We hadn't been to the Bistro in several years, but it is as good as I remember. The food is delicious, served piping hot, and not laden with heavy sauces. The wait staff was professionally friendly - not condescending. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience.

Food and service was very good! They even split the dishes we were sharing before bringing to the table which was super nice.

We enjoyed a delicious brunch in a charming atmosphere that allowed us to forget the subzero temps outside. Service was gracious and efficient. We both had the special fish of the day -- a light and tasty cod with polenta and vegetables, without any overpowering sauce to obscure the obvious freshness. We started with the vegan tomato soup which was perfect on the cold day and a house smoked salmon appetizer which was perfectly sized as a starter and also simply delicious. Very fairly priced and thoughtfully selected wines by the glass rounded out our Saturday noon escape. Look forward to returning often.

Made NYE dinner reservations. They were very accommodating and ready to seat us when we arrived, amidst a full house. It's a French restaurant, but don't let that intimidate you, if you're not gung-ho on French food. The preparation is wonderful and the portions are ample. Will definitely be back!

We love the French ambiance of Petit Robert Bistro. The food and service are excellent without being too precious. We love it for special occasions or just to make an occasion special.

Petit Robert remains a favorite. We went here for my birthday. My wife's Coquilles Saint Jaques were fabulous as was my lamb shank. I always start with the incredible escargots and end with the chocolate mousse which is my favorite dessert and they do it perfectly here. They tend to have wait staff from France which is a nice touch and our waiter was friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Went to Petite Robert on Christmas. The food was excellent. My Chilean Seabass was perfectly cooked and the roasted vegetables were delicious. My husband enjoyed his veal chop. Unfortunately there was a large party that arrive as we did. This resulted in a very noisy environment and a delay in our seating at a tiny corner table. If this had not been the case, the evening would have been perfect.

Food was very good. Service was excellent. The room is charming and cozy. Oddly, my only complaint would honestly be that the seats are very hard unpadded wood chairs like the ones in old public schools. Not very comfortable at all. Guys when Tournedos Rossini is $44 it would be nice to not feel like we were sitting on a park bench.

Three of us went here for Christmas dinner. Two of us ordered the grilled salmon and one ordered the beef bourguignon. All meals were delicious. Our server, Nicolas, was professional and courteous. Highly recommended!

This is a good neighborhood spot that is always quite lively. The Onion soup is quite good as are the profiteral and creme brule deserts. The service is friendly and prompt but not at all overbearing and the prices are reasonable.

Quant bistro with a nice view of the skyline. We dined after a Holiday Pops performance and the walk was reasonable. Good french classics, leisurely pace.

I go here at least once at this time of year. Menu does not change, though there are daily specials. Food is very authentic and excellent. Service is attentive but not overly. I love the beef bourguinon and coq au vin. My partner had escargots, which we said were excellent, though she would have preferred less spinach. Apple tarte tatin was spectacular - sorry I did not take a photo.

I had lunch with a friend at Petit Robert Bistro. I love the location in the South End. The restaurant really feels French the way it's laid out with the entrance and dining rooms. The food was excellent. A number of other guests coming in seemed to be regulars and were recognized accordingly by the restaurant staff. The atmosphere was quiet. I already recommended the bistro to three people at work today and will absolutely plan to eat there again.

This is truly the very best and most authentic French food in Boston. Just outstanding. Intimate Bistro style dining room, tremendously professional and attentive service. We will be there as often as we can. Very highly recommend.

Very nice ambience and decor but food was just ok. Would steer away from the pate, poor presentation and accompaniments. Cod was well flavored but either was under the warmer too long or overcooked. Waiter was very pleasant.

The food was delicious and our waiter was very nice and attentive. There is also a gorgeous view of the prudential. It was an overall really good experience. I do wish I had known how noisy it would be and how causal the setting is. The prices don't really reflect the casual ambience.

We came for the Thanksgiving fixed price special. Food was very good, and the service was excellent-prompt, unobtrusive, but always there when needed. A very relaxing meal. This is our 2nd year to do this.

After a terrible experience at their Needham location we were hoping for a better dining experience in Boston. Unfortunately that was not the case. Deafening noise in the restaurant limits your own conversation, terrible service accompanied by no French baguette, bland escargots, “ok” swordfish and totally dry, dense not fresh tasting bouef Bourguignonne really left us with a “bad taste”. Nothing French here. Sorry.

Overall we were disappointed with our Evening. The food was marginal Or our expectation might have been set too high. This was our first visit. The Escargo did not have enough seasoning and should have been served in its shell. The portions were small and it was the first time we left with room to spare.[ We are Not Large sized people ] Our waiter was OK.but we felt a little rushed. The spacing on seating was tight. I must admit that we had been in France two weeks ago and this might have Prejudiced our review. However we eat out a lot and host Gourmet meals for friends and Family.
