Welcome to Petronella.

Our charming restaurant, located along the romantic allure of the Butterslip Lane, serves wonderful Irish food with warm and friendly service.

We serve Brunch and Dinner from Tuesday to Saturday or come and try Petronella's famous Sunday Roast.

Located on the medieval Butterslip Lane, Petronella, just like her namesake, has an illustrious past, located in one of Kilkenny's oldest and historic buildings. The restaurant pays homage to Petronella, the first woman accused of witchcraft in Ireland and the first woman in Europe to be executed by burning at the stake, just a few steps from our door.

Best sandwich we had in Ireland over 12 days(the chicken and the ham). Cottage pie was great as well. Great find on Butter Slip! The history of name is really interesting as well.

Really nice restaurant in lovely location - made to feel very welcome and we eventually were sat upstairs where there was more atmosphere. Fairly limited menu but presentation was nice and portions good. I would defenitely recommend when bisiting.

The interior was gorgeous, staff really friendly and food was amazing. Only suggestion would be if booking a table ask for a table upstairs. We were sitting downstairs and was small and slightly noisy
