Excellent lunch in a classic French place. Everything was very well done, service was impeccable. It's not the fanciest looking restaurant, but it's very nicely done.

A disappointment...2 large parties and not enough waiters, drinks took 10-15 minuets and we were sitting 20 feet from the bar!!!!

Very much enjoyed Petite Auberge vol 2. Service was efficient and friendly, food seemed better than the old Auberge (which was alway quite tasty). Had a glitch with our open table reservation but it was taken care of. Definitely will be back.

Overall atmosphere was nice but the quality of the food was average. I am originally from France , so I was expecting delicious prenium food. I was very disappointed. Apetizers ( cured meat and cheese) were so so and my steak frites was so so as well. My boyfriend had the coq au vin which was very basic in term of taste and flavor.

The food is always very consistent. The special quiche was good as was the grilled salmon. We got a good table near the front and in a quieter part of the restaurant. The only distraction is the noise level when other groups are present. Like most restaurants these days could use a little more padding to muffle sounds.

Since the transition from Violettes to Petite Violette the ambiance has gone. It is not cozy and French, but rather blaringly bright, and the good jazz has been replaced by a folk singer (?). The food is always excellent!

I selected the Beef Bourguignon at our server's recommendation (I had asked for a recommendation). Even though I was inclined more towards the non-beef selections, I chose what he suggested and was not disappointed! I do not think I have had better Beef Bourguignon. Our pleasant male server was attentive and his elegant manner aligned with the quality of the restaurant, Petite Violette. My guest had the sauteed trout dish with asparagus and she was very happy with it. I also had the recommended chocolate mouse filled chocolate cake dessert (at the recommendation of our server when I asked) and it was so delicious! Furthermore, the butter dipped rolls that automatically come to the table before the meal are tender and wonderful. I also appreciated the Valet as the valet was efficient and attentive with my car and guest. Worth a visit!

I think they used packaged Parker House dinner rolls which seemed stale . No french bread. They served me cold foie gras which was a mouth full of raw liver. No apologies. Sub prime meat at prime prices.i.e filet was dry although cooked properly and rack of lamb was nearly raw and very chewy. Had to flag down a bus boy for butter, ice, bernaise sauce which should have come with the steak but was missing)and a surly waiter who made sure that our pronunciation of the french dishes was wrong. In my reservation, I added it was a birthday celebration but they must have missed that bit of info. The space was a cute french cafe. Their salad was cold and crisp. The desert was nothing special.

The only negative is the noise level. With the talking and laughing from the other diners, plus the air conditioner, is was difficult to have a conversation. Definitely a boisterous setting.

Always a good choice for a nice dinner in the neighborhood and/or before theater, etc. Food was excellent, though I wish there were more choices for those of us who must avoid gluten and dairy. I had steak frites and my friend enjoyed the sea bass. Kudoes to PV for actually paying attention to requests for a specific seating area. And if you want a quiet place, go early . . . .

Always enjoy eating at Petite Violette... have eaten at both restaurants since both were established and since they've consolidated!!

My only complaint if the noise level....

When I come to Diva Dinners, which I LOVE, I have trouble hearing the moderator telling the delightful commentary. There is an air conditioner or something that goes off and almost obscures her comments.

Lunch the other day among with just four of us was difficult, because we had to shout to be heard....

CAN ANYTHING BE DONE TO SOFTEN THE NOISE??

This restaurant is noted for its French and continental cuisine but this year featured an Ocktoberfest. Again the food was superb.

Classic French Cooking but somewhat Americanized. A great date night location with a great atmosphere. The service is European, so don't go unless you plan to dine for more than one hour, probably two. This is not an American restaurant and good French cooking takes time. Have some wine, talk, get an appetizer, one of their salads, etc....

This was our first dinner dining since the restaurant moved to current location. We had been several times for lunch. Service was excellent and our favorite singer from the old location was back. The music level was just right. Nice to see many of the former staff had moved also. Dinner was very good. We shared the roasted Brussels sprouts with a remoulade sauce and a French Chardonnay. The main was the sea bass on a bed of sautéed spinach and mashed potatoes with a light wine and butter sauce. It was outstanding. Prices are reasonable for the quality and the presentation.

Both my wife and I were very disappointed after having dined at Petite Auberge many times in past years. The excellent Vichyssoise is no longer on the appetizer menu. Rolls were simply white bread rolls like I can buy in a package of 12 in a grocery store. Dinner was good. Service was fine. Petite Auberge was always my wife's favorite restaurant to celebrate special occasions in her life, but with a special occasion coming up, she has already told me she does not want to go to Petite Violette.

Perhaps our expectations were too high but we found our dinner somewhat disappointing. Some of the dishes were quite good (coquille st jacques, escargot) but some quite disappointing (beef bourguignon, French onion soup & all three desserts we tried). Our server tried hard and was friendly but clearly had almost no training. It was still a pleasant evening, the atmosphere was good but we were all pretty surprised as to the variability of the food and service. It may have just been an off night (those do occur at the best of restaurants). I'd certainly give it another try, but with different expectations.

This was my first visit to Petite Violette since Petite Auberge and Violette joined, a combination which supports the view that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The food, service and value of Petite Violette are all very high. Service was attentive, but not obtrusive. I very much enjoyed the onion soup and the chicken cordon bleu.

My only two (mildly) negative comments. First do you really need valet parking? Second, why have someone playing the guitar?

We've enjoyed both Petite Auberge when it was open in Toco Hill Shopping Center and Violette. We were happy to hear that Petite Auberge would reincarnate with Violette for Petite Violette. Well, the new place did not disappoint. A few of the old german favorites survived which pleased my husband. Food was very good, service excellent and the overall experience was very good. Great, local place.

We dined at Petite Auberge at Toco for over 35 yrs. We were anxious when we heard they were merging with Violette. This is the first occasion we have had to dine at Petite Violette and our meal did not disappoint. We will definitely return as many of our favorite PA dishes are still on the menu and as scrumptious as ever. You can dine here with confidence...:)

Textbook perfect French cuisine (my favorite!). The Beef Wellington is superbly prepared and delicious. Only negative is the (bad) folksy female vocalist, who is a distraction as she sings Happy Birthday 10 or 12 times in the course of a dinner! PV: pls just put on nice background dinner music instead!! There is also no space for live entertainment in this very cozy (small) restaurant.

Violette's had a better menu selection before it merged with Le Petite Auberge. Went on a Wed. for my husband's birthday because of a Brazilian guitar player was supposed to play at 6:30. It was practically 7:00 p.m., and we were half way through our meal, when he started playing. The waiter Axel was abrupt and lacked charm. We had to hail another waiter for bread because ours disappeared. The food was tasty, but not an overall good experience.
