The food was excellent but it is so loud that I couldn’t hear the waitress. The need to put some sound deadening material on the walls/ceiling to help.
Everything is al la carte, so the bill adds up quickly. One thing that I was disappointed with was that they never came back and filled our water. That’s a big no-no!
I will be back because the food was delicious!!!

This was the second time we went to this new location and it was for my husbands 40th birthday. Arrangements were made in advance and I made the restaurant aware of the issues from the first visit- my husband’s steak came to the table medium and he ordered it rare. We were also barely on salads when then entrees came out. Assuming this was all due to the new restaurant getting used to timing, we decided to try again. Needless to say it will be our last. My husband’s steak was ordered rare and came out almost well this time. The prices are extremely high- way too high for this to happen twice. I’d rather go to Hugo’s where I know we get what we pay for.

The pros:
The restaurant is close so I can walk there
The steak was pretty good. The sides were also tasty.
The server tried really hard to get everything right (but needed a little training I think - see cons)

The cons:
The server took my wife’s app order and then walked away without taking mine. She almost did something similar when we ordered our entrees - I ordered my steak and she went to walk away before I ordered sides. She was just a little rough round the edges and I’m not sure if she has high end dining experience or much in the way of training.
The drink I ordered wasn’t the drink I received.
The lobster tail was a little overdone and a bit tough and bland.
The entree arrived before I had finished my app
Dinner for two with no alcohol was $175 plus tip. At this price they have to do better. Too many mistakes.

Pete Miller's Steakhouse was a great experience. Myself and my wife ate there with our younger son between volleyball and hockey games. It was a nice break from the action. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We would highly recommend it for families or date nite.

We were disappointed in the scotch selection, there was no Chevis. Steaks were very good but the lamp chops were on the tough side. Very expensive.

Wait staff slow, same as Tommy Nevins. Only change to interior are new lights and some murals. Servers touched food as they were delivering to our table. Soup, hands on rim of bowl. Tomato on steak plate handled. I ordered the 10 oz filet and it was exactly the same size as my wife’s 7oz. Both were requested medium rare. Hers was cooked well, mine was raw. Cold Center. My friend ordered medallions with Parmesan crust and it was over cooked and dry. Probably from putting it in the broiler. When our steaks were delivered, the server didn’t ask if we needed anything else and just walked away. None of us had steak knives or forks. They also didn’t provide the sauces my wife and I ordered, then brought back the wrong sauces. Then once we were finally provided the correct sauces, we were half done with our steaks and were not comped. I would definitely recommend Sullivan’s or Morton’s over this establishment for a better experience in town. This place is a one and done for us.

We went for our Wedding Anniversary. When we were first seated they placed us in between 2 other tables that were very close together. So close that if we stayed there - there was no way we could have a private conversation. We asked to be moved - they accommodated us and we had a private booth in the back. Seating was comfortable - however the tables could be a little more narrow as we had to squeeze in. Our waiter was terrific - very informative and great personality. I wish I remembered his name - we would request him again!!

Food was outstanding not a dish we didn't like. The Long Islands and Gimlet's were made to perfection. We will go again. For us it is a special occasion restaurant as this is a higher end Restaurant - but worth every penny!!

First time and it was good, but Hugo’s would be the choice for a premium steak. Bacon appetizer was very good and this is a nice twist like NY steakhouses. Server hard to understand, no steak presentation, and she seemed confused. Expensive for the service and food.

Very rarely do I write reviews. However after going with a group of friends we discussed and said that for the price of this restaurant, people need to know that it is not going to meet their cost expectations. The waitress was not knowledgeable in regards to the drink menu and food menu, she couldn’t answer questions about either, she had to ask someone else. It was on the same financial level as a Morton’s type of restaurant, but definitely not the same quality or caliber. Though the food was good, I just got lucky with my entrée choice where as others in our group did not. Furthermore the waitress insisted that we signed the merchant copy and send of the customer copy, and then brought us nine different receipts… just strange and a disappointing experiences

First experience was a good one, a nice addition to Naperville's south side. Great place to celebrate a special occasion. Food was good and the cocktails were excellent, loved the Old Fasion!

Service was poor. Server didn’t come back unless she had to bring us something. Never checked on us or asked how our meal was. Didn’t give us any info. She showed us steaks and mixed them up. She basically just came and asked what we wanted. We even had to pull a bus server for more water. Reminded me of a server from a breakfast restaurant rather than a fine dining restaurant. Food was good but not excellent. For what the prices are, it should be excellent. There are too many fine dining restaurants in Naperville and Plainfield for them not to step up their game based on the prices. Since it’s new, I’d go back again to give it a second chance. But they need to step up their game with food and definitely service for sure!!

For a pricey restaurant, we were disappointed. To start, we had reservations and they tried to seat us in a corner booth that was so small, neither one of us could fit into it. (We are not large people.) We had to request another table. I ordered my steak well done and had to send it back which I didn't mind doing, but it took almost 20 minutes to get it back. My guest had finished his meal before I received mine back. Also, because it took so long, it would have made sense for the waitress to check on me during that time, or offer me a cup of soup or something. Instead I watched her just standing around almost the whole time. For this restaurant touting itself as a high end steak house, we were very disappointed. Since it is a new establishment, maybe it is still working out the kinks, but for the price that we paid for the meal, I expected to have a dining experience on par with the value paid. I wish we would have had a positive experience, as this restaurant is close to where we live.

Some changes to the interior since it was Tommy Nevins but massive changes to the menu. While the food at Tommy Nevins was good the food at Pete Millers is excellent. The service is also very good however the wait staff and kitchen staff still apparently need a little bit more experience under their belt. I would absolutely recommend this place for a special occasion or a nice dinner for two.

Excellent food! Right up there with Sullivan's or Hugo's Frog Bar! I was surprised as they had only been open 5 days! The ribs fell right off the bone - no need to use hands! The GM was very friendly at the door! This place is pricey but I highly recommend it for special occasion/fine dining!

Pete Miller’s has a ways to go if it wants to compete as a local steakhouse, a long ways to go if wants to become a regional destination. I️ will give them a break as I️ went there on only the fourth night it was open.

The service was excellent as our waiter was experienced, knowledgeable about the new menu, engaging without being intrusive. My wife and I were very pleased.

I ordered the special, dry aged bone-in NY strip, creamed spinach, and salad to start. I️ find that Pete Miller’s suffers from the same problem many restaurants suffer from. The dry aged steak does not taste like a dry aged steak. For the premium price I️ expect a flavor that is nutty, beefy, almost gamey but not off putting. It was not. The creamed spinach was whole leaf spinach in a sauce more like buerre blanc than béchamel. Remarkably, it was void of flavor. The salad was a salad.

If Pete Miller’s is going to survive it needs to find a hook to keep diners coming back. Maybe a special seasoning, a unique broiled flavor, a huge baked potato maybe. The maple flavored thick cut bacon is a good idea but it needs better execution. The place needs something to separate from everyone else. Good luck guys. I’ll check back in a couple months.

I was excited for Pete Miller to open in Naperville. We made a reservation for Friday evening. When we arrived the place was crowded with diners and people waiting for their table. We were told that there would be a bit of a wait so we headed for the bar.
They have placed dining tables in every possible location leaving little room to stand near the bar. They have place settings at the bar requiring me to interrupt two diners to reach our drinks from the bar tender. I was given the bill and the bar tender forgot to make my drink. The order was for a glass of wine and a bourbon on the rocks. They charged me $8.00 for the bourbon and $4.00 for 2oz of rocks!

I sent a note to the contact email. It has been three days so; I guess they are not going to reply.

Let’s get to the good stuff, the food. It is primarily a steak place so we ordered two different steaks and sides. The creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes were very good.

When we ordered, my wife requested med-well, I asked for medium. Mine came out well done and hers med to med rare. Despite being cooked incorrectly, they were delicious. We shared one and took the other home for morning steak and eggs.

Our waiter was very nice and offered to replace our steaks but it was too late at that point.

Little things – Not clearing the table of extra place settings. Picking up only part of the dishes that had been used and set next to the edge. They need a better assortment of bourbon.

Not a big deal at a fish camp but a $$$ restaurant can do better.

Bottom line: We will go back because the food was that good and hoping that they get the logistics straightened out.

So, please go. Support this restaurant and help them practice.

Spouse’s birthday with our neighbors. Friday night dinner- only 3 days of experience for the staff. As a result, service was quite slow. However, the staff was quite pleasant. Unfortunately, our son’s ribs did not come out with the other meals. Actually everyone finished their meals prior to delivery of ribs. Apparently the ribs were burnt the first time. I guess it would be good quality control or standards. Bad timing though. Note- waitress did not charge the table for the ribs. A suitable gesture. My son did love the ribs. Overall a good dinner but just slow. Our table tried the Oyster dish and Tuna for Aps (awesome), dinner choices, Filet, NY Strip, Lobster, Trout, Caeser and of course the ribs. One other hint- order your bottle of wine early. The servers do not get the wine and are at the mercy of a manager. Growing pains. We will be going back.

I frequent fine dining places and steak-seafood joints such as Smith and Wollensky, Hugo Frogs, etc. This place has only one thing in common and that’s the price point. The ribeye (bone in) was ok for $50. But I had to ask twice for a steak knife. The wife ordered ginger ale and we received soda water. We ordered the seafood tower for two and the oysters were empty, the crab was so small we laughed and the there were two average size shrimp. My wife ordered the tuna and had to send it back because it tasted WAY too bitter. The server kept saying that the kinks needed to be worked out as they were only open for 4 days. Bottom line: no quality control from the kitchen, no supervision by managers, bar staff don’t know the difference between ginger ale and soda water and no one soliciting feedback from guests. After a $230 bill, we will NOT return even if the kinks do get worked out.
