Petit Robert Bistro Columbus Avenue
Super. We really enjoyed the food. Very atmospheric.
Service was excellent - mindful but unobtrusive. Food was also excellent. Great place to have a great meal with great conversation. Fairly pricy but worth it.
great food and atmosphere. been there a few times
Great food ans service, as always
Having enjoyed living in France, we were delighted to find a restaurant that espoused the same standards of food, service and congeniality in Boston. The situatuation - looking out the window across a broad avenue at a very appealing corner - makes one feel part of the neighborhood.
The meal was delicious and the service was good. The tables are a little close together but my dinner was allowed to be intimate and the appetizers and entrees were all excellent / enjoyable.
Haven’t disappointed yet!
I have dinned at Petit Robert Bistro many times over the past several years. The food is very good and the atmosphere is quite pleasant. This past Saturday (after the New Year's holiday), the restaurant was jammed packed at 7 PM. We had to wait to be seated. The table service was a bit slow that night.
Came abit early to a early reservation but no problem. Impressed that bistro nearly full despite early hr.
Very authentic french food. Excellent escargot snd beef bourgeon. Service very pleasant. Definitely go again.
Just plain very good. They do what they say and do it well. Thank you.
Perfect place to celebrate! The staff is warm, friendly and knowledgeable. The duck was done to perfection and the best part was it was not noisy and one could actually carry on a conversation. So happy to have discovered this sweet restaurant.
We dine at Petit Robert Bistro often, for both lunch and dinner, inside and on the patio. The food is great, and the service unfailingly charming. So we have begun enjoying our New Year’s Eve supper here. This bistro never disappoints!
The food and service at Petit Robert Bistro. Had an early dinner on New Year’s Eve that was perfect! Will definitely be returning.
This is my go to brunch place! Has the best eggs Benedict ever!
After seeing a movie on Christmas Day we had a lovely, romantic dinner at Petite Robert Bistro. We shared a nice salad with bib lettuce and toasted goat cheese (split for us in the kitchen) as a starter. I ordered the Coquilles Saint Jacque, which was a delicious, perfectly prepared entrée. The kitchen graciously deleted the potatoes and substituted mixed vegetables per my request. My husband loves the liver and onions entrée and orders that every time we dine at Petite Robert. My husband stuck with water, but I had a glass of the French Pinot Noir, which did not over power my entrée. The waitress was very accommodating, as was everyone at the restaurant. Petite Robert Bistro is a romantic European style neighborhood restaurant that exudes warmth and charm in a casual atmosphere. You can dress up or be casual and never feel out of place. My husband and I dine here often, both for brunch, lunch, and dinner, and often bring guests, who are always charmed.
Classic bistro fare with classic bistro ambiance. We fought over every slice of meat and pate on the charcuterie. One of our party ordered the kale salad, and when it arrived was guilted into sharing it with another of our party, while a third ordered his own. Mussels from the starter menu proved a satisfying dinner for one. The steak frittes and duck breast were rated "excellent" from two other diners, while a third enjoyed the risotto. The specialty cocktails were also a big hit.
Christmas Day brunch was leisurely and lovely. Food was very good, and the staff were very attentive. Bravi tutti.
As always this wonderful Bistro did not disappoint. The food is delicious, the ambiance cozy and friendly, and the setting perfect
Always wanted to get back to Petit Robert Bistro as I had never been disappointed and so happy the charm is still there! Sea scollops were the best I have had anywhere in a long time. We were 7 diners and all menu options from liver to beef were on the mark. The servers are attentive and it is a local gem!
Wonderful food and great service. Loved it and will be back.
When we finally got someone to serve us, he did a good job.
My mean was good, while my friend’s meal wasn’t good.
We love it here It never disappoints! The food is delicious.
We have lived in this neighbood since 2006 and this is our go to place for a casual meal that is consistently good. The service is wonderful and they always treat you like family. Great atmosphere and feels like a local French restaurant
Would have liked the choose of Lunch menu also as brunch is limited. Was good though.
It was okay. The service was very good; the waitstaff was attentive and kind. The atmosphere was nice, and the drinks were good. That being said, it was a bit unimpressive, overall.
FOOD: The food was fine, but didn't warrant the prices. The charcuterie special was a bunch of cold cuts plopped onto a board. Taste was fine, but presentation was poor. The risotto was bland. The steak frites was fine, but forgettable. It looked like something from The 99. The steak was overly salted. The frites were on-point, but the vegetables seemed like they came from a frozen bag (my wife also kept hearing the microwave being used, so this wouldn't surprise me). For the price, I had been hoping for something a little more thoughtfully put together and memorable. Perhaps my expectations were too high.
ATMOSPHERE: Atmosphere was cozy. It was quiet when we first arrived (early for dinner), but filled in nicely and wasn't too loud. I did regret my decision to ask for a window seat, when a police officer decided to tow a car out front and kept his lights blaring into the restaurant for 40 minutes until the tow was complete (not the restaurant's fault, but something to note). The big complaint here was the seating. The chairs have no cushion, so after an hour of hard wooden seats, we were sore.
SERVICE: Service was excellent and truly saved the meal. The waitstaff was kind and courteous, and attentive to us, even being the furthest table away. Service was prompt.
OVERALL: In all, it was okay, but didn't live up to expectations based on the other reviews here and the price point they've positioned themselves at. While not entirely disappointed, we weren't overly impressed, either. I wouldn't seek it out to go back, honestly.
There was barely anyone in there for brunch on a Saturday morning. The quality of the food was fine, I had eggs Benedict. Was around $21 with tip which I think is ok for eggs benny and a coffee but it should be superb quality, which it wasn't. Waiter was fine but kind of awkward. It was mostly so awkward because legit we were the only ones in there.
Love it. Go there
Thisis my favorite restaurant. Consistently great
We had a corner table near the window. Our server approached quickly and asked about drinks. The selection of wines by the glass was very good. There are many choices of apps and entrees and certainly enough to satisfy most diners. We shared a delicious burrata and a salad with grilled asparagus. The ingredients were fresh and nicely presented. The timing was excellent with dinners arriving with enough time between courses. We had scallops that were melt in your mouth and the classic beef bourguignon. The meat was tender, juicy, and nicely seasoned. The accompanying vegetables were seasoned as well and served al dente. We ordered a latte and cappuccino and dessert. Our drinks came quickly and by the time dessert arrived my latte was cool. I asked our server to redo the latte and he quickly came back with a new cup. The whole experience was outstanding from the beginning to end. We will return the next time we are in Boston.
I would say this is more of a $$$ than a $$. The food was just OK.
As always, the food and service were excellent. My business colleague and I had a most enjoyable dinner and the pleasure of a three-hour conversation without ever feeling pressured to leave.
Enjoyed a delicious dinner here! Food and service were both very good! Smoked salmon appetizer was delicious, but needed more bread. Then we thoroughly enjoyed the coq au vin and beef bourguignon! We were seated at the far end of the dining room, which was nice as it was quieter than being in the center. We'll definitely return!!!
Charming setting, but very noisy. Food good but disappointing. Even classics like beef bourguignon and coq au vin were surprisingly average, the beef not tender at all. Service good to very good. Also interesting that for a busy, two-room restaurant, they had only ONE restroom!
Birthday dinner was great service food was delish
Warm space, friendly, delicious...a must go to whenever I’m in Boston.
Fantastic food! We love eating at your restaurant! Wish we lived closer than an 8 hour drive. The ratatouille is outstanding. The salmon too
The ambience , service was excellent . Very pleased to know they had their usual menu as none of us like turkey dinner . The food and the menu options were excellent we had oysters s great vegan soup salmon and steak with great fries . The fresh and hot bread was also excellent
The restaurant is bisected by the entrance to the apartments above- the restaurant entrance is to the right of that. Once inside, the space is split between bar and dining room. Both were quiet but not empty at lunchtime. Classic white table linens and attentive but not hovering service complimented a terrific Parisian omelette and short rib Croque Monsieur that were shared. Both were accompanied by delicious frites! I'll be back...
Service was excellent
Three of us had liver and onions and bacon
Favorite thing when we go there
