Once again, Petit Robert delivers. Excellent food and service. We will definitely be back.
The servers were all the time very polite and friendly. The food was very tasty and regarding the selection of French wines I highly recommend the red wines (Pinot noire and bordeaux.
Great dinner before the BSO concert! Great food and value!
Great meal, excellent service
My friend was celebrating her birthday and wanted to go to a charming, small South End restaurant with ambience and a delicious menu. I immediately thought of Petit Robert Bistro. I requested a table for four by the windows and they accommodated that. I love that restaurant! Always a go-to for us.
Great date night experience. If you are looking for a nice romantic spot with great wine and tasty dessert, then I would highly recommend it.
We came for brunch. The place was not crowded so fairly quiet. The food was delivered promptly and was quite good. Pricing was reasonable. We'll definitely go again.
Always a good quality meal. We come here when going to Symphony Hall.
Overall a good experience. The food was good not great. Relaxed atmosphere and not loud at 8 pm on a Friday night. Salads were very good as was desert.
This was our annual celebration of New Year’s Eve—an early supper at Petit Robert. It was perfect, and we’ll return on December 31, 2019 to do it again! (And many more times before then!)
Love this place. Great food.
Food was excellent. The restaurant is in a great spot in the South End. Everything about it was perfect.
Well worth a visit , tasty food , very proffesional service , cosy and warm .
PR Bistro has been a go-to place for years to bring out-of-town guests. Our experience has always been a welcoming, cheerful vibe, really good food, professional, but friendly service. Evenings there have been special and fun. This last time (maybe the last time?) wasn't that at all. No welcome. Grumpy valet. Professional but cold server. And the two who ordered the roast chicken said it was very dry. Wondered if PRB is winding down. There was no élan.
Outstanding starters and authentic food. Yum! The escargot and boeuf tartare were exceptional.
Always superb service. I wish I could eat here every day. Happy New Year!
My wife and I started a Christmas tradition about 5 years ago by having Christmas dinner at Petit Robert. There aren't many restaurants open on Christmas Day except the hotels and Chinese places so Petit Robert has become our go to place. We have never been disappointed with the food, the service or the overall ambiance of this restaurant. One thing we really appreciated was that although they have a special Christmas Day menu the entire regular menu is also available and you can mix your choices from either one. I choose the Seafood Risotto with Grilled Sea Scallops from the Christmas menu but also had the Escargot from the regular menu. Both were excellent. We shared a piece of their excellent Tart Tatin served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for dessert. We dine at Petit Robert at other times of the year but Christmas dinner always fees special at this restaurant.
We went there on Christmas morning at 11:30 for the first time. Had a table for 2 right by the window with a view of the church across the street. Enjoyed holiday drinks, escargots and delicious crepes. Very attentive service and cozy ambiance . Will definitely go there again.
Always beautifully done. Outstanding staff and food!
Want to feel like you're in a Parisian cafe? This is the place. Great French cuisine - amazing sauces and unique menu items - things you'd only find in an authentic French restaurant. Good wine options! Service was friendly and not intrusive.
Our third Christmas Eve here. Our new tradition and it hasn’t disappointed. Great service! Food was hot and delicious.
We had lunch on Christmas Eve, and we couldn't have chosen a better spot. The welcome was warm, and the food was delicious. So great to have such a comforting spot in the neighborhood. I think we just started our new holiday tradition.
We (me, my wife and fifteen-year-old twins) went to Petit Robert Bistro before the Holiday Pops concert, so we had a relatively early reservation. Since we live in the ‘burbs we were taking a chance... Just before leaving for the restaurant, I looked up a few negative reviews on Yelp so I was a little nervous, but the host and wait staff were charming and helpful; the food was excellent; the valet parking was very accommodating. We found it to be a lovely place. The clientele was a mix of older and younger people, some in nice dress, some casual; a few families with young kids (all well-behaved).
We had the mussels (excellent - lovely sauce), a special salad (I forget which, but delicious), two of the special fish entrees (swordfish and bacon-wrapped monkfish) and a scallop entree. All were delicious. Our server suggested “One Giant Profiterole” as dessert, and we went with his suggestion. It was worth it!
As one (negative) reviewer noted, they brought glasses of wine without showing the bottle; I didn’t find that unnerving — the wine prices were standard for restaurant wine and it was tasty and appropriate.
The service was prompt but unhurried; everyone was attentive, professional and concerned that we enjoyed our meal. It cost less than I expected, and was a very worthwhile adventure.
Delicious meal in a lovely setting. Compared to two years ago when I was last there, prices are up and portions are smaller. Not the value it once was.
Do not recommend if on limited time. We sat for 45 minutes waiting for the soup of the day.
Staff are very attentive and kind, food is really good, and the general vibe is relaxed. The duck in particular was fantastic and would recommend to all.
Delicious food and perfect cocktails right near Symphony Hall. Great portions size and very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
Consistently delivers better than anticipated . Treat yourself
Very crowded and noisy. Tables really close together. Food was OK. Desserts were best.
It never disappoints. A keeper
See you soon
The food was excellent and the service very good. The noise level was excessive. Maybe sitting in another section would be less noisy.
This restaurant is a family (adults and grown kids) favourite, especially since we are in the neighbourhood. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is lovely. Lately, I would say our food experience has been rather mixed. On Sunday one of my sons and I had the steak frites. We both know what cuts are traditional, so we have context. A good steak is not tough, no matter the cut. More challenging cuts get marinated and seasoned. Our steaks were definitely tough - I did not enjoy mine enough to eat more than half of it. My other son had the steak tartare, and he enjoyed it, but said it was extremely salty - so much so that he had four large glasses of water when he got home. The other member of our group had the scallops, and said they, too - while tasty - were also very salty. I am putting this in a review in the hope that the folks who run it will pay attention, because we want to keep coming back!!
Absolutely lovely brunch. The ambience makes you feel like you are in Paris. Many patrons were speaking French around us. The crepes were delicious and our server was attentive but allowed us to take our time.
One of my absolute favorite restaurants in Boston!
Lovely! From environment to the food, it only got cold because they sat us near the door.
Fast service if you order all at once, with great (smallish) French onion soup and fresh salads.
As always -- a great evening. The food, the drink, the staff, the neighborhood atmosphere. It works.
