Food was great. We had 4 kids with us, and the restaurant was kid friendly. Excellent service!
We were looking for a place to eat dinner before the FROZEN show and Petterino's was suggested. It was my daughter's 16th birthday and the show was her present and it was mentioned in the reservation. Decor was fun and very pretty. Server was very very good! Meals and drinks were a bit overpriced, but that is to be expected downtown. 2 "issues" really irked me though. There was no recognition for my daughter's birthday. No Happy Birthday, no candle, no nothing. All that was done was that her dessert was taken off the bill. I just think for the amount of money for a plate, a simple candle would have been nice, to celebrate a special milestone. Anything. Secondly, charging $28 for the scallop special is outrageous. There are NO sides that come with it at all. They weren't even jumbo scallops. I've purchased bigger scallops at Aldi. Each of the 3 were the size of a teaspoon, and was $28. That was frustrating!
Always a great spot whenever we are in Chicago!! We will keep coming back
The food was delicious and the service was fantastic too. Our waiter was great and we had a great time.
Food and service was excellent
Love Petterino's! Great service and amazing food, can't wait to go back!
Happy to still see a lot of favorite dishes being served.
Perfect evening of wine, dine and show with friends began with Petterino’s
The food was great, I love the decor, and staff was friendly. We had some trouble finding someone to ask them to refill our water glasses (they were empty for a while), but they were getting really busy & I know everyone is short-staffed these days. I loved the pianist/singer! The lobster & shrimp salad was delicious.
This Restaurant is a MUST. New Restaurant Management Company. Fantastic!! Service is outstanding; front desk (check in), Bar, Bus Staff and Server along with the Manager. Highly recommend. The menu is great. We had the Gnocchi, hands down some of the BEST ever. Very tasty, sauce is delicious and the texture is unique VERY YUMMY. The vegetables were fresh, perfectly seasoned. We both had white fish which was extraordinary. Please go try Petterino's. We've been long time customers. We always will be.
Welcoming, great service and good menu and choices
Mark, the manager, was excellent. He came to our table with 2 glasses of champagne to toast my friend’s retirement and returned later to make sure we were having an enjoyable evening!
Our waitress never checked on us and we had to flag her down for a dessert menu. Then she never came back so we didn’t order dessert and had to flag her down again for the check. Ruined our time out.
Loved the ambiance and wanted to love everything else equally as much. But, the service was less than stellar. We sat for at least 15 minutes before a waiter came and that was only because we had to ask a manager for one. They never brought the salads we ordered either. Just not good service for the type of restaurant it is.
Dinner here was amazing! We made reservations ahead of time which went smoothly. The food and drinks were great. Service was the best part. Our waiter, an older gentlemen, was so friendly and gave my partner and I wonderful recommendations. We would 100% return
Had a very nice dinner here. Food was good and had great service. Really good value and had a nice dinner here.
Would recommend and I would go back again
I miss some of the classics like the Fritzel salad and peppermint ice cream. The cocktail was delicious but would prefer the pour from a shaker at the table to have the full pour, a $16 martini filled well below the top so it doesn’t spill while delivering to the table is a bit annoying. Service is really quick and food was tasty so still a great place for pre show dining. Live piano music was great!
Pre-theater dinner. Food was delicious, especially dessert. Service was incredible. Noise level was high, but overall ambience was enjoyable. I really enjoyed the live pianist. Will definitely be going back.
Great pre-theatre meal. Service was attentive and personable. Food was excellent. We were tight on time and everything arrived quickly. We even had time for dessert.
My daughter and I had dinner here before going to see Frozen, the musical at the Cadillac Palace. Very nice space, the food was good and the service was really great. We would definitely return!!
Perfect location before a show. Staff is very friendly and service was great. Smaller menu than it used to be and we had to ask for bread. The Risotto was served inside a large bone. Not very appetizing. But the other entrees were great as were the drinks.
Great dinner before a show! Nice options for all.
I've been going to Petterino's for years. The service is always exemplary. I brought my father and my niece as we were all seeing Frozen that evening. The noise level was a bit too high as my father is hard of hearing. The food was excellent. Please bring back the Blueberry Lemontini! And the Homer's ice cream.
The food and service were excellent. It got a. It noisy as the restaurant filled up but we would return there whenever we go down for the theater.
The food was very delicious and the waitress was very kind. The tomato bisque soup was to extremely tasty and warm. I had to send my food back to have warmed up but they waiting staff was very cooperative. We were there to see Frozen with my Grandchildren and I wish the staff would have had more time to interact with them but it was very busy and I'm sure they are shorthanded like all restaurants these days.
I would return again.
I enjoyed the food overall and the scenery was great. Would I go again? Yes I would. I attended this restaurant on New Year Eve and it was really nice.
The food was excellent per usual. I had the whitefish, which was delicious. I also had the Italian cookie gelato, which tasted like Biscoff cookies. Very good.
My sister and I took our three small children to see Frozen and decided to eat at Petterino’s and we are so happy we did. From the moment we entered the dining room until we left the staff were more than wonderful. It is often difficult to find a restaurant in the city that will not only accept a table with a 2, 3 and 5 -year old but the staff at Petterino’s went out of their way to make our girls feel special. I would highly recommend Petterino’s and am so thankful that our girls had a special night.
Oh and the food was outstanding!
Great meal. All was delish and wonderful ambiance. Food was a little on the cool side - could have all been hotter. Service was a little slow and a server seemed a little stretched thin but his enthusiasm and knowledge/guidance made up for it. Still a classic Chicago eatery. Definitely will be back.
Wonderful wonderful food great service at the bar and at the table. So nice to listen to piano music as we’re dining. We love this place
Homemade pasta was delicious and the service was top notch!
OUR SERVER WAS EXCEPTIONAL, OVERALL FEELING WAS VERY NICE.
This was a special night for our family. We took three little girls to see Frozen and then dinner at Petterino's. Our server was so attentive to all of us. He took the time to help each of the girls with their orders in a "grown up" manner. We enjoyed delicious dinners...white fish, hamburgers, chicken tenders, and tomato bisque. For dessert the ladies had tiramisu and lemon tart with great coffee. The girls all had gelato in an ice cream cone. This was the best way to end a special evening.
Great views of the city street activity. Upscale feel with interest menu.
Great food and awesome service for our dinner before going to Frozen.
Our server was really good. Two order of fries came out cold, and they got the replaced immediately. The tomato bisque soup was very tasty and the presentation was lovely. Only complaint is that one of the runners was not wearing his mask properly and was rubbing his nose. I hope he washed his hands before he handled any food.
We were happily seated before our reservation by a very pleasant host. Our waiter was a young man doing his best but we hadn’t even taken a second sip of our cocktails before our appetizer AND our second course arrived at our table delivered by a kitchen hopper. We looked surprised, expressed shock by the speed and took both dishes. He didn’t seem to understand our reactions.
We literally took one bite of our calamari and salad and both of our main courses arrived at our table! We were puzzled but again, the kitchen hopper wasn’t very helpful. When our waiter returned (which in my opinion was a delayed follow up), we explained how rushed we were feeling but he said kitchen speed was out of his control and he wanted to know what we wanted him to do, I said, “We are sitting at a table with out entrees and first cocktails, appetizer and salad all unconsumed…hmmm. What can you do to help?” When the host came over he apologized and said the kitchen must have eaten their Wheaties tonight and offered to redo our main courses to which I agreed as we wanted to eat them hot.
For the price, food was just fair. Lacking in flavor.
There was no further accommodations made… I think dessert should have been on the house (and yes, we ordered dessert and coffee because we needed a reason to slow down the pace). No second cup of coffee was offered.
We weren’t there for a free meal, we paid for everything, but why rush us out on a Monday night with no one waiting at 6:00? The kitchen needs to communicate with wait staff regarding the pacing of courses. Seems everything is entered electronically which can be misjudged by cooks. Our issue seemed to stem from poor training of wait staff. I fully understand times are tough and good help is difficult to find and keep but this place gives off a vibe where a bit better is to be expected.
Great menu, great service, great food.
Family holiday dinner.
Whenever I go to a show at the Goodmen Theater I always enjoy dinning at Petterino’s.
However, this time I found the service a bit lacking.
I had to ask for bread twice and didn’t get it until long after the dinner was served.
We had to flag down the server in order to get refills.
Perhaps it was a difficult day for our server but you did ask.
The food and atmosphere was wonderful.
I look forward to dinning there again.
