Walter Manzke's Petty Cash is a semi-authentic taqueria with myriad talent drawn from East LA, Baja and beyond. Petty Cash's menu features re-conceptualized street food classics driven by the best local, seasonal ingredients, rooted in multi-generational tradition and technique.

Great neighborhood restaurant! Delicious food and drinks, a little pricier than the average "Mexican" restaurant. Nice indoor/outdoor atmosphere. If you want cheap Mex food, go to the next block.
We had a terrific time! Great food, excellent service, clean bathrooms, and top notch entertainment. If I lived locally, I'd definitely be a regular.
Our view of the entertainment was very poor! We were seated at a bench table and in front of us were High top tables which hindered our view. Suggestion: put the High Top tables toward the back and the low bench tables in the front, that way everyone has a view. The food was VERY overpriced for the amount received. $6 per taco and they were the size of street tacos with very little meat. $5 for a Diet Coke bottle that was the size of a mini bottle. No domestic beer what so ever, and not many choices at that. Their mix drinks were the size of a “high ball glass.” No regular tall glasses. The service was ok. Our waitress was extremely friendly and very attentive. But, not sure I’ll ever go back there to eat. Sorry.
I thought the sound level was too noisy. Also, though we reserved in advance, we were given seats in the general area at shared wooden tables with really uncomfortable chairs. When I asked whether a more comfortable booth was available, they told us no. But I think there may have been one available. Finally, one cocktail that I ordered tasted way too bitter. When they noticed I wasn't drinking it (to their credit) they offered to change it, but they said that it was made the way it should have been. I don't think so - I've had the same thing before there, and it was better. So my impression was that the service was rushed, although they were trying. The food's always good here - I just wish the pace wasn't so hectic and that the mood and setting was more relaxed. It comes off as a really hype version of relaxed - not the real relaxed vibe they are advertising.

The cauliflower nachos were really good, however, the tacos were weird, and had too many different ingredients. The michelada was also not good. It was too expensive for the amount of food and the quality of food.
Love petty cash
I think it is great that restaurants are offering their employees health care benefits but feel that it is tacky to add a percentage onto your total bill to pay for it. Just increase your prices by that percentage instead. I don't care if there is a menu item that is $12.99 or $13.38.
i really like Petty Cash. the food is terrific, great energy and the server always has great personal recommendations. Noise level was high so it was a bit difficult to hear a conversation but overall really terrific.
The place is great! The food is fantastic and so is their service. However they have over charges that show up on your bill and I happened to read them and even though the menu says one price. It is different on the bill. They have a charge for some kind of service fee and it even though it is like $5.00 They should alway let the customer know about it and not hide it and make it clear why.
Delicious food and fun environment! Festive!
This is a different take on Mexican cuisine in a cheerful if a bit physically uncomfortable environment. The service is great, the food is delicious, and the ambiance is cheerful contemporary. The chairs and stools are uncomfortable, perhaps by design to promote turnover in patrons. A bit pricey for what you get, but fun and delicious.
Lively place. The cauliflower nachos were very good. Had a great time just couldn't hear any of my friends across the table.

Our waitress Shayna was excellent, knew her menu by heart and made suggestions only after asking what our preferences were and if we had any allergies or other issues that might matter when ordering.
The place filled up after we arrived and we saw her doing her best to keep up with a full section that all showed up and ordered at the same time. Interesting seating pattern. Anyways food was acceptable and drinks were, too.

My husband's in a wheel chair. At first glance I didn't think it would work but Petty Cash's manager moved a bench and made the long table in the window a perfect spot for brunch. The guac was chunky and flavorful but not too spicy. We each had a taco on blue corn tortillas that were crunchy and more than a couple of bites. My husband had the huevos which were a thoughtful and filling version of the dish and then, as it was my husband's birthday, they brought us a tray filled with hot beignets and home-made rasberry jam. I expected the food to be excellent but the staff really went out of their way, discreetly, to make my husband's birthday brunch a delicious and relaxing experience. Thank you Petty Cash. There's nothing Petty about you.
Great food, little pricey but quality of food reflected price. Fun place to either have drinks or go for dinner! Will be going back!
We decided to have a last minute dinner and needed and easy yet place with a vibe so it was our first time and really over exceeded our expectations.
Our only comment is to take more pictures to show how the place is really is because the ones you have are not doing it any justice

The food and drinks and ambiance were decent. However, it took 25 mins to get our drinks and the waitress kept apologizing but nothing was taken off the bill. Then she accidentally rang in a chicken taco instead of chicken nachos, which took another 20 mins to remedy. I understand mix ups, I'm a bartender. But to still receive a $120 bill for 2 people after staying an extra hour due to mix ups seems ridiculous
Great food, fantastic drinks, hotspot - The fish tacos and Al Pastor are incredible. I tried a bite of the octopus taco and it was also delicious.
