We wanted a special place to celebrate a 70th birthday. We were not disappointed. The dining room is lovely. Our server understood our group, realizing we were celebrating, and allowed us to comfortably stay for hours. Food was well presented and flavorful. We enjoyed a fine dining experience!

Everything was wonderful from being greeted at entry to the goodbye. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious! The wine selection was great! We went out in a “Fancy Date Night” and it definitely was, especially to the window sweating and view of the green! We will definitely come back.

Joseph was very nice, but needs a bit more training. Didn’t tell us his name. Didn’t tell us the special. Didn’t come back to the table to see how are food was. Didn’t offer fresh ground pepper. There were a couple of other little things that only a server would notice. The food was great and we both had a very nice dinner. Thank you.

This is a great place to try for brunch buffet in Bakersfield. Glad to have tried it. Hopefully they do more open events for non members. Food and service were great. Good drink specials; hopefully they keep up.

Our steak was very bloody and not left to set. Chicken is fine. Ambiance is so quiet I feel like I’m in a library. It was for dinner where there are only 2 tables occupied. Just hope it’s much livelier around lunch time. Service is very good though. And they offered to comp our wine.

The New Year's Eve dinner was excellent. Wonderful ambiance and service was excellent. Only downside was we were seated in the bar area, which was more intimate, but could not hear the band at all. It would have been nice to have had speakers in the bar so that we could enjoy the music as well.

Only table seated in the dining room, adjacent to the banquet room where a very rowdy party with full amplified speakers and DJ/music provided shouting to communicate to the waiter. Not there fault but not optimal. Side note, good food but this is no where near fine dining. Maybe for Bakersfield?

Six of us met for a Christmas gathering of siblings/spouses. We were seated at a table in the bar…3 people on the cushioned bench seat and 3 opposite in chairs. The chairs were higher so it was a bit awkward. Being in the bar was not the best dining situation either, what with the TV and bar chatter. The soup, salads and entrees (rib eye, chicken, sea bass) were all great. The sides were not so much…dollops of mash potatoes were cold and tasted like they were made up ahead of time. The veggies were meh. We were promised fresh rolls at the table when first seated but we didn’t get them until the entrees arrived. Would have been nice to have the bread with the soup and/or salad. Waiter was adequate but seemed not to be at the “fine dining” level—in appearance, style or service level. This was more like a “family diner” than a “fine dining” experience.

Our reservation was for 3:45, we were told by the hostess that that dinner wasn't until 5:30 , so we went to Olive Garden. We were stunned to learn that the reservation meant nothing and the hostess was like " Oh well ". I don't think we will ever utilize Petroleum Club again !

Food was excellent. Service a little slow but understandable given staffing issues. Great quiet place to have dinner and not have to shout at your companions to have a conversation. Great to have a place in Bakersfield where you can dress up for dinner. Nice view of golf course. Definitely will come back and recommend to others.
