Pete Miller's Steak & Seafood in Naperville Ratings and Reviews
Was expecting a great night music and food. Was very disappointed. Music couldn’t be heard food was cold and either under cooked or over cooked. Ordered their lobster bisque it came cold and vegetables were not cooked
Ordered lamb chops med rare they were cook and over cooked. Service was ok. They have a lot of kinks to get out.
This was the 4th time we visited this restaurant. it is very convenient to our home, and we were really excited when they opened. This is the 2nd time in a row where they could not cook our meat correctly. The last time we visited i order a Filet Medium Rare. It came out well done. When I sent it back the 2nd try it was blue. My family had finished their dinner so I just had them take it off the bill. We tried again with some friends. My wife ordered the dual filets and I had the lamb chops, both ordered medium. They were again delivered the table well done. On the 2nd try my wifes filets were successfully medium, but my lamb chops were rare. This will be the last time dine at Pete Miller's.
I was very disappointed. The server brought out the meat selection on a tray and then couldn't tell which cut was which. We asked for our salad dressing on the side which didn't happen. When or steaks were served they came out on cold plates. For the prices they charged, the experience did not earn it. I'll stick to Sullivan's or Eddie Merlots.
I was very excited to go to Pete Miller's Steak especially because of the live music. The food was very OK. I was disappointed that it wasn't better. Steak was just fine but nothing special nand a bit overdone. The french onion soup again ok but nothing special. I expected excellent food but got just OK
The staff was lovely and really dug the live Jazz.
It's still a new restaurant so will try it again as it may get better with some time here.
It was our first time here. We really enjoyed it. Our server was very attentive. She seemed a little nervous, but did a great job. They sat us right by the door to the kitchen. I wish we would have asked to move, but didn't want to seem high maintenance. We just moved to Naperville from Chicago. The price for the ambiance seemed a little high. It was really noisy and the live music while super fun, made it a little hard to hear. It was just my husband and I, but if we were with another couple it might be hard to hear conversation. We will be back to try again.
Our first time to Pete Millers and we had one of the best sirloin steaks and filets I have had since moving to Naperville. Shannon was our waitress and she was fantastic. Showed up at the right time, knowledgeable, friendly but not overly so if you know what I mean. Garlic mashed potatoes were great and we split the wedge salad which was plenty for two and delicious. I really recommend you give it a try - you will come away satisfied with your meal and full!
Went here for a NYE dinner and was very disappointed. Terrible service. Steak was way over cooked. Waitress never stopped by once food was served to ask how everything was. Very disappointed as it’s one of the only steak houses in south Naperville, but next time I will travel to downtown Naperville.
Our experience was good. I thought the music was very nice touch but too loud to be able to talk in the bar over the live music. My steak was supposed to be medium but it was definitely well done. As I got to the middle of the 7 oz. filet, is was medium well. It was already so late when we got our main entrees that I didn't want to send it back and get a new filet.
First time we had ever been to this restaurant was on NYE. We sat for 10 minutes before anyone ever came to the table and it was the waitress. We had to ask for water and bread (twice before we got any) and they were never replenished. We asked for a tasting of 2 different wines, she returned to our table with BARELY a swallow of wine. We returned them and got the manager who got us larger tastings prior to us buying a bottle. We split a ribeye steak and that was marginal, at best, and NO ONE EVER came over to see if it was cooked to order or how we liked it. We go out to dinner several times every week but based on this experience, I don't know if I would ever come back.
I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt since it was NYE but the restaurant was no busier than any typical restaurant on a Saturday night would be. We even TOLD the manager it was our first time visit -- that had no bearing on him ever coming back to ensure everything was going well. Very disappointing.
Took 25 minutes to get a waitress to table even after we asked another server to see who was supposed to take care of us and once we got a hold of manager we got someone. Then ordered as we were ready and Soup did not arrive for another 15 - 20 minutes. After over hour and 20 min and only soup left and advised manager. Others around us were seated 20 minutes after us and had appetizer, soup/salad and entree so we know it was not the kitchen.
I liked initial vibe, but it went bad fast. Each course had one or more mistakes. Service was more on PAR with a pub than a higher end steak house. Food was only OK when it wasn't wrong.
The basics are not covered, while the price on the receipt suggests things should be much better.
Waitress was excellent and responsive. Food was extremely mediocre ... crab cakes were dry and crusty with no dipping sauce ... lobster special had to be sent back to kitchen to be cracked and had very little meat ... scallops were rubbery and cous cous so salty my wife didn’t eat any... drinks were $14.00 compared to Opera House and Jimmy’s at $11.00. A huge disappointment for a $200.00 tab! My wife and I frequented Pete Miller’s in the NW suburbs and were always happy with our meal selection and believe this location will need to up the quality of their dinners.
OMG This place is awesome. Great Staff Great service Great Food. If you are looking for excellent steak this is the place for you. Upon entering I was greeted and felt very welcomed. The jazz band they had was a little loud but the amount of people in the building drowned it out so it was ideal. The waitress was excellent in giving us the specials and accompanying wine list. Perfect timing on the appetizers and the entrees. The best part was the time that was given between appetizers, entrees and desert. I knew roughly what the $$ was going to be going in but the service and the atmosphere exceeded what I ended up paying. If you are looking for a wonderful night out with your significant other or who ever you might take than this is the place for you. Five stars all the way
Our party truly liked and enjoyed our dinner at Pete Miller's. If you are from the Naperville area, it is definitely on par with Sullivan's and Morton's as a steakhouse. The food was excellent, the decor is beautiful and we loved the jazz ensemble that played in the bar area. Service was outstanding. If you don't want to deal with the parking challenges in downtown Naperville for fine dining, Pete Miller's is a wonderful choice. We will definitely return.
This is our 3rd visit since they recently opened. Everything we ordered has been very good, each time we go it gets better too. Craft cocktails are excellent, great Caesar Salad and my wife loves the Hanger Steak. The Parmesan Crust offered on steaks is excellent.
The steaks were absolutely perfect and the service was very good and attentive. We came for the jazz and were not disappointed. Menu is ala carte but portion size is very large...enough for two people on one salad, side, and dessert--so, as a result, not as pricey as Morton's and others. Would definitely go back for the food and the jazz!!
The food was excellent but it is so loud that I couldn’t hear the waitress. The need to put some sound deadening material on the walls/ceiling to help.
Everything is al la carte, so the bill adds up quickly. One thing that I was disappointed with was that they never came back and filled our water. That’s a big no-no!
I will be back because the food was delicious!!!
This was the second time we went to this new location and it was for my husbands 40th birthday. Arrangements were made in advance and I made the restaurant aware of the issues from the first visit- my husband’s steak came to the table medium and he ordered it rare. We were also barely on salads when then entrees came out. Assuming this was all due to the new restaurant getting used to timing, we decided to try again. Needless to say it will be our last. My husband’s steak was ordered rare and came out almost well this time. The prices are extremely high- way too high for this to happen twice. I’d rather go to Hugo’s where I know we get what we pay for.
The restaurant is close so I can walk there
The steak was pretty good. The sides were also tasty.
The server tried really hard to get everything right (but needed a little training I think - see cons)
The server took my wife’s app order and then walked away without taking mine. She almost did something similar when we ordered our entrees - I ordered my steak and she went to walk away before I ordered sides. She was just a little rough round the edges and I’m not sure if she has high end dining experience or much in the way of training.
The drink I ordered wasn’t the drink I received.
The lobster tail was a little overdone and a bit tough and bland.
The entree arrived before I had finished my app
Dinner for two with no alcohol was $175 plus tip. At this price they have to do better. Too many mistakes.
