I haven't been here for awhile because I live in Kenwood but was so happy to be back! Everything was perfect! Can't wait to go back again. I absolutely love this restaurant . The food is incredible! Actually, everything was outstanding.
One word: rats. This place has them out on the patio at night. Brazen rats up on chairs at empty tables, scurrying around on the floor. Really unacceptable.
Great ambiance. The massive exterior shoji screens are very cool. The service is excellent, super nice peeps, the veggie antipasto was superb, the small plates all really good, just very disappointed with the flatbread pizzas which both missed the mark. Neither had much going on, there was a lot of unadorned bread, and we all found the soft, flabby cool guanciale off-putting. Will return hoping they’ve upped their game on the pizzas or replaced them with more creative and tasty items.
We visited during restaurant week so the crowd and noise level may not represent the normal Tuesday night. We got a great table and the service was excellent: attentive and helpful, but not hovering. The food was of excellent quality, locally sourced. The menu is limited as a result, but everything is fresh and tasty. The Caesar Salad was dressed with a excellent flavor and a hint of anchovies. Minestrone soup was light, excellent flavor. No pasta involved so the flavors really came through. The pizza seemed to reach for the taste and texture of Tuscany but the crust just wasn't there. The flour is probably the reason, and it was a little too thin and cracker- like for my taste. That is not to say it wasn't good, the toppings were great. The deserts were heavenly. We will go there again, but may wait until the summer when there may be a better variety of local produce.
Delicious frittata and salad that included yummy fava greens. Nice presentation. Wait staff were warm and attentive. Price was very reasonable. My favorite brunch spot!
I've had many pizzas at Lowell's over the years, but the Neapolitan I had on the night I am reviewing was the weakest of them in a while, still good, but not up to the usual extraordinary that I've come to expect of this establishment.
It is a wonderful place with terrific food and friendly service
My favorite place in Sebastopol. A bit spends, but high quality.
The service was superb from start to finish. The outdoor patio with pond with lily pads is soothing and private. I asked for oil-free food and alternatives were provided. The food was exceptional.
Even though we are within a half an hour of closing everybody was so gracious. And we had a wonderful meal
The food was very good. I do not care for the required tipping
Took a friend there from out of town
Went for Restaurant Week. Between my wife and I we ordered one of everything. Outstanding. Was as good or better than our meals on recent trip to Italy. Highly recommend the pasta dish. We sat on the enclosed patio. More open and not as noisy as the main dining room. Get a table there if you can. Only minor complaint is when we took our food to go, they combined two dishes into one container. Green I guess. ;-)
Delicious food and accommodating staff. Check menu if you have food issues as they are somewhat limited but willing to work with you if you have special food needs. Nice spot and quite enough to chat even with a full house.
The wine selection was modest but well thought out. The food was delicately prepared and tastefully presented. Above all, the bartender Josh was very pleasant and a capable guide to the offerings.
Good food, not such great service - my coffee arrived cold, and it seemed ages before I could get the waiter's attention to get a warm cup. Generally slow service, be it was alright as we weren't in a hurry.
Like the ambience.
Lowell's is my favorite place to go when I'm in Sonoma County. On this particular night the waiter seemed a little distracted but the food, as usual, was wonderful from the first bite to the last.
Peter Lowell’s used to be my absolute favorite. Unfortunately the service is not good. Since the automatic 20% service charge was added a couple of years ago, the service has noticeably dropped in care and quality. Too bad!
The food is still great. I will still return but with lowered expectations.
My partner and I had the most lovely dinner there. All the food was spectacular, with a menu to cater to all needs, including vegan. Highly recommend the vegan sorbet sundae!!
First time, pleasant experience, good variety, will go back again.
Delicious osso bucco penne and fabulous pizza. Great service and outdoor patio. You can't go wrong unless you're looking for a huge menu.
Food was good not great. We had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation without any offers to apologize. We were asked to wait in a small alcove so we wouldn’t disturb other diners. Very limited menu. Not likely to go back.
Food was hot, delicious and beautifully presented. Staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. I love this place!
My wife and I had a lunch at Lowell's to celebrate a couple of January anniversaries. She had a minestrone and a panini with a chai latte -- she enjoyed all of it. I had a fish sandwich and the house coffee -- both were delightful. The fish sandwich was so juicy, I had to eat it with a knife and fork -- the bread was rustic and scrumptious.
Great service, quiet environment easy to have a conversation in.
Simple, healthy and delicious food at a local joint. We've been coming here for awhile, but not until we went there with out of town friends recently, who provided us feedback that they thought prices were high (they are from Berkeley). Upon reflecting on what upscale local restaurants charge, and what San Francisco city prices are with foodie menus, this restaurant is a bit on the high side, considering the food is not anything fancy. We will likely keep coming, but something for the management to think about.
My family and I had a pleasant time. My two granddaughters enjoyed their pizza, salad and desserts. My sons and I had a hearty and tasty meal. The ambience was conducive to lively conversation.
This place is highly overrated. The food was terrible and very overpriced. We were charged$4.50 for4 slices of bread which I thought was ridiculous. My entree was flavorless and the mushrooms were rubbery. The desserts were ok though. We’ll never go back
Food was ok - nothing special. To add 20% tip service should be excellent.
Dishes were very good but a bit small for the gentleman guest that came with us.
Favorite part of the meal was byfar the potato leek soup.
Just saying ...
Our waitress was friendly and helpful but misunderstood something that I said: I said no animal products; she heard no protein.
The secondary waitresses were not as friendly or helpful.
My companion thought all three were friendly, no problem.
Best Pizza and Caesar salad in town! Have been going for years!
My friend and I found the music too loud and the selection of music was not conducive to conversation, so had to ask twice to have it turned down. Finally, we also asked for different music! Please be aware of choosing music that works for the customers (and not just the staff)! When I eat out, I'm generally meeting a friend and most interested in connecting with that person.
I do like your wait staff; they are accessible and comfortable to communicate with. And I always find something that pleases my palate and works for my budget. Thanks for being......
The menu is EXTREMELY limited in its breadth. There were only 2 meat entrees. The service was a joke, so much that our table was assuming that our server was stoned! Plus they AUTOMATICALLY add a 20% gratuity to the bill (we were a table of 4!) I couldn't even tip what would be appropriate for the terrible service we received. Stay away as there are many better choices in Sebastopol.
Bring back the fish, lamb urges, and Ruben sandwiches!
Loved the Chicken Liver mousse, the Beet Arancini, Salads, Wine and the Pear Tart
Good as always and our friends loved it too
Although the vegetarian aspect of this restaurant was very good, the overall quality of the food was average. Cod was so so as was the ravioli. The vegetables were delicious! Service was good but the price for three epople was extravagant at almost $200. Will not be returning.
The food is excellent focusing on farm fresh and healthy ingredients.
The food was spectacular, as always.
Friendly service and just a great, cozy neighborhood
the food is good, the service was great. We were seated in the atrium, which would have been nice, but for the kids running around above us on the stairs and walkways yelling, which was quite loud in the atrium.
