We had a wonderful evening with great food and excellent service. We had a group of 8 (most of whom had not been to the restaurant before) and everyone commented on how much they enjoyed the experience.

The dining area is very crowded, the tables set so close together that the waiter jostled our table when serving the table next to us. And even when the band was on break, I had trouble hearing my companion from across our small table. The cocktail list is interesting, but the bartender's execution needs some work: my champagne cocktail was served in a warm (from the dishwasher?) glass.
On the upside, the food was cooked perfectly and served promptly. The live music was a perfect, authentic (1930's Gypsy jazz) accent to the food and the setting, and the band was very engaged with diners.

Service and ambiance were top-drawer. The chicken paillard was excellent, but the crab cakes were over seasoned and the flounder lacked taste, although it was correctly cooked.
We will return for the other great aspects of this restaurant.

Petite Chou continues to be one of our favorite spots to dine in Indianapolis. Martha Hoover has put together an eclectic menu and her wait staff is attentive but not intrusive. I highly recommend this restaurant. The only drawback might be finding a parking space in Broad Ripple.

We love this place, Latham always provides stellar service and makes the best cocktails!
I recommend the Chicken Paillard, burger, beet salad, champagne cocktails, duck frites and my friends say the bouillabaisse was phenomenal.

Overall 3food service ambience

We have been to Petit Chou many (over 50 times- at least 1-2 times per month) and were surprised ( and somewhat shocked) today to see the changes. The menu has been severely shortened, and many of our favorite items (e.g. Chicken salad) were gone. I ordered the new chicken tartine, and it was mediocre and tiny (half the size of the previous chicken salad tartine but the same price). The lettuce salad with it was tired and wilted. Why are they doing this? They had a great formula, and they are scrapping it. We will have to think twice before ever returning. Dr. R. Browne

We went for the fried chicken. Great taste. But it was served almost cold. And it is supposed to be hot. The service was very slow. Our server did not explain why. Just ignored us for long stretches of time.

I'm willing to try again, as I loved the taste of the chicken.

This is one of our favorite restaurants when visiting Indianapolis. The contemporary French food is excellent. Parking can be a challenge, but that's just the way it is. My wife and I enjoyed the special jumbo shrimp with seafood sausage, served over a special succotash. It was superb, and just the right serving size for summer.

Patachou is one of our favorite places to eat. I have a gluten allergy and they always have things I can eat. We tried the trout and it was excellent. The food is always farm fresh from local providers. And good people watching if you sit on the porch

I had the duck fat fries as an appetizer. I can't tell what is so special about them. The Rhone wine was excellent. Had the Croque Monsieur as an entree. It really is a Croque Monsieur. Seems a bit pricey. But I think it came with Gruyere Cheese which is really expensive in the US. So, overall a nice dining experience.

Love this gem of a place...high quality food, high value. The mussels were the best we've had in Indianapolis. Chicken crepe rich and such a neat change of pace. Farmstand salad and Omelette de Nuit all just perfect. The thick bread and creamy butter are a wonderful way to start the meal. Just perfect.

Nice ambience, very friendly personnel and very good service. For the food, it really depends what you pick and what you expect.

If you are looking for real French taste, you will be disappointed. Neither the "Steak Tartare" nor the "Croque Monsieur" have much in common with what you can expect to taste overseas. The only two elements of our dinner that reminded us of France are the bread, served with salty butter, and the wine, both very tasty. On the positive side, it did not take much complaining about the "Steak Tartare's" gross texture and poor seasoning to be offered to choose another dish, for free - this is part of why we rate the service as very good. Also, there are some tasty picks on the menu, like the "Crepes" - but again, do not expect French finesse.
