P.F. Chang's - Kansas City
With roots in Chinese cooking, the culinary landscape at P.F. Chang’s now stretches across Asia with diverse, culturally inspired recipes including hand-rolled sushi, Vietnamese-style soups and bowls, traditional Chinese dim sum, wok-fired chicken and beef entrées, and family style noodles and rice. All made from scratch every day.
PF Chang's at the Plaza is quality restaurant that aims to please their customers. There was nothing more one could really ask for. I didn't have to wait for drink refills because our server was always right on time and paying close attention to our needs!
with reservations I stood by the door 45 minutes after checking in when I asked them what the hold up was wow my table was ready. Amazing! Then I got the table by an off set wall so no room at all very crowded by the door so every time the door opened a gust of cold wind and again the second and last time in a row for that table and me!
Food was great! Service was a little slow, but I know they had just opened up for the day. Overall I would go back again.
The food was good, but service was lacking.
We had a dinner for 6 for our grandaughters birthday. This restaurant always seems to be busy, and the only physical problem is a lack of space for waiting so the entry gets congested. The food that we ordered was all well prepared and the portions were very generous. Service was excellent even though the restaurant was busy.
Pretty terrible service
It is difficult to provide a review when the restaurant has a water break and does not make any effort to contact you in advance to let you know they will be closed. My wife and I did not discover this until we were parked and ready to walk in. Fortunately a neighboring restaurant had space, as we had tickets for an event and time was limited.
Maybe we just got a new person, but the service was some of the worst I’ve ever experienced at a Plaza restaurant. He was prompt enough about taking our drink and appetizer order, but everything went downhill from there. Not going to go into detail but eventually the manager came over to apologize, and said he’d comp some of our food which ended up being just our $5.95 dumplings and $5.00 edamame that we had already sent back because they were over cooked and mushy. Everything from the kitchen was very slow to come out.
Diamond gave us great service and we enjoyed the Restaurant Week choices.
Food was mediocre. Service was slow despite the number of waiters and few customers. We were obviously in a hurry and took 30 minutes to get our checks. Which were wrong and had to be sent back. I'd rather go to my local small Chinese restaurant.
Good food. Good service. Reservation honored promptly. Pacing good.
Nice atmosphere, good food, not too expensive. Overall, good value.
We were late to our reservation and they still seated us quickly. The service was outstanding and the food was amazing! We will be returning to this restaurant again! Completely satisfied and 100% outstanding service and food!
The service was great. We had a new years eve reservation but got there over 2 hours early and they still seated us. The food was really good and you get your money's worth. I'd definitely go there again and recommend it.
Did not get a waiter for a long time ,finally had to ask to get one . This was new years eve and not that crowded, after that all went well.
Loved it! Will definitely be back happy new year . Food and atmosphere was great
Food was good and the server was very nice, but the restaurant was overwhelmed with "Take Out" orders. Dinner was slow and an additional take our order we submitted with our dine in order took forever to get to our table (we sat at our table an additional 30 minutes to get the take out order). It would seem PF Chang's would give some consideration to the guests sitting in their restaurant over their Take Out order business, but this was shown otherwise on 12/31/2018.
Apps we ordered didn’t come out hot then our dinner never came. We finally paid bill and told them we had to leave. Manager was nice and brought a $25 gift card to us. Maybe they were short staffed with it being New Years.
The kitchen took forever getting our food to us. Way too long~
Seated 20 min after the reservation time, servers were over seated and over stretched, our food came out incorrectly and the server said that it had been happening to her all night.
had a reservation and waiting 20 minutes anyway. Music was way too loud...service was slow. Food was just ok.
Family dinner on the Plaza and it was outstanding! Best Gluten Free we have ever had. Our server Sarah was top notch and really knows her stuff - a delight.
Food took over 45 minutes. Poor service.
Great menu selection, ample portions and good service. Our family enjoyed a wonderful dining experience.
6 pm reservations and arrived 5:50. We did not get our table until 6:50. Pretty disappointed since it was my son’s 25th birthday.
Good as usual. Lettuce wraps were amazing
Had a great time eating dinner with my Mom before the symphony. Our reservation was at 5 pm and we were seated promptly. Bonus - we got there early enough to still qualify for Happy Hour pricing. The banana wonton dessert was incredible!
Terrible service. From the bar to our waiter throughout the evening. Constant miscommunication & waiting for the appropriate meal to arrive to our table. I waited 75 minutes for a spicy tuna roll ordered at the bar & it only got worse once I got our table. The worst $400 I’ve spent all year!
Service at this restaurant is usually wonderful, however, for this particular meal it was horrible. Waitress avoided our table because she knew she kept making mistakes, 4 out of 5 meals came out incorrectly, and many side dishes were never brought out to us.
P F Changs was great, no complaints.
But I'm not a fan of "open table". When we got there they didn't show our reservation. Said they were having trouble with "open table" and they didn't like it either 🤨
Excellent food and atmosphere. Very nice variety in the menu. I also asked for a special arrangement and they accommodated me right away.
Food was cold. Had the Mongolian beef and one of pieces was like an inch thick. Ending up stopping at another restaurant on the way home. Definitely will not be back
Apparently PF Chang’s does not accept parties of 8 or more through Open Table, even though Open Table let us make the party of 8 reservation. We showed up and the hostess basically made us feel like we did something wrong, said they didn’t have a reservation for us, but could accommodate us anyway. It was 4:30pm and the restaurant was not at all busy. It made for an awkward start to our special family night out. Food was below standard and server and kitchen got a little behind as restaurant started to fill up. One of our meals was delivered 5 minutes after everyone else’s. Not sure if we will go back any time soon.
I don’t know if it was just a bad night for them or what, but our experience was horrible! Our appetizers came and we had no forks. We were told there were none clean lol and it took about 15 minutes to get forks and by then our appetizers were cold, but no one seemed to care. Then our food came out without our rice and we were told it would be out in just a few minutes! It never came!! So we had no rice for our entrees! And nothing got comped or taken off.... it was the worst experience I’ve ever had! A 250 dollar dinner ruined by poor service. Our server was Hannah and she was clueless!
Enjoyed our annual holiday night as a family on the Plaza
It was horrible! For our anniversary, I reserved my table for 2 at 6:45. Once we got up to the hostess, I was told a couple of minutes. After 15 minutes, I check back in as did everyone else, and was told that no one is getting up. Then 30 minutes pass and still nothing. The 4 hostesses didn’t have a clue what was going on. It seemed like if you talked with them that say you next. People were waiting for 1.5 hours for a table. At 7:30 the manager apologized and had thought we had been sat, but no one was communicating. Went to clean off tables and then we watched as they sat three other groups ahead of us. I don’t get the point of making a reservation a week ahead and then waiting an hour. When asked why others were being sat ahead after the main person said we were next, we got the same excuse that no one is getting up. It was awful and felt like it ruined my evening. Luckily my husband and I went somewhere else and had a wonderful time!
We waited 45 minutes for our table even with a reservation.
Very average experience. Waiter was timely. We didn’t have any troubles but he didn’t have much personality or passion around his work. Our appetizers were above average but entrees were so so. I would have scored them higher except for the hostess. We arrived right at 6 and had a reservation. She told us it would be a few minutes while they cleared a table. NBD. 10 minutes later we noticed others getting seated and went up to inquire. Without any emotion or apology or acknowledgement she looked and pointed at her screen and handed a waitress menus and silverware and didn’t say anything to us. We weren’t upset just expected a ‘Sorry for your wait. The waitress will seat you.’ Maybe she was having a bad day but it gave us a bad first impression.
We always enjoy Chang's at the Plaza. We mix it in with shopping and it provides a good experience.
This place continues to have consistently good food and service at a great location on the Plaza.
