a kick to it. Wedge salads were very generous portions. We didn’t bother with cocktails. We thought 30.00 for a drink was a bit ridiculous. Server said they had homemade root beer but when she asked the bar tender he confessed he didn’t make any for Saturday night. He seemed annoyed we didn’t want a cocktail.
Entree wise we had the fried chicken which was enough to share. It was nearly half a chicken. The brined pork chop was very large and my sister in law said it was good. The collard greens were average and not as savory as one would expect. We also had the pork ropa viejo. The sauce was really good, but the meat was not pulled apart it would be traditionally served. I didn’t like the sweet mash below it. It was an odd paring. However that jicama was a nice touch.
We didn’t order dessert. We were too full from all the appetizers.
First of all - we couldn’t find it! There were also other people wandering around trying to find it, and had to have someone come out to meet them. There seems to be only one sign pointing you in the direction, but after that there’s nothing. I won’t spoil it for others who may not have been there, but it is very well hidden .... and don’t look for a sign that says Pharmacy above it because there isn’t one!! It was smaller inside than I expected, and very buzzy, but not too noisy that you couldn’t hear yourself. The drinks menu is a bit strange - I hadn’t heard of hardly anything on it, so had to ask advice from our waiter. Nonetheless, my drink was nice, a good measure and one was enough to keep me going throughout the meal. The dining menu is fairly small and I would say is a reasonable selection, except if you don’t eat meat! The only vegetarian option was a pizza - which happened to not be available on the night we went. Also no main course fish on the menu. However, everybody’s food looked fantastic and were good sized portions. I can highly recommend the bread pudding creme brûlée for dessert, which was absolutely delicious, but I could have done with more of it!! On the whole, the experience here was good and I would recommend it, but unlikely that I would pay another visit due to the very limited menu for non-meat eaters
Very hard to find as no signs and security guard wouldn’t tell us. Finally called and they directed us to an elevator like opening which was the door.
Simply amazing!! The best restaurant I’ve been to in Orlando!!
The food was very good--particularly the meatball appetizer! The cocktail menu was very authentic and creative. The service was also very good.
Terrible service, very inexperienced. For the price, I expected a lot better service and more seasoned waiters and hosts.
Food was decent but expected better for the price.
Drinks were good.
Much of the food was good to very good. Really enjoyed the fries, meatballs, wagyu burger and bone marrow. The Bolognese was tasty but could have been more flavorful. There were two things which made this a “no go” in the future: the single minded focus on “craft” and two meals were served after everyone else had finished and received to go bags. Trying to order cocktails was extremely wearisome and in the end you didn’t get what you wanted - that goes for the wine as well. Why not offer both? There were 10 of us and two of us weren’t served their meal at the same time. Eventually we asked and were told that they were working on it - minutes pass by and we stopped the waiter again and he said to be honest he didn’t know when it would be served and other patroons ordering the pork verde were in the same boat. Knowing that the dish takes hours to cook it mystified is. Others finished their meals and the waiter stopped by and asked the two unlucky guests if they wanted to keep waiting, order something else or he could remove it from the bill - we were taken aback. Normally a manager would come but one was never offered or came to the table. About 5 more minutes passed and the meal arrives - tasting nothing like the description - they simply boiled the pork just to have it ready - and no apologizes. Really made all of our dining experience awe full despite some highlights.
The service was horrible. We never received one of our appetizers until after our entrees came, even though 2 tables around us that sat down after us received that appetizer before us. But we were brought three of another appetizer at different times when we only ordered one. The entrees didn't come out together. A manager never came to the table to address our issues. At the end, our checks were wrong, and we were charged for an extra appetizer and an extra drink. By the end of the night, our server seemed like he was drunk and had no idea what he was doing. On top of that, the noise level was ridiculous and we couldn't even talk to each other. Even though the quality of food was very good, it was an overall horrible experience.
From finding the entrance to learning about the drink varieties, every part of the restaurant was intriguing, fun, and the food memorable! Can't wait to return!!!
What a strange experience
Pharmacy has a great menu and the crafted cocktails are fabulous....all in all a great dining experience!
I wanted to like this place bc it was good when I went for our Elite Yelp event however, it was a disappointment for Magical Dining! For starters you had to ask for the Magical Dining menu. I prefer for you to present all your options to me and let me decide.
Service: Great Waitress. Wait time for food and drinks were a little excessive.
Drinks: Eccentric (Their own house liquor and sodas so you're taking a gamble each order) My Blond Honey was good. Strong but sweet!
Food this visit:Mediocre and I'm being nice (Good, Lobster and Corn Roll, Good, Creme Brûlée Bread Pudding). I sent my entree back bc it was taste less. It was tender but lacked any flavor or seasoning. I was disappointed bc this was the item that they waitress stated "everyone liked and didn't send back". I couldn't exchange this entree bc of the NO substitution policy for MD. So, they offered later to take off $12 for the entree.
Would I Re-Visit: NO!! It's a cool one time visit spot. Their prices just don't align with the quality of food and drink that you receive.
We followed through with our reservation despite reading several negative reviews. We found the restaurant to be very cool and the food delicious. I think you just have to be mentally prepared for this type of restaurant experience. Louder, tighter Kinda like what I imagine a speakeasy was like?
Loved that this is a literal hidden gem. The ambiance inside is nice and very comfrtable and well themed. I enjoyed being sble to have a conversation while enjoying other guests around. We were Sat immediately, but nobody waited on us for almost 20 min. We were sitting right next to the door and host stand and saw our server walk by us several times. He claims he didn't see us, Adam was our server. Our service after that was flawless and the food was delicious. I was happy that this place particupated in magical dining because now i will go back and try some other creative cocktails and tasty bites.
We are in town for Magical Dining. We mistakenly made a reservation at this restaurant and spoiled what could have been a wonderful evening. The food was horrific! The very, very small martini was $15. Service was poor - entree's brought out over 5 minutes apart. My husband said this restaurant was giving sous vide a bad name! Never go here - there are so many other choices!
Went to Pharmacy Orlando as part of the Magical Dining experience and was delightfully surprised. Everything I ordered, the octopus salad appetizer, salmon entree and triple berry custard cobbler was DELICIOUS. I was so full, and have been craving the octopus salad ever since.
I didn't understand the seating arrangements, and will definitely go with a larger group next time so I don't have to share a table with strangers. Also will go earlier since the restaurant gets loud the busier they get, almost had to yell at my friend across the table from me. But overall, great experience! And I love the secret doorway!
Chef Loren & team makes some of the most delicious creative food in Orlando! It is always a heavy favorite for me!
My husband and I went for Magical Dining. I was super impressed with the food! The ropa vieja was the best I have ever had. The desserts were delicious, especially the creme brulee/bread pudding combo. But I was a little disappointed to learn the portion of this dessert is shrunk for Magical Dining. But I look forward to returning and ordering the full portion off the regular menu! The restaurant is hard to find (because it is a hidden speak easy) and the chairs are very uncomfortable, but the food is so worth it! We did not try the drinks, but the drink menu looked very interesting.
We went with another couple for Orlando Magical Dining, chosen because of the interesting menu. We weren't disappointed. We had the lobster and octopus for starters, braised pork and salmon for entrees, and cobbler and bread pudding for desserts. Also ordered their fabulous sour dough bread, along with a bottle of wine. All were excellent, along with the service. Magical Dining lasts through the whole month of September, and is well worth doing, if not this year, then certainly future ones.
We went to Pharmacy for Orlando's Magical Dinning. Food was delicious but service seriously lacked. We were seated at a table with other (unknown) diners. Additionally, our entries (which were the same) came out almost 10 minutes apart and our deserts came with spoons which were too big to fit in the dish...
As I am pregnant, I did not get to try the interesting and varied cocktails, but my husband had 2 and enjoyed them both. The food, however was amazing! The ropa vieja was juicy and tender and the boniato puree paired well. I loved the creme brulee bread pudding as well. Not too sweet and a perfect ending to a great meal.
Fantastic ambiance, inventive food, superb on both wine and cocktails.
We were seated and waited about 6 minutes for a waitress to hand us a menu (did not offer the Magical Dining menu) and told us she didn't know whose table we were but she could get us a drink. They do not have any recognizable gin, and the recommended one was awful. She came back and said she would wait on us as our waiter was too busy. It's Wednesday, folks, and the place was not full... I tried the marrow bones, they were good, $18 for one leg and three small round bones - quite pricey. Date had Magical Dining and the octopus salad was hotter than a jalepeno (not in description) and the salmon was bland. It was full of extremely noisy people shouting and drinking. Not a place for dining. I did enjoy the manhattan. Not worth the $100 for an appetizer two drinks and one $30 meal.
Amazing lobster and crab roll. Fried chicken app was delicious. Loved the brisket tacos. Salmon was good and presentation of it was cool.
The back room was quieter than the front room. But front room seemed more fun.
The drinks were creative and strong. Loved the different stemware they used.
Food was very tasty and attractively priced. Love the atmosphere. Will go back many times.
Super disappointed with the experience. My husband had weight loss surgery and has lost 125 lbs. we split meals now since he doesn’t eat much. Well not at Pharmacy. We were not able to enjoy the magical dining menu.
Portions were very small. Dessert was sloppy.
I would not return.
Unfortunately we had a bad experience this time. We usually recommend the pharmacy whenever we have friends from out of town as a place to go if they are looking for a local option to all the chain restaurant we have in Orlando, but this time the service was pretty bad, we ordered the Orlando Magical Dinning menu and after a while the waiter come back to tell us they did not have it any more. We had to ask to refill the water glasses and wait and wait. The food wasn't bad but didn't merit a reference. Hope they can do better next time.
Very disappointed in food quality, drinks and was over priced. Only thing good was dessert.
Upon being seated on a Saturday at 6pm, we waited 15 minutes for our drink order to be taken. We ordered our appetizer, I took one bite, a bug crawled from under the food. After showing the waiter the bug, I waited for the shock, that myself and my husband shared. There was no shock. She simply stated, I can bring you another.
Who wants more food, after consuming a piece of food and seeing a live bug? So, we said we didn't want the replacement appetizer or food that we ordered. There greatest concern, was ensuring that the order was cancelled in the kitchen. I had no problem paying for our drinks; however, there was no offer of apology. I wouldn't even recommend this place to an enemy.
Extremely Disappointed on my husband's 41st B-day
