Duck was delicious!
This charming and very French restaurant offers a relaxed, intimate atmosphere, delicious, well-prepared food, and attentive service. We will return to dine at Petit Robert many times in the future.
Been here many times since it is a real favorite. Not every night is as delicious as others but always good. This particular night was good not fabulous. But no complaints. Specials are usually extra great and I always love the mussels. Butter lettuce plain salad is just right, light and the perfect pre entiree.
Service was attentive and timely.
Great food and drink. Gracious service. Lovely bistro atmosphere.
Our 4-year old grandson lives in the neighborhood and really likes Petit Robert so we decided to take him for an early supper after his first concert at Symphony Hall. Waitstaff were great with him - it wasn’t very crowded so it didn’t feel like we were disturbing other diners when he got a bit exuberant. Enjoyed our dinner very much.
lovely experience, tho at a very quiet time of day (3:00 on a sunday).
Wonderful all around!
love this place they make all their own terrines, mouse, pate all super delicious. just the right amount of classic french and modern. also have a great selection of french wines and sparkling very reasonably priced. wait staff makes you feel like you're in france
Amazing French bistro menu, lovely wine list.
Great traditional French food at reasonable prices. I love the liver & onions (not on many menus) & the tarte tatin - a specialty at Maison Robert in the day. A lovely place for any lunch or dinner.
We had a wonderful time and managed to get served complete with dessert before the symphony
My soup was bad but I was cold and hungry so I ate it. And my side dish smelled fish and there was no fish on my plate. The food was definitely not what we were used to getting when we used to go more frequently.
This was a lunch with 4 women. We are searching for a replacement for Brasserie Jo's, where we had lunch monthly for years.
Petit Robert was almost empty, which was pleasant. The food was good, although Luke warm and the omelets a bit overdone and dry.
The service, while perfectly polite, was EXTREMELY SLOW. We were not brought nor offered bread, yet saw it on the men's tables nearby. When we finally asked for it, it came in two baguettes - not sliced, and no bread knife. (The men's baguettes were sliced.)
The food, three omelets and a quiche, took way too long to come out. Again, with no bread on the table until I asked for it after waiting for 25 minutes.
So: I would recommend this with a huge asterisk: Tell the waiter you want bread. Ask how long the food takes to prepare.
Disappointing as I've had very good dinners there. Seems a skeletal and disengaged wait and kitchen staff there during the day.
Hidden gem! Like a little escape to Paris. Food was delicious! Great wine too!
I would recommend the restaurant but mention that it can be extremely noisy.
Always outstanding. We love the menu and the wait staff is very accommodating
We had a nice evening. My husband and I ordered the Cog au Vin which was very good, but there was almost no meat. Otherwise, good as usual.
Attentive service, great food, good wine, not sure what else you could ask for!
It’s my go to neighborhood place. The food is always good and I can usually get a table or seat at the bar.
Lovely. Service was excellent, food was delicious. House red wine was smooth. Definitely would go back.
Really lovely place for excellent and reliable food and wine before a show. Relaxed and unpretentious and just right. Delicious. Friendly.
Thank you for the delicious food.
Although the restaurant was less than half full the wait staff seemed a bit iffy in execution, but all were very pleasant.
I had raclette which was very uninspired, a few pieces of cold meat and potato halves with cheese. My wife had scallops which were a bit better.
I asked for a single malt and was advised that there were none in their bar.
This place is definitely overrated.
Merveilleux! Very French in feeling even though the waiters and staff are not. Food is consistently excellent. Try the pates. The fish good and well cooked. Salade Nicoise should't come in a bowl but who is arguing? Excellent beers and quality wines. Wonderful Tarte Tatin, Musse is a MUST
was a bit loud and tons of traffic but great service and food
The food was good although duck was a tad dry and could’ve used a bit more sauce. Server was knowledgeable but could’ve been a bit friendlier.
I love the feeling of the small room, the lighting and mostly the food. It is bistro but better. I try to choose from the specials but the authenticity of things like liver or moules is a real pull to order.
Very good food and good service. We has the Escargot, Oysters, Steak Frites and Scallops. All was delicious and authentic.
Everything was perfect. From soup to salad to deserts- excellent . We sat in the front ( it was lunch) where there were no people ( dining in the back) so it was private and quiet. Server was wonderfully attentive but not intrusive.
It was moderately expensive but portions were a good size.
We will definitely return as it was conducive to a good time.
“French” restaurants in the U.S. —often — are not at all French. But Petit Robert is really French. French was being spoken at several tables; we had the sense that this was a home-away-from-home ... the restaurant is small and beautiful, and tables for two are not on top of one another, so it’s the best kind of cozy. The food was wonderful: frisée salad and onion soup, boeuf bourgignon and foie de veau and mousse au chocolat... great bottle of Cahors and coffees... terrific and non-obtrusive waitstaff, decent prices (you will see what I mean if you compare these prices to other places in Boston). Lovely experience.
Great meal. They never disappoint. Where most restaurants in Boston aren't worth it, Petit Robert is excellent.
Delicious food and great service. Love the atmosphere
Perfect Valentines dinner- excellent service and staff - delicious food. Great atmosphere- love the balloons!!!
Well prepared food. Overall a good place to have a quality meal.
Wonderful food. Flavorful and cooked perfectly. Great service. Lovely cozy atmosphere.
The food was wonderful and the prices reasonable. Very charming little spot.
Perfect Sunday afternoon date. Brunch and cocktails were so delicious and the service was exceptional. We were seated in a cozy window spot and had the most wonderful time.
Mediocre food and service. We (two of us) ordered one appetizer and two entrees to share. We got the appetizer in a timely manner. Literally two minutes later-- we had taken only a bite each of the foie gras appetizer-- the entrees arrived. There was hardly space on the table to even fit all of the dishes and we were left deciding whether to finish the appetizer and let our entrees get cold, or forfeit the appetizer completely. We ended up delving into the entrees and realized they were pretty mediocre. Also noteworthy that the space can get pretty crowded and noisy.
The food was great, service great and the a,Bianca was like a Paris bistro. Unfortunately it was very noisy and there was a birthday party with 12 very noisy participants who didn't seem to have any consideration for others in the cramped restaurant space.
Went for the brunch and it was amazing. It blew me away with its atmosphere and the food for brunch. Would love to come back for dinner. Highly recommended.
