Chef/Owner Vito Barbanente's award-winning culinary talents are diverse and creative. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. Pescatore means Italian Fisherman. You won’t be disappointed with their seafood selection. Items include fresh calamari, shrimp, oysters, mussels, clams . All of their fresh fish is flown in twice a week from Boston, New York, California and Chile .

Food was not hot when served from start to finish. Ordered the grilled calamari and was rubbery which tells me overcooked or was not fresh. Same with main meal scallops were surely frozen and thawed fast. Too bad as this place used to be okay. Too many good Italian Restaurants around to not be at your A game.
It was a pleasurable experience overall. The menu could use some expansion. The options felt limited.
We have visited Pescatore a few times a year for many years, and are always welcomed like family. It's a great place to take out-of-town visitors when you'd like the time and space to catch up, while still getting attentive service. It's also good for a quiet date night.

I dined at Pescatore with a group of Italian's visiting Chicago on business. While the waitstaff all spoke perfect English, most of the conversation between my guests and the staff was in Italian. This is a truly authentic Italian restaurant. All of my party were very pleased with the food and the service. I will return on my next trip to Chicago.
Excellent, very hospitable service. Food was authentic, not heavy. Grilled octopus for appetizers was so good! Linguini with seafood in white garlic and olive oil sauce was mmmmmmmmm, mmmmm! Sea bass entree was tasty too.

Amazing food, great atmosphere. Vitto the owner and chef came to ask how everything was and spent a while talking to us. Truly authentic Italian and it comes through in his food.
Nice place. Great food. Have octopus grill. Was done with balsamic nice with zucchini and red peppers. They recommend getting the zupa which my husband had, big king crab piece and lots of seafood. I ate the linguine frutti di mare in white wine garlic sauce that was excellent in my point of view better that the zupa but I live white wine garlic sauces. Tiramisu with chocolate chips was good but for sure the regular is good, the chocolate over power the tiramisu taste. Good expresso. Will come back again for sure.
We dine there when the restaurant was deserted. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The food. Was basic home cooked Italian food a bit heavy on the salt but very good. We would definitely go back given the chance.
Our first course never was served. One of our main course entrees was not what we ordered. The beef tenderloin special did not look or taste like tenderloin. The wait staff didn’t care about the mistakes or attempt to correct or acknowledge. Overall poor experience and don’t recommend.

Have been there many times always gotten there fish which was always outstanding first time I had their lasagna and it was fantastic. My wife had ravioli with lobster sauce and loved it.
Ambiance was great. Could use a little refresh. The menu was good and food fine but the bread brought out first was lacking spices.

Came here on a whim, as my wife and I wanted Italian food. Some reviews said this place has been open 40+ years. Now I have no doubts - the food was excellent, and the owner stopped to chat with us for a bit. Nice guy, and we will be back.
My wife and I were in Chicago for a quilt festival in Rosemont and didn't want to have dinner in one of the many chain restaurants around the Convention Center ... so I checked Open table for a local Italian restaurant and, based on the reviews, selected Pescatore Palace. It was a good choice.
We were early diners (around 6:30p) and the restaurant was not crowded which gave us a chance to chat with the owner/chef for a few moments before dinner.
We shared a delicious fried calamari appetizer and the split the house specialty ... Pasta Bocelli: Al dente pasta tossed with tender scallops, gulf shrimp, yellow and green zucchini, asparagus tips and sweet grape tomatoes, sauteed with Prosecco. Even split, the portions were very generous. My wife also had a cup of the minestrone and I enjoyed the accompanying fresh salad. We finished the evening with a tiramisu (excellent).
The chain restaurants do a fine job, but it's always nice to find a family restaurant.

We stopped at Pescatore on 11/4 on the way to dropping someone off at O’Hare. I would give the food and service mixed reviews.
The calamari was oily rather than crisp, a real pet peeve of mine. It’s supposed to be fried in oil, not soaked in oil. The bruschetta was OK, but basically tomatoes and prosciutto on bread. It seemed to lack for any real defined “Italian” flavor. Garlic, basil, something. Unless a real improvement is made in the salad department, I’d say avoid it as well. Wilted, yellow greens and flavorless dressing is not super exciting.
The pumpkin gnocchi and bow tie a la vodka sauce were very nice; rich, flavorful. On the way to a solid three, maybe four if the service stays solid.
Then it happened, I found a stone the size of a quarter gum ball in my seafood linguini. My guess, it was in the mussels and the chef missed it. It’s not so much the stone that bugs me, but the delayed and muted reaction to it. The waiter walks away with the stone, not saying a whole lot. No real apology. 10 minutes later, the manager (owner?) comes in and apologizes and says to comp my meal (appropriate) and give them dessert on the house (a terrific good will gesture).
We finished our meals. My daughter turned to me and proclaimed me a “baller” for calling out the stone. I was riding high. As we prepared to see the dessert menu, out walks the waiter with 5 lemon ices. What?!?
The promise was dessert...the kids wanted cannolis, cheesecake or chocolate. While the lemon ice was fine, it felt like we were promised dessert...of our choosing. What we got was what they wanted to give us. They would have been better off just comping the meal and never mentioning dessert, keeping our expectations firmly in check.
Overall, the food is a three...very mixed. The experience brought it down to a two. Don’t promise one thing and deliver another. Dessert on us means we choose. placate us with lemon ice.

Great spot to stop for a very nice good value meal of proper Italian food when the Kennedy is crazy. Arrive home at the same time after the traffic cleared and with a very enjoyable belly full of great food.
It was a pleasant surprise, it was my first time and I was impressed with the attentive service and the excellent cuisine. I was meeting a friend from out of town and I found this place as an option near the airport and I am glad that I did. I will definitely will come back with the family.
Food was fresh and of proper quality. The fish was fresh and cooked to perfection. The Chicken Milanese was delicious. The salad and bread were both underwhelming but that doesn't negate the entree. The service was attentive and the Owner made sure to stop by every table to check on patrons.
Myself and 6 others were in town for a convention and wanted to eat somewhere off-site. Pescatore had a great selection, the food was plentiful and the service was wonderful. We never felt rushed, and the staff was attentive, yet not over-bearing.

We went to Pescatore on a whim after attending a concert nearby. What a lucky choice! This place was excellent in every respect. My wife had the lasagna and I had the gnocchi both of which were delicious. The service was top notch, respectful and not over the top. The atmosphere was quiet which was perfect for us to have a great conversation. The biggest surprise was how affordable the menu items were. Especially considering how good our meal was. We’ll be back.
I had a magnificent dinner there with friends. The appetizers were delicious. The main course meals that we had were even better. Service was exceptional. And the value for the quality of food that we received was beyond compare. The only complaint I actually have is that I actually live so very far away from this restaurant and can't visit it more often. If I lived closer I would be a regular. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We chose Pescatore to celebrate our anniversary with our children. It has been a few years since we had dined here - and the years have not been kind to this place. We had reservations for 6:00 on Friday night. They were setting up for a large party the next night in the back hall and another one in the large dining room up front. All of the diners they expected for Friday night were in one small room with 4 tables. That should have been a tipoff to us that this place has declined greatly. The service was very slow and confused. We waited a long time to have our order taken and made it clear that they should bring our grand daughter's dinner as soon as it was ready and not wait for the others. My son had to go out and remind them of this and only then did they bring out the meal. I had linguini del mare which had tasteless and chewy shrimp, scallops and mussels. There was no flavour to what was supposed to be a garlic cream sauce. My wife ordered a sea bass. It may have been the "fish of the day" but I assure you that the day we ate there was not its day. Clearly it had been frozen for a while and had no taste or texture. The same was true of everyone else's dinner. After the table was cleared, we waited and waited. Remember, there were just 4 tables being used and all were in one small room. Still, my son had to once again go out and tell the waiter that we wanted to order dessert and coffee. He then came to our table and asked if we wanted to see the dessert menu. We again told him we did, so he left to get them. Really? The desserts were bland. They did bring a cake and candle for my wife and I and sang happy anniversary to us. Nice - except 5 minutes later, the same waiter wished me a "happy birthday". Really? This place is desperately in need of new management and a new chef. Perhaps they should change to being just a banquet hall. Clearly, they do not do dinner very well.
A neighborhood gem! From the service to the food it was amazing! The staff is attentive and friendly. I also can’t say enough about the meal we ordered fish and it was fresh and cooked perfectly. Will most definitely return!
