We were thrilled to find a fine place for lunch on a Monday. The meal was superb (steak frites and salmon, delicious cheese plate, and divine ile flottante dessert) with friendly waiter who spoke French to us at our request given we’re French speaking novices who wanted tonoractice speaking, very comfortable seating, and overall a perfect atmosphere. We’d definitely go back.
Inviting spot with varied menu and interesting wine list. The wait staff is wonderful and attentive. The Google menu and the restaurants website differ in price-go to the website. We'll be back!!
Great food and ambiance.
Excellent food and lovely service. Very charming venue - comfortable and gracious. Not rushed, servers were not hovering trying to refill your water glass, but available and prompt. Great dinner. We'll be back!
Great food, great service- I felt like the whole team was taking care of us, and it was quiet enough that we could have a good conversation. What more can you want?
Continued Perfection! Julian as always enhanced the experience tenfold with his professionalism, suggestions, and warmth. Best original French food in Boston with a twist. Calm, inviting. Cheers. -Dave and Larry
Great meal as always
Petit Robert is always excellent. The chef is terrific and caters to special requests.
We had a very nice brunch with excellent service. My wife and I had French Toast and a Parisienne Omelet with a side of bacon and both were tasty and plentiful. We stayed at the Colonnade hotel and it was only a 7 minute walk into the south end. Next time we stay in Boston we’ll be back for brunch. Highly recommend this bistro.
Very nice ambience- a bit noisy but it was Saturday night. Food was very good, if we lived in the neighborhood we would go often!
Lovely little bistro with excellent food and service. Brunch was delicious. So pleasant to find simple French classics on a menu, really well prepared (escargot, pate, etc.) Charming restaurant.
Outstanding food with attentive waitstaff and yummy balanced wine list.
Great spot for French food. My family was visiting and they travel to France every year so I wanted to pick something authentic. Everything was really good, nothing too interesting- very safe French menu.
Unbearably noisy. Average food. Horrible service. Server was unfriendly.
Lovely place, good food. Good spot before show or symphony
If you love French bistro food this is a gem. Consistently great food and good service. Great neighborhood vibe and good for both a special occasion and a more casual dinner.
Great food, great night
We chose Petit Robert Bistro to get as close as we could to a Parisian experience. Service, food, ambiance were wonderful. Will go back for special occasions, as it is expensive for us.
My wife and I were very disappointed by our meal. We had been expecting good French cuisine, but the reality was mediocre. And I have never in my life before had to send two bottles of the same wine back - it must've been a bad batch.
Regrettably, we can't recommend the bistro to others.
Nice neighborhood joint. Cute. Quaint. Good food. Looks to have lots of regulars.
Sunday Brunch is a must if you are ever in the area!
I really enjoyed siting outside on Saturday afternoon and watching the people go by. I had french toast which was delicious. Others at the table had a hamburger and eggs benedict. Everyone loved it and we will definitely be going back again. The drinks are a little expensive but very tasty. The Kir Royal peach and the Kir Royal Raspberry were great.
Have been to Petit Robert on multiple occasions. The maitre'd was extremely understanding and amenable, as we were caught in much traffic on the Mass Pike and arrived late for our appointment (we called in twice to keep them informed). Given that as a result we were on a bit of a tight timeline, we greatly appreciated the quick service. Food was classic bistro style and delicious. We went with a couple of classics--Steak Frites and Coq au Vin--and were not disappointed. The side of Brussels sprouts was fantastic. We will return, on time, and enjoy a longer stay and certainly a dessert. Thank you!
I would recommend you do appetizers and dessert only. Neither of us liked our main course. I did not care for my coq qu vin and I tasted my friend's steak and was not impressed. Fries are nothing beyond mediocre. Fries are supposed to be a strong point for a French restaurant. Took forever to get my friend her DIet Coke. They delivered coffee without cream. Took forever to get that. They should have closed this one and kept the other Petit Robert open. Major screw up there.
Sat outside and enjoyed the evening! Definitely don’t sit outdoors if you’re not a dog fan, it’s very popular with the dog owners for dining :-) The pork loin was cooked perfectly and the French onion soup was delicious!
Really nice meals all around for our small group of 3. Service was quick and attentive, wine selection excellent, and room was quiet as most diners were outside on a nice evening.
Excellent pan fried cod. Nice wine. Excellent, personable service.
Great staff and food. Would recommend the cheese plate appetizer and the burrata. The risotto is also amazing. Kale side dish was a bit salty. We ordered every dessert on the menu and can safely say there were killer. Giant profiterole was the best of those.
way too noisy, something the owners could easily control for. diminishes the 'dining experience.'
French food that won't break the budget. Nice, fun place. Parking is a challenge but call ahead to see if valet is on duty.
We had great difficuly parking the car without valet service.
I ordered steak & egg for brunch. The steak was cold and slightly chewy. The poach egg is average. Cappuccino is good. Service is excellent.
First waiter was weird. Second waiter (first waiter left?) Was amazing and made our night.
Disappointing food; pleasant place.
Good location very good atmosphere, the Foods are Great and fresh, it Smells perfect. The Service is averaged
Fabulous meal, great service
Had a very enjoyable unrushed sidewalk cafe dinner
Meal, preparation and flavors were spot on
We sat outside, so I can't comment on the noise level inside. Wine by the glass selection was fine. Boeuf Bourguignonne fell apart nicely on my fork and was very tasty.
Had a nice quiet dinner. Friendly staff. Food was tasty. All French menu and wine list which gives it that authentic feel. Will return to explore other items.
One of my favorite place to dine.
