Petite Chou Bistro & Champagne Bar
The best . Always the best. The frites are the best you will ever have ever. Same with the French onion soup . Petite Chou is my first choice always .
This is a great restaurant. I almost hesitate to say so because I want to keep it all to myself - it is smallish and intimate, with a very relaxed vibe and unlike many contemporary restaurants, it is quiet and unhurried. You never get the sense they are trying to turn tables here. The food is exemplary, very French but not fussy, with a number of innovative turns on classic French cuisine. It is moderately priced and there are seasonal changes to the otherwise reliable menu. Highly recommended!
Great service!!! Mussels were the best. Lobster bisque was 8 out 10.
Lovely ambiance but food was just average and quite pricey. Server was pleasant and attentive but mixed up our bill and payment at the conclusion of the meal.
A great brunch location, but strikes out when it comes to dinner. Plating not only lacked artistry, but was outright unappealing. Entree flavors fell flat leaving us disappointed as we had expected quality similar to our previous experiences. A rare miss for the Patachou group.
Our guest showed up late for our reservation at 9:45 and although they were closing at 10 PM everyone was very accommodating to our party. We really appreciate it!
A wonderful experience for Valentine’s Day! Food was amazing, great wine recommendations, and a wonderful experience all around.
The food was lovely and the service was great. We were seated right in front of the live band that was performing for Valentines Day night, which my partner and I agreed was a little loud. However, it wasn't this way the whole evening which was nice. The food specials for Valentines Day were awesome and the cocktails and desserts that we ordered were wonderful. I have definitely recommend Petite Chou Bistro to multiple friends and I do hope to come back again for dinner soon. We have always enjoyed breakfasts there but had never tried the dinner till that night. Compliments to the chef and the staff.
The food and drinks here are always top notch. Michael is one of the best servers in Indy!
A group of us go out to eat at different places around town once a month. Cute place, inside is very small though which makes the noise level really high inside. We were practically screaming at each other over the noise level just to talk with each other. Food was great. Service was good. Would probably go back maybe during less crowded times so we wouldn't have to shout to talk with each other.
New Year’s Eve dinner . We have always enjoyed excellent food at Petit Chou - unfortunately tonight was not their usual excellence . Very disappointing when 2 of 3 selection in a 3 course meal were not available . The dinner was uninspiring .
Warm feeling but very small menu. The food didn’t really wow us and I felt the success of the business is told from how busy it is. The fact that it was Friday night and not busy just showed something needs to change with the menu and pricing. I did enjoy the item I ordered but I would not go again because that’s the only thing I would order again.
Loved the food and cocktails! Dessert was a little disappointing. Would go back.
The frites are the best you will ever have . Ever. People always think of Petite Chou for breakfast or lunch but dinner is my favorite time to go - coziest atmosphere its the best !
Ran out of mussels. Thanks
We had a wonderful evening with great food and excellent service. We had a group of 8 (most of whom had not been to the restaurant before) and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the experience.
The dining area is very crowded, the tables set so close together that the waiter jostled our table when serving the table next to us. And even when the band was on break, I had trouble hearing my companion from across our small table. The cocktail list is interesting, but the bartender's execution needs some work: my champagne cocktail was served in a warm (from the dishwasher?) glass.
On the upside, the food was cooked perfectly and served promptly. The live music was a perfect, authentic (1930's Gypsy jazz) accent to the food and the setting, and the band was very engaged with diners.
Love love love Petite Chou !
We celebrated our anniversary and the waiter was fantastic! He took such good care of us and was helpful in suggesting his favorites with passion. He was right on all points!
It is good french food and wine, need I say more! Plus it is reasonably priced.
Best. food .always. every time . Love the cozy atmosphere
Service and ambiance were top-drawer. The chicken paillard was excellent, but the crab cakes were over seasoned and the flounder lacked taste, although it was correctly cooked.
We will return for the other great aspects of this restaurant.
We absolutely loved Petite Chou. Food, atmosphere, service....everything was excellent. We will definitly return the next time we are in Indy.
Always delicious - Petite Chou is a weekly destination
Always consistent always delicious ! Love the ambience
Petite Chou continues to be one of our favorite spots to dine in Indianapolis. Martha Hoover has put together an eclectic menu and her wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback might be finding a parking space in Broad Ripple.
I was beyond pleased. This was my first visit...found information on #eathereindy I totally recommend
Amazing food and attentive staff.
We love this place, Latham always provides stellar service and makes the best cocktails!
I recommend the Chicken Paillard, burger, beet salad, champagne cocktails, duck frites and my friends say the bouillabaisse was phenomenal.
We have been to Petit Chou many (over 50 times- at least 1-2 times per month) and were surprised ( and somewhat shocked) today to see the changes. The menu has been severely shortened, and many of our favorite items (e.g. Chicken salad) were gone. I ordered the new chicken tartine, and it was mediocre and tiny (half the size of the previous chicken salad tartine but the same price). The lettuce salad with it was tired and wilted. Why are they doing this? They had a great formula, and they are scrapping it. We will have to think twice before ever returning. Dr. R. Browne
We went for the fried chicken. Great taste. But it was served almost cold. And it is supposed to be hot. The service was very slow. Our server did not explain why. Just ignored us for long stretches of time.
I'm willing to try again, as I loved the taste of the chicken.
Perfect patio ambience -had live music playing on patio for Bastille Day it was great! This is our hands down favorite dinner spot in Indy - a real gem!
This is one of our favorite restaurants when visiting Indianapolis. The contemporary French food is excellent. Parking can be a challenge, but that's just the way it is. My wife and I enjoyed the special jumbo shrimp with seafood sausage, served over a special succotash. It was superb, and just the right serving size for summer.
Service was awesome and everything we had was delicious. Love the duck fat fries and cocktails!
Love the setting....good food although my order was slightly mixed up...service was prompt
Best dinner spot in Indy . A local treasure. Food is fabulous never disappoints , cocktails are A++, ambience A+++ our favorite spot.
Everything is fantastic we dine here weekly it's our favorite dinner spot. Outstanding food and staff and atmosphere.
hints of true French Cuisine. The freshest of ingredients and great seasonal specials. Was in town for a horse show. Enjoyed it so much decided to go back again the next night. Was not disappointed.
My husband and I chose Petite Chou for our wedding anniversary; this was the best dinner I have ever had. I ordered the halibut and it was delicisious.
Patachou is one of our favorite places to eat. I have a gluten allergy and they always have things I can eat. We tried the trout and it was excellent. The food is always farm fresh from local providers. And good people watching if you sit on the porch
