Petty Cash Taqueria & Bar
Walter Manzke's Petty Cash is a semi-authentic taqueria with myriad talent drawn from East LA, Baja and beyond. Petty Cash's menu features re-conceptualized street food classics driven by the best local, seasonal ingredients, rooted in multi-generational tradition and technique.
Featuring urban elements such as hand-painted murals by local street artist RETNA and picnic style tables and bench seating which lend to a relaxed and playful communal dining experience. The street art meets street food vibe channels the spirit of Tijuana circa 1986 meets modern day LA. The equally spirited cocktail program features unique craft cocktails on draft and eclectic Mexican spirits.
Great food, fantastic drinks, hotspot - The fish tacos and Al Pastor are incredible. I tried a bite of the octopus taco and it was also delicious.
One of the best Mexican inspired restaurants in Los Angeles. Simple, excellent.
The most expensive tacos I have ever eaten though they were very delicious.
The vegetarian nachos are good. But a $6.00 taco is just not something I can stomach. Food is good. Was a Sunday afternoon so pretty quiet. I do like the place. But the sticker shock will get you.
The server was extremely helpful and friendly. Good came out in a timely fashion. Drinks were delicious. The only drawback is that the two top tables are extremely close together, making you feel as if you are on a date with the people next to you. Great evening.
Petty Cash Taqueria has quickly become one of our favorite places. Their food is delicious and drinks are really unique. We’ve been there with our adult friends and with kids as well. It’s a very charming and festive restaurant.
I expected a full menu Mexican restaurant but this one is only tacos. I hoped for a restaurant and it was a bar. So and very limited menu. And very loud. That said, the margaritas were excellent!
Great food and Margaritas! Always worth the visit.
Unfortunately sometimes you have to hunt down your server.
Great place for a birthday bash or just to hang out with friends. Food and booze is awesome ad the vibe is solid!
Get the cauliflower nachos!! You won’t be disappointed.
Good food!! Went for brunch and had the brunch quesadilla. It was absolutely delicious!!
It’s a bit loud but love the ambience.
Absolutely but they MUST turn the music down! You can't hear enough to have a conversation.
So fun! I went with 5 friends and it was a great restaurant for a big group, especially since they mostly do communal tables. So fun!
My names Jeff!
STAFF WAS GREAT ! A little loud for me, but I'm ancient. I appreciate a lighter more veggie friendly menu.
Very tasty - love it when they open the front windows and it feels like we are eating outside
Margaritas are wildly overpriced considering their tiny size, but they are delicious.
I know it was Cinco de Mayo, but the music was so brutally loud, everyone seemed miserable.
After numerous tables kindly asked forn the music to be turned down they continued not to listen. It was a challenge to have a conversation with people at the same table and didn't feel as though the service care whatsoever
Food & drinks were so good!!! Friendly service! I’m not sure if the decor was for the next day (Cinco de Mayo) but regardless the place was nice. Love the Retna mural!
Just wanted to thank you for the wonderful customer service we received at your establishment on Saturday, May 4th. So as a group we just wanted to thank you and with service like that you will always definitely be a Los Angeles favorite. Thank you
The service was okay. The overpriced menu was limited with regards to food and drinks. Disappointed as we were excited to try the place.
Food was excellent, without Happy Hour pricing you’re paying a hefty amount for everything. The tortillas are particularly good. Room can be a bit loud.
Great place, Very good as always!!!! One thing .... for years the have the chicharones... when are you going to bring them back.... please !!!
Service was excellent and food was amazing! Tacos were all delicious! We had shrimp tacos, octopus tacos (my fave) and the carne asada tacos. The ceviche was just ok in my opinion, however the guacamole is deeelish! I would definitely come back again and I have been there many times in the past! Definitely my go to for tacos!!
Our favorite restaurant in LA! We go there often, as a family, with the kids, with friends and always choose it as a destination restaurant when out of town Freinds are in LA.
We had a great time celebrating my girlfriends birthday!
Food was great, just a little loud.
Delicious ! The seasonal quesadilla is great! They always have some new dishes based on what’s available at the farmers market.
Best tacos. Authentic with a touch of something else.
Very tasty food. Great tacos!
Pork taco was very fatty. Had two 'Good Sh*t ' margaritas that were just average weak. The steak quesadilla was good but I won't be back for it.
Great food but they clean up after you way to fast. You’re still chewing and they whisk away the plates
I've been a few times and I love the food. The problem is that I leave hungry and broke. It is overpriced for what you get.
Always a great experience
Best Mexican in La!! The food is so good and the margaritas 😋😋😋 we wanted to come back for a second time on our trip! Must visit when in LA
Petty Cash is our go-to for Mexican, especially when we are entertaining out of town guests. The food is exceptional: creative, delicious and good value for the money. The guacamole is to die for. Ditto the brisket quesadilla. And the roasted brussels sprouts. All the tacos are great, but I especially like the octopus, carne asada and the pork with pineapple. The flan dessert is really closer to a creme brulée and it is da bomb.
Horrible food. Loud.
Portions could have been larger for ceviche
