Nestled in the heart of downtown Western Springs, Petite Vie offers a menu curated with classic French dishes infused with Chef Paul Virant's signature flair. Spending time researching in France for inspiration, Virant has crafted every dish with meticulous attention to detail and a reverence for tradition.

Seating 65 guests, Petite Vie’s intimate space exudes the warmth and comfort of a traditional French brasserie, while seamlessly blending modern design elements. A collaboration between Virant, his wife Jennifer and long-time friend and designer Jody Tate, every detail at Petite Vie tells a story of meticulous craftsmanship and thoughtful curation.

Featuring French intricacy and layering, the space is a canvas of artistic expression, with artwork curated from both local talents and treasures acquired during the team's time in Paris. Framed prints, commissioned paintings, and a round antique mirror passed down through generations, adorn the walls, adding layers of intrigue.

First time at Petite Vie and we’ll be back. We sat at the counter and had dinner and a show watching the kitchen in action. Food was delicious! It was tough to decide on starters but the brandade on special was amazingly creamy and perfectly salty with cod and roe. Entrees were solid and well executed. The highlight was dessert - strawberry tart. The tart was creamy and luxurious while packing an acidic punch with the strawberry-rhubarb sauce on side. Already trying to decide what I will have the next time I visit Petite Vie.

Chef Virant and team were on point as always. First time at Petite Vie. Spritz drinks are creative and well executed.

Petite Vie has quickly become our favorite restaurant in the Chicago suburbs. The food is consistently outstanding and the wine list very good and well matched to the food. We've tried most of the dishes on the menu and have loved everything (especially the duck confit, gnocchi and foie gras mousse). In addition, the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and attentive and the sommelier particularly helpful in finalizing our wine selections. We were aglow from the food, wine and conversation long after we left and can't wait to return!

Petite Vie is outstanding! Food overall is fantastic! C Shortbread crust of the orange tart was very thick/tough to cut with a spoon. Received the wrong appetizer but sent it back and received the correct one, really worth it, foie Gras with apricots!

I think it's the best restaurant in the Western suburbs. The food is great, but the vibe makes it special. I'd sit at the bar/counter and watch them cook. There are several classic dishes like the pork, the steak frites and the chicken are always going to work, but I love trying out the specials. Ask for wine suggestions with your meal. And get the bread.

We waited over 20 minutes for a reservation. Mind you, I’m 6.5 months pregnant and they let us stand there waiting. While waiting, we were asked what we wanted to drink. They never came back to get our order nor did they comp anything from our tab. The food was very good- we had the escargot, gnocchi, the burger, and the trout. However, the food all came out really fast so we felt rushed.

Very good place. Perfect for a romantic evening. Candles weee a nice touch. Duck and escargot were excellent. Nice wine selection.
