Just awesome. Great food and service.
The noise was so loud we had to leave before we finished dessert. There was one group of 16 people that really ruined it for everyone else in the restaurant. Too bad because we love Petit Robert. Our waiter ended up waiting on this group and completely ignored us and our guest had a birthday and they usually give a free dessert to the celebrant. Didn't happen. We had to order our desserts and coffee from the manager.
Hadn't been here for several years, so it was a treat to rediscover how cook the cooking is. Lovely onion soup and fabulous, nuanced escargots (you could really taste the parsley in the butter sauce and not overly salted). Braised lamb shank was just the right size, meat falling off the bone, sautéed polenta in a delicious wine sauce. A mouthwatering butternut squash risotto, rich and flavorful. Didn't have time for dessert (off to the BSO), but a most enjoyable meal!
A good way to spend a rainy Sunday brunch birthday celebration. Staff was very accommodating and attentive. A wide variety of choices on the menu. Easy to find something for everyone. Cozy space, not too crowded. We enjoyed our visit very much, and look forward to returning some day.
Simply delightful place to celebrate a special occasion. The cocktails are terrific and the food is divine. The portions are perfect.
Petit Robert is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. We love the atmosphere and the food is always scrumptious. We made a last minute reservation so we knew we were going to be seated in the pub area. One nice thing I noticed when we were there was that the dining tables in the pub-bar area had beautiful white table cloths and candles. It made such a difference to our dining experience in that room, to have the white table cloth. Nice touch!
Petit Robert has been serving basic, good French food for many years. The South
End restaurant is nice although a little tight with tables. Food was quite good. One big disappointment is their "pomme frites" are bland American fries - they use to be made the twice-cooked French way and thinly sliced.
We made an early reservation and arrived a little after 5:00 pm. We were quickly seated by the host and greeted by our waiter who served a tasty baguette and water. My wife has dietary restrictions and requested saumon grille over their salade de betteraves (roasted beet salad w/walnuts,arugula, feta cheese, pickled red onions and orange vinaigrette). I ordered coquilles saint Jacques (pan seared scallops with risotto, vegetables, baby kale and kale oil). We also ordered a side of sautéed brusells sprouts. My wife’s dinner cam out incorrectly with the wrong salad. I point this out only as a testament to their fantastic service. The waiter came over apologized and within a few minutes my wife had the correct dish. They obviously made this a first priority to correct the error. Her salad and salmon was excellent. My scallops were tender and tasty and the risotto..... the risotto was the best that I’ve ever had! If you are looking for an intimate dinner where you can truly have a conversation with your companion this is your place. They also have and extensive wine beer and drink menus and specials.
Parisian bistro experience with good food and service; we sat outside and enjoyed the cafe ambience.
We had a wonderful experience here this morning. The quiche Lorraine (today's offering) and Benedict (served daily) were quite tasty while the escargot, rivaled only by the service you'll receive, was absolutely magnificent.
I enjoyed the food, ambiance. Valet parking was helpful. Would go again
Good food. Great location. Fun atmosphere
Petite Robert Bistro is a comfortable neighborhood restaurant with a classic French atmosphere and menu. It is dependable for delicious food and a well selected wine list. The kitchen staff is very accommodating to those with dietary issues and food allergies. We are blessed to have Petite Robert Bistro a short 10-12 minute walk from our home.
Food and service was wonderful. Somewhat noisy in the dining room.
Our pre-theater dinner was quite good and I would gladly go back for the good food I was served. On a Friday night, however, the restaurant was filled quite early and the service was slow. Still I plan to go back.
I took my wife for Valentine's Day dinner and it was amazing. The owner/manager made us feel welcome the moment we walked in despite it being busy for the holiday. The host made sure that we knew we were not forgotten as they set our table, even though we were early for our reservation. The server knew the menu and the wine/cocktail list cold and his recommendations were spot on. The food was everything that we hoped for in french cuisine.
The charcuterie board was generous. The mustard lamb crusted lamb was melt in your mouth and the chocolate opera trilogy was both decadent and airy.
We will certainly be returning.
My fiance and I had a wonderful Valentine's day at Petit Robert. The staff was kind and made us feel well talen care of. Weve been here befpre on her birthsay and felt it wpuld be great to cpme back. We were not disappointed! We highly recommend it!
They were very nice about accommodating dietary issues (although unfamiliar with FODMAP / IBS). Service was very slow, however, even when we were the only two people there.
First off, we had a great time, as did (as near as we could tell) every one else in the restaurant. The noise level was just a teeny bit higher than I'd like (with the restaurant about 1/3 full), but there was no obvious sign, as is some high end restaurants, of tin ceiling or other tricks to make the room too loud for people to want to linger after their meals. The tables were also just a bit too close. Neither of these would keep us from going back. We'd been regulars at a different instance of the restaurant until it closed -- this was the first time to this location and we weren't disappointed. The only (small) complaint was that I requested, in my reservation on Open Table, that my companion be presented with a particular drink (with romantic associations for us) as soon as possible after we were seated, but -- although other restaurants have honored this request -- it did not happen here.
We were welcomed immediately. The staff was so friendly and warm.
The food was fresh and delicious!
I just wish we lived closer to enjoy this little gem more often.
Excellent meal with great service. Always a pleasure to eat here
Try the coq au vin. Very good to find a place that does this item done well.
This bistro seduces you with fantastic food, drink and staff. A wonderful dining experience!
Food was very poor. The egg in their Benedict was fully cooked and no runny at all. No one even bothered to check it out food was good.
Excellent experience!! The staff were all so pleasant and helpful. Food was authentic and tasty. The desserts we're AMAZING. Highly recommend!
always love coming here; the service, the food, the feeling of being in a true little french bistro, never disappoints!
A lovely place to dine. I particularly enjoy this restaurant when it's cold outside. It's so warm and cozy and I love the onion soup. But everything is excellent. A real neighborhood gem.
Excellent omelettes and very attentive service. The desserts were a little overpriced, but nice anyway.
Completely average for the current Boston gastronomic selection. A nice option for a single visit many better choices out there.
I’m pretty sure the pate trio was what got me sick after the meal - the waiter was always nowhere to be found in such a small restaurant and all three dishes we had were terrible. We had the pate trio, mussels, and mushroom risotto. Stay away from this restaurant!!! No wonder why there are extra points offered for booking.
Lovely spot on Columbus Avenue. A walk from the hotels - but through nice neighborhoods. Takes about 30 minutes from the Park Plaza Hotel. We love the food, the service is excellent and the ambiance very good. Wish the tables were not so close together but it is still worth the trip.
Thank you so much Petit Robert Bistro for making my birthday dinner so special!
We were looking for a new place for dinner before Huntington and found this online. We all enjoyed the cozy friendly atmosphere, attentive service and our dinners and drinks. We plan to go again and allow more time for dessert as well.
Feels like an actual French bistro. Great food and friendly staff.
the food and service were great but the temperature in the restaurant was too hot. It was pretty uncomfortable.
Has been better on previous occasions. A loud nearby table made it hard to converse. And the food was a little disappointing. The broccoli and pea soup was good, but not great, the roast chicken was ordinary and a little dry, and the hollandaise was too thin.
I'll probably give them another chance, since it's usually been better. But this one was a bit disappointing, especially given the price.
Petit Robert Bistro is one of my favorite restaurants in Boston. The Service and food never disappoints.
We hadn't been to the Bistro in several years, but it is as good as I remember. The food is delicious, served piping hot, and not laden with heavy sauces. The wait staff was professionally friendly - not condescending. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.
Food and service was very good! They even split the dishes we were sharing before bringing to the table which was super nice.
Petit Robert on Huntington is a great place to go for an informal night out and/or a quiet conversation--excellent service, cozy atmosphere, food is very good....
