My husband and I were excited about our first time at Petite Violette. We had reservations for the Easter Lunch. Unfortunately, the experience was a disappointment. The food was below par -- the potato soup was more like a canned veggie soup. The snapper was very dry. The chocolate dessert was very dry and the Key Lime pie didn't even taste of key lime. We had to ask for bread, and I had to reach over to another table to replenish my silverware after a course. Our empty champagne glasses were left on the table after we had received our dinner wine. We were not offered coffee with our dessert and we were brought our check without asking if there was anything else we need. We really wanted to like this restaurant - we love french food and we were looking forward to going to a "local" french restaurant.

We had a wonderful experience. It was my 65th birthday celebration and the music Trio set my name and sing me a birthday song. Our waitress was wonderful. There was an office group in a corner that was very loud. The noise did carry.

We had a nice lunch and good experience. I suggest eliminating a valet at lunch time since many prefer to park their own vehicles unless the parking area is full. Also we felt rather rushed at times to finish sooner than we would have liked. It was obviously the end of a shift.

If you are looking for a quit romantic dinner to celebrate a special occasion. Don’t expect anyone to even say hello in French.

We had a lovely date night and it’s been a while since we dined here so we decided to treat ourselves to some fabulous French cuisine! It was superb as usual! I missed seeing Karen, Michael and Anthony but got to see an unexpected familiar face - so happy Vivian has joined your team!! She’s always a delight! We will return soon!

The salad Petite Auberge (formerly Mushroom Salad Ritz) was excellent, served with a mixed green salad and heart of palm. The Mussels were excellent. Dessert of Strawberries Romanof was typically delicious. The only less-than-perfect item was the entrée, Schnitzel Wiener Art, winch was unusually dry and not hot when presented. Service was excellent.

My husband and I had an excellent dinner there on a Saturday evening. We loved our food. The beef wellington and beef bourguignon were excellent as were the creme brulee and the chololate pot de creme. The restaurant was busy, but we were seated right away. They offer valet parking, which is a plus.
We will look forward to going there again when we are in Atlanta.

I've been going to Atlanta's oldest French restaurant since the 1980's (including under its original name of Petite Auberge) and the quality of food, ambience and service have consistently been excellent.

Service is not the best, as there seems to be a lack of wait staff. Your waitress/waiter, may do the front two tables in the front and the last 4 tables in the back. Waited 15 mins after the meal was cleared just to get the dessert menu or the check, we took the check.

I ordered the Salade Nicoise and I was very disappointed. There was basically no dressing. It was a bunch of greens, only a couple of olives and the seared tuna. For $18, the salad should have been a lot better. I ate the tuna and the olives. Dessert was good. However, the service was very good. I should have complained, but I was in the company of colleagues and it was not appropriate.

If I ever go back, I will just have an appetizer or dessert and a glass of wine.

I usually love all of the food I have eaten at Petite Violette, but the crawfish etouffee entree that I had recently as part of their Mardi Gras menu was flavorless and disappointing. My husband loved his seared tuna entree. We both enjoyed the gumbo soup and the bread pudding. Our server Eric is very knowledgeable and let us taste a few wines before we decided upon the glasses of wine that we loved. I know that most of the entrees at Petite Violette are delicious, as I am there once a month for a group luncheon, so one "off" entree every now and then is acceptable. The entire staff is very friendly and helpful.

So, this review actually covers numerous visits. I ate here 30 years ago when it was Petite Auberge and I live in Atlanta. Recently I attended a four day conference and stayed at a hotel within walking distance. I ate lunch there the first day and it was outstanding, and, as I was by myself, I ate dinner there each night for three nights. The food is outstanding: All meals were excellent. I had a special shrimp dish for lunch with French onion soup, and for dinner I had Beef Wellington, divers scallops (outstanding--the best entree), and a filet mignon. Everything was cooked excellently. The wine list is not extensive, but is good and reasonably priced. I also had dessert, also excellent. The food is superb value for money; although it isn't inexpensive, it is well worth the price. Highly recommended.

This restaurant is less than a mile from our house and we have always wanted to visit as it always appears to be busy. We finally got the chance to go and I am so glad we did. It is extremely quaint and perfect for a special occasion. The acoustics are nice, so nice that you you can hear everyone at your table without yelling. The food was so yummy! You must get the escargot. I had the lamb and it was cooked to perfection. Service was also great. And a band was playing some nice, light music. Overall, the experience was perfect and I would highly recommend to others.

Petite Violette had a special New Orleans menu when we were there on Saturday. I ordered the jambalaya and my date ordered the etouffee. These two entrees were so-so, nothing special. We were both a bit disappointed as we are regulars at Petite Violette and enjoy Dinner and a Diva.
We'll stick to the regular menu from now on. The service is good. We have our special waiter but he was working other tables on Saturday.

Me and my wife had a great date night dinner at Petite Violette. The food and wine were both very good. We started with the mussels and then ordered the beef short ribs and the lamb chops both which were excellent. Our server was named Vivian and she was very helpful in making suggestion and taking care of us throughout the evening. This was our first time here and we will definitely come again.

It was a cold, miserable rainy day but we had a lovely lunch starting with onion soup which was hot, cheesy and delicious. We split a Reuben sandwich, also top notch. Lovely servers who apologized for keeping us waiting. There is a cozy ambiance and it was easy to converse - such a treat with the noisy volume in most restaurants today. All in all a lovely experience.

For a French Restaurant, it really wasn't true French. One thing right off the "bat" was the singer who thought she had a voice, but didn't fair well in that dept. Our server was nice even though he was sweating profusely, he was attentive and wasn't a pest like some servers. I had the Beef wellington and while the beef was cooked the way I like it, it seemed to have that "tenderizer flavor" to it. The pastry was good also. I also had the escargot which was delicious swimming on heart shaped pastry shell with sherry cream sauce even the snails were on the small side. My wife had the coquel st.Jacque ( not sure of the spelling) which she said was extremely salty on top of mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach (also salty) which to her taste buds was way too much salt. She complained to he manager who kind enough to give us a free desert. Its a shame that the customer can't put the seasoning on their food instead of the kitchen who sometimes tends to over do it
