With some of the freshest seafood available anywhere in the region, it's no wonder Pescatore has been awarded numerous accolades for seafood and Italian fare, from Best of Boston, Hidden Boston, Best of Somerville, Best of Yelp, and Thrillist. Pescatore, a true neighborhood gem, cooks up meals that appeals to a variety of tastes. In addition to the wide range of pizzas that have become a hit with the takeout crowd, those who dine in will love entrees like the lobster ravioli that are fresh made daily. Within a casual-elegant dining room, Pescatore offers up a host of traditional Italian dishes like Chicken Parmigiana created with a unique flare to add a bit of variety to your evening meal. Don't forget to soak up the sun on the Zagat rated garden patio.
Pescatore also has an extensive wine list to top off that great meal. Keep in mind that this location is closed on Mondays.
Pescatore was a wonderful surprise in terms of its food. It's decor is simple, but we were able to take advantage of the outside seating. It was pleasant and quiet. (Indoors was quiet, too.) The place was not very busy on an early summer weeknight. The four of us each ordered a pasta dish, and all were outstanding and generous--good value. The two desserts we shared were delicious--the lemon cake and the tiramasu. The other items on the menu looked very good, too. Service was friendly and prompt, except for our waiter forgetting to fill our water glasses, a minor issue. I would come here again and bring guests.
We came across this neighbourhood gem for Father’s Day dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Our family members visiting from overseas could not stop talking about the freshness of the seafood dishes. The rack of lamb daily special was also succulent and tender. Thanks for helping us celebrate the occasion!
This is a true neighborhood gem with refined, thoughtfully prepared food. The reataurant has a warm, attentive staff and a great menu that features both Italian specialties and seafood platters. Mangia!
Food was good, service fair to poor on a Friday night.
The restaurant was having a bad night as two servers did not show up and it was Mother’s Day. We had made reservations but were seated late and then we were not sure we would be waited on. Contemplated going somewhere else. But then the waiter came and was more than apologetic and kind & got drinks & water and from there everything went smoothly. The food was delicious especially my veal piccata. I would recommend this restaurant for sure!
Atmosphere is low key and service was a little slow, but the food was quite good and they were able to customize to our specific needs. Would visit again.
Food was great- service was excellent-
We all had a different entree and everyone was very happy with their choice-
We will definitely be back
Good food, impeccable service, great atmosphere.
Have been here many times, casual dinners, special occasions.
Gerome, best waiter, always goes out of his was to make us feel welcome.
Brought friends who had never been here before. They went on and on how much they loved the food and enjoyed the evening.
Will be back, again and again....
Food was delicious! We loved the atmosphere of the restaurant. The prices were very reasonable. Food was hot and delicious when delivered. The only downfall was the service.
Pescatore is a true hidden gem. The front along Highland is actually the kitchen and pickup window with the dining room around the corner. We had a lovely meal in the dining room. Food was clearly homemade pasta and was delicious. The dining room was quiet while we were there, but with hard floors and pretty solid walls, I can see how it could become louder and livelier on a busy night. Definitely on our radar for future date nights!
Pescatore's is one of our go-to restaurants in the neighborhood. Even if we weren't within walking distance we'd still choose them. Neighborhood gem, friendly staff and delicious food. Been coming here for a few years and I've never been disappointed with the food. Enjoy!
Lovely spot, excellent food and service. Highly recommend.
Nice authentic italian feel. Reasonable wine selection. Arancini app excellent filled with lots od feesh melted moz. Bread was cold like just out of fridge...basil olive oil wanted the bread to at least be warm. 3 out of the 4 of us wanted a veal dish. No veal😔. Chicken melanese tasty but side pasta over cooked and it didn't come with the brocoli rabe the menu said it did. Lobster ravioli was also over cooked.
Wine overpriced. Should not charge $13 for a glass - we are not in Boston.
Pleasant low key place, out of the way in Somerville. Very welcoming staff. Prices reasonable. Food unfortunately was disappointing. Pasta was over cooked and bland. Lobster dry. Scallops were tasty. Olive oil/garlic very light in flavor. Red sauce similarly nothing special. Wanted to like this neighborhood place but was quite disappointed.
I had been to Pescatore's in October and it was Fantastic! So when there was a reason for a celebration i suggested we return. There were 4 of us , they didn't have our reservation but it didn't matter because there was a table. The service was very very slow. Even when we all tried to catch our waiters eye he didnt notice us and its not a big restaurant. We all ordered the same food that we had gotten before, the Almalfi was flat and the Linguini alle Vongole had nothing on the pasta even though it was ordered with white wine. It had take so long for the food to come no one wanted to send it back. It was just all around disappointing and has made us decide not to return
found this restaurant through open table because we wanted something in that area.
we arrived a little early and our table was not ready so we had a drink while waiting.
our server, Tracey, seated us quickly and she was WONDERFUL..as was the food!
Husband had veal picatta which he said was the best he could remember. I had the appetizer sauted clams which Tracey correctly assured me that it was enough to be my entree. DELICIOUS!
I only wish it was in my neighborhood but I will still make the effort to return
My husband says the pasta with white wine clam sauce is the best he’s ever had; other fish and pasta dishes are equally fine. The service is friendly and nice.
We wanted to try a new (for us) neighborhood type of place to celebrate a birthday and Pescatore seemed to match the requirements. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived early on a Sat evening, but was full and moderately noisy when we left. Dining room was pleasant and tables well spaced. Service was attentative and efficient. Pescatore serves Italian food with heavy emphasis on seafood. The arancini appetizer was excellent. Main dishes (pasta with seafood and sauces) were not fancy, but very good. We really appreciated the restaurant's policy of having several choices for "house wines" by the glass at one (reasonable) price. Pescatore is a comfortable, friendly "local" place with very good food and service. We will be happy to return.
Awesome food and service, may have ordered too many appetizers.
We have been to Pescatore many times. My mother-in-law always requests that we go there when she is in town. The food was delicious as always, and we tried a couple things that we haven't in the past. The arancini were the best I'd had in the Boston area, just the right amount of beef, ragu, peas and cheese enveloped by luscious arborio rice, fried golden crisp. I had the fisherman's platter- this is fried seafood at its best, better than Woodman's on the north shore. The breading is always light and crispy and hardly greasy- I don't know how they get it that way. But the best part are the fried onion strings that come with the calamari and the fisherman's platter. My husband had the lamb chops that are always cooked the medium rare that he requests, with a side of buttered homemade fusilli (the best pasta!). There was a very rich flourless chocolate cake, which was more like a rich piece of fudge, but melted wonderfully in your mouth. If you haven't tried Pescatore, give them a try during the cold months. The wait staff is always courteous and friendly, and the restaurant cozy and warm.
New Years Eve had a great special menu. Much quieter than we anticipated for New Years Eve. Server was very attentive.
Pretty good! Have been in the neighborhood for years and ordered pizza from Pescatore, but never sat down from dinner. Better than expected italian standards, drinks...notsomuch.
The only way to describe it is it's a hidden gem. The service was impeccable, the food was ginger licking good and them some. A win in all categories. Will definitely be back for more.
Very slow service. The restaurant was only half full but we waited for our meal for one hour! Everyone else around us was being served. They did not check in with us during our long wait. When we brought it to their attention, the waitress was apologetic.
Once it was brought to the table, the food was excellent- well prepared and served hot.
I'm definitely a fan of this place. My friends and I decided to come here for a Friendsgiving and was able to find a table for 6.
The decor and food didn't stand out to me, it was good but, I've definitely had better. I had a fettuccine alfredo and I also ordered a bruschetta. It was a bit bland.
What did stand out was the service. Our waiter was so attentive, had a sense of humor, and really made our restaurant experience great.
We had a great time and we would go back, all of my friends let me know that they would give it 4-5 stars!
Pescatore was a very pleasant surprise--and I grew up working, eating and hanging out in an Italian restaurant owned by my family!!!. I have driven by Pescatore many many times over the past two decades and never bothered to eat there. Why now? It was Saturday night. 6:30 PM. I had a craving for fish and looked on FourSquare for fish place recommedations very near where we live in Cambridge. Besides Legal, there was Pescatore ( and maybe 1-2 more). Made a reservation for 7:!5 and got there in 15 minutes. We started with an appetizer that included baked goat cheese and an array of grilled and pickled veggies. Excellent. I ordered grilled Branzini, the special, without lemon sauce. It was exquisite, perfectly grilled, delicious, fresh, magnificent. My hubby had baked haddock, which came in a red sauce. Well--for this Italian American who travels extensively in Italy every year....I say Bravo!
Excellent food, great seafood. Quiet place a bit out of the way. Not too busy, which I like.
Pescatore is a good neighborhood joint offering well-made Italian seafood dishes. Nothing is particularly noteworthy, either good or bad, except the noise, which very easily rises to an uncomfortable level.
The food was absolutely fantastic. It was fresh and beautifully presented. The bruschetta was delicious the scallops succulent and my son said the best eggplant Parmesan he has ever had The swordfish was great and the mashed potatoes as fresh as they could be. The tiramisu was amazing and the Canoli crisp and freshly filled. Even the special bother of wine was yummy. Make sure you are not in a rush it's all freshly made and takes a while. Our waiter had a great friendly personality. This restaurant is s winner all the way around.
Everything was great! Our server was knowledgeable and friendly. Service was prompt. Appetizers and meals were timely (not too quick). Desert options were amazing! The lamb chop special included perfectly cooked and tender lamb. The veal dishes were outstanding and presentation on the ravioli "pillows" was great. We were there treating our son for parents' weekend. We will be back again, for sure.
We loved the entire experience! Food was delicious reasonably prices and large portions. Our waiter David was very attentive without being overbearing or hovering! If you love italian food and not the stereotypical dishes this is the place for you! The takeout meu is different from the dining in menu but it is just as good!
Wait staff was great, however, they had to make up for very poor food quality. The meat in the Aroncini was frozen and had to be taken away. The crab cakes and seafood risotto were decent.
I can't say enough good things about Pescatore. This restaurant is warm and beautiful, yet unpretentious, with absolutely delicious food. Both Italian standards and their more innovative items are beautifully prepared, flavorful, and indulgent without being overly rich. I've been there with my boyfriend, with friends, and with my extended family, and we always leave happy.
Worst dining experience in a long time. Waitress was friendly and attentive, but on the flip side didn't think there was anything wrong with the length of time waiting for food. So, I'm perplexed by that. Appetizer came out fairly quickly. Then we watched for AN HOUR AND A HALF as people who had come in after us, had food served and were leaving before we even got ours. Kids' meals finally came out and we were told ours would be right out. We asked for an extra meatball for one of the kids, more on that later. It was another 15 minutes before our food came. Pasta and red sauce were tasted dry and reheated. One of my kids ended up in the bathroom sick before we even left. My husband said it was the most bland shrimp scampi ever and the portion was TINY. Chicken Milanese was the only good meal and that's a shame because we're never going back. We asked for the check with our plates still full, minus one. The extra meatball we had asked for, came with the check. There was no fixing this experience. Just wanted to leave ASAP. Made for a pretty disappointing birthday celebration for my daughter.
