Great food wine ridiculously overpriced
Booked through open table and they must have had a problem as didn’t have the booking. I showed them the confirmation and they made me feel like it was my fault. They then said there was only a set menu and made some excuse about not expecting us and therefore not being able to offer anything else etc. For a Michelin Star restaurant frankly not good enough, and wouldn’t have minded if they’d apologised or said was due to COVID, or even if was in the booking. It was very weird and the food was great, but the restaurant was half full so no idea what the fuss was about. I have been to Petrus before and it was pretty special but not this time.
Is my third visit to Petrus and that’s because I really want to like this restaurant more than I do. The food quality, selection and flavors just dont warrant the price, or the Michelin star by comparison to others I have patronized. Staff and ambience are great, the wine list is ok. I wont go back and I am off to find another place for a special dinner.
Delicious. Met Gordon Ramsey too, who was a really nice chap.
Great food and staff
Great way to spend the last night before lockdown II
A bright and spacious restaurant, beautifully decorated with colour accents making the interior standout.
The service was perfect, someone available whenever needed but no constant fussing.
As for the food, we had the lunch menu, it was fresh, refreshing and filling. Though the portions don't look huge, the dishes are perfectly sized so you're not full until the very end.
Will certainly be revisiting post-lockdown.
Had the lunch menu, was very good but not amazing. Great service and care taken with covid restrictions.
Great venue for a business dinner. Brilliant service with great paired wines. Not the first time I have dined here and definitely won’t be the last.
We just had the most delicious vegetarian meal - we opted for the prestige tasting menu and every single course was fantastic and memorable! Larry looked after us during our visit and made the dinner extra special for us. Highly recommend for any occasion!
We chose the tasting menu but was a little disappointed that it was not as enjoyable as the pre covid time. It was not extraordinary and is no longer on my list of "must eat at" while visiting London.
We had the absolute best time at Petrus. The food was outstanding, we tried the tasting menu which had a few little surprise courses. Everything was delicious. We had some fantastic servers, one waiter read the table really well and we had a great time, laughing and joking with him. You do worry that a restaurant of this standard can be stuffy and conservative, this was not the case. We felt comfortable during the whole meal. All four of us would highly recommend and we will definitely be returning.
Everyone was so friendly and yet professional. The food was exquisite. We had the tasting menu and the portions were perfect to be able to enjoy every course. Overall great experience. I would highly recommend.
I am not a fan of GR's personality and wasn't expecting anything too special. As an extreme foodie myself and everyday cook, I must say, I was impressed. The ambiance was nice, not too stiff, the staff very attentive, but not annoying. The food was earthy, real, exceptional, recognizable. It deserves attention.
Went there for our wedding anniversary and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience from when we walked in to when we left.
Lots of nice little touches from the staff there and they were all very friendly and professional.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone.
I treated my daughter to a fabulous meal. The food couldn’t have been better but the atmosphere created by one member of the team in particular reminded me of a cosmetic section in a department store - an arrogant, judgemental person with no right or valid reason to be so.
When I think of all of the establishments I’ve eaten in and all of the lovely places I’ve been made special by the people that have hosted each occasion, it’s disappointing to eat at Petrus and leave feeling that expectations haven’t been met.
One other small thing - the wine list was complicated to the point of annoying. I spent all day, every day on a laptop, I don’t want to have to scroll through an iPad.
Excellent meal, service, restaurant - my partner was not feeling well, so went alone and enjoyed every minute of it , certainly will be taking my Partner next time, highly recommended
High quality food, great service and made to feel special
We were so well looked after with the most delicious food, thank you
Fabulous service from the minute we walked in til the minute we walked out
Incredible food! The best cod I have ever tasted just on another level of flavour!
Amazing lunch as ever - discrete great service - lovely spot for lunch.
Absolutely delicious food and wonderful service
Everything is perfect. I believe the Petrus deserves two stars. The lobster and duck are really great. Everyone is friendly. Had a very nice conversation with Mr. Vlad and the Sommelier Mr. Suzuki. Will definitely visit again!
As always I rate this as one of the best fine dining restaurants in London. This was my first visit post-lockdown and on balance probably the best lunch I’ve ever had there, so I think they’ve raised the bar. I went for the three course à la carte with wine. Amazing service, excellent attention to detail and still one of the loveliest restaurant interiors in London. Petrus is always a wonderful experience. The lobster that I had for starter was divine - better than the lobster I’ve had a few weeks before in Normandy! The staff are charming I’m on the top of their game so just about everything here is top-notch. It’s not cheap but then I’m recommending it for the gastronomic experience not for saving money - this is one of the best restaurants in London after all,.
Petrus is on a different level - not only the food ( exquisite) but also the service (spot on). It is truly excellent. Yes it is expensive but gosh it is worth it.
Trying to sell sell sell!
Service slightly imposing & food Defo only Ok .....nothing amazing!
The service was very professional and I appreciate that several staff members spoke French, as it should be in a Michelin restaurant based on French cuisine.
The ajo blanco sauce was delicious, and paired well with the lobster. The garnishes also balanced the composition well. There could have maybe been another element for texture but this is a minor observation.
As for the beef rib, I would expect a slightly larger portion, since it is a main course - even for a Michelin restaurant. Nevertheless, it was the best dish because of its balance of textures and the depth of flavour of the sauce.
I was very pleased with the soufflé, having lived in France, I have a precise expectation of what a soufflé should be. The height was acceptable and the texture was sufficiently light. It could have had a more intense flavour however, as when paired with the ice cream it was overpowered by the chocolate and did not recall the flavour profile of a black forest cake, which it is based on.
Overall, I was very pleased with the experience. It is not the best French restaurant in London (that goes to La Dame de Pic), but I would come back.
Very friendly. Good food!!!
Lovely food, super friendly staff and very relaxed.
Superb food and service. Very expensive but its a top price for a top quality restaurant and experience.
Excellent service and food! Nice experience, highly recommended.
Fantastic lunch, well worth the money. Couldn’t be faulted.
All good. Food and service was faultless. First dining out since lockdown and didn’t disappoint.
Petrus is a wonderful culinary experience.
But a bit pretentious. Not warm.
I found the strange space a bit unsettling.
Great to visit Petrus as our 1st post lockdown dinner. Superb service- knowledgeable, entertaining, friendly... The food was inventive and well presented. Highlights were the olive oil sabayon served with the scallops and the pre-dessert with an exquisite balance between sweetness and acidity.
A great experience.
Overall pretty good, I’ve had better but that’s just because I’ve been to restaurants all over the world that are Michelin starred. This is a pretty solid 1 michi. The amouse bouche literally tastes like Russia (reminded me of childhood).
Near perfect experience, and the food was to die for. However, some price transparency would have been appreciated for I thought the champagne that was served in the beginning was complementary and ended up costing over 50£
Staff were very kind and attentive. The food is on another level!
Amazing food and service, the presentation, quality and taste was superb. We ran out of superlatives. Nice interior and great for special occasions.
Outstanding food and service. A must dining experience!
