All settings conspire to create the ideal atmosphere for unforgettable dining.

Delicious food but not budget friendly. I would recommend for any type of special occasion. Great wine selection. Our bottle matched perfectly all our entrees. Prompt service also.
Very expensive. Food quality was not good. No variety at all. Will never return again and I will definitely NOT recommend this restaurant for Sunday brunch.
Thank you Eduardo for the great service. A truly enjoyable evening and great recommendations.
My family and I have enjoyed Perspectives over years past when it was reliably good, however this birthday dinner for five was a major let-down. Granted it was a holiday Monday, but still, there should have been more positives.
Pros: Lovely, hot, fresh dinner rolls; good chowder, good Scallop app, good Ribeye, perfect Crème brûlée, pleasant birthday greeting plate, nice service from Roch.
Cons: Poor Gazpacho, no Sushi available, poor Cauliflower main, poor Nicoise salad steak (instead of medium rare, steak was completely raw inside had to be returned to try again), very tough Elk main, LONG interlude between apps and mains - about an hour, in spite of the fact we were only one family out of perhaps 5 families present in a ~30-table restaurant. Did get a small wine top-up as apology for wait.
When we arrived, we mentioned to the hostess that this was our first time at the Sunday Brunch buffet. She took lots of time to explain everything to us - she didn't rush through it at all. That was appreciated and set the relaxing tone for the meal. The server was great, attentive and helpful. The food was just excellent and catered to a wide variety of tastes.
The food was Absolutely amazing! Allen was our sever and he was very friendly and kept us in the loop about when the next course was coming and was ready to answer all of our questions about the food choices!
Great service. Asked to eat outside as we had a child who was able to run off and play while we dined!
Unfortunately we did not have a good experience at Brookstreet. The waitress seemed to forget about our table, disappearing for a long time and we had to ask the hostess to get her so we could place our order. One of our party’s soups never arrived and we had to ask for it, and never really for an explanation. The soup was quite salty. Salads were fine. When the waitress came to ask if we wanted coffee, I said no and she walked away without asking the other two women at the table who did want something. Overall not what we expected from brookstreet at all. That being said, the evening on the patio was lovely, but the overall food and service was not up to par that night at all.
Dinner and service were great.
The amount of mosquitos that came into the restaurant through the patio was annoying.
Need to get rid of the cobwebs. around the top of the patio. When i reserved I said my wife was gluten free and also that it was our anniversary. I do not think anybody read my comments . Were not sure if they do something for our anniversary. We are not complaining just curious. We very much loved the restaurant and all it offers. Thank you.
Had a fabulous brunch here for Father's Day. Loved the fresh sushi! This is our favourite brunch spot in Ottawa.
just a quick reply as we know you must receive many. "WOW" my husband hasn't stop talking about our weekend getaway.hahahah Women know these things don't we! It was PERFECT!! Food was the 'TASTE TEST EXPERIENCE " OF A LIFE TIME TRULY!!!!! until we meet again-- keep up the GREAT WORK!! sincerely cindy mcewen
I love the comfortable ambiance and friendly service of Perspectives reataurant. I had the sirloin and my husband had the salmon. We both enjoyed our dishes tremendously. The chocolate mousse we had for desert was out of this world.
The Table Hote menu has a good variety of dishes to choose from and at very affordable prices.
I appreciate that the restaurant is a great place for a romantic dinner but it would be just as fitting for a group dinner.
The service is well-timed, helpful and friendly.
Definitely a restaurant we will be visiting again.
This was our first visit to Perspectives. It was a birthday dinner for my wife and I. In our opinion, it does not qualify as any place special (such as Le Bacarrat). It is anything but romantic (too big; too spaced out; too much lighting). The food was ok but nothing special. Basically no vegetables..just a small portion of fish; mashed potatoes, bok choi (I think) and onion or whatever fancy name was attached to the menu. Our $80 bottle of wine was good, maybe a bit overpriced; dessert was served with a spoon only; server was pleasant but lacking that maturity that comes with 4-5 star restaurants. The dress code suggested business casual yet the table next to us had a diner wearing his jeans and t-shirt. Does not enhance the setting
I recently treated some members of my family to a brunch at "Perspectives". Having thoroughly enjoyed our wedding reception at the Brookstreet Hotel a few years earlier, we make it a point to return for special occasions/getaways. The food and decor was spectacular, as always; however, the online reservation system ("OpenTable") was very frustrating. I tried to reserve a total of 6 people online; however, the system indicated that the restaurant was at capacity and I had to reduce the party to 4. As it turned out, there was plenty of room to add 2 more people to our table, as the restaurant was more than half empty. I had to exclude 2 family members and the restaurant lost business. Surely this needs to improve! Thanks/Bon appétit!
Perspectives' menu is fresh and creative, the food is cooked to perfection, the wine list is rich and varied, the service is beyond impeccable, and the view is stunning (over Marshes Golf Course). This was our first blind tasting since Michael Blackie left, and Clifford Lyness and his team have risen to the challenge brilliantly. Perspectives deserves every one of those 4 diamonds in its CAA rating.
best scallops I've ever had, salmon was oustanding, steak tartar was delicious as was the tenderloin.
While the overall experience was reasonably good, the service very good; the food should ghave been delivered to the table piping hot where appliccable. Unfortunately it was just warm. I would have expected when dining in a upscale, $$$ dining establishment that is somewhat out of the way, that the chef would go the extra mile to insure propers serving temperature of the dishes. This was a special occasion with choices available to us. For the price charged, not sure I would return.
I was quite disappointed with my experience of Easter brunch, as a matter of fact. Not only was I expecting high-quality food because of the price that I paid, but I was also hoping that the service and the decor would be up to the four diamond rating that attracted me in the first place. The restaurant did not match any of my expectations. On top of that, the restaurant is quite far away from Ottawa's city center and in my opinion, it is not worth the long drive, unless you want to eat cold food in a hotel lobby and have to beg the waiter for some more coffee.
First, the service was outstanding in all respects. The food was also excellent, and well above what you would expect for the price. We didn't take full advantage of the extensive wine list, but if you're looking for an excellent high-end restaurant for a special occasion (as we were) Perspectives is well worth the short drive to Kanata.
I have gone to your restaurant twice this week. Loved both times! Great service and a terrific place for a business meeting.
Great experience. This is the second time that I have done the blind tasting menu. My expectations were high and they were met.
Prompt service. Each course was served by two waiters such that we nevr waited while the rest of the group received their meals. Each course was served hot.
We really enjoyed our experience. My wife treated me for my birthday and it was a nice surprise.
The only thing is that after we asked for the bill, it took a long time to come.
My compliments to the chef.
A very special experience, with outstanding food and service.
Two and half hours of real dining pleasure.
Food was mass produced and overcooked, very disappointing. Not recommended.
This was not our first time at Perspectives.
The brunch has been better, and based on this visit I suggest it's time for an overhaul.
The buffet items did not seem to be very fresh on this day and the overall experience was not worth the money.
We brought our friends out (their first time) after we raved about it and they left very unimpressed. As did we. It will be a while before we head back.
Perfect spot for lunch meeting. My guest and I did not feel rushed. The staff was very friendly. And both our dishes thai noodles and the CLUB sandwich were great.
Went for lunch on a Monday. The restaurant was very, very quiet with only a couple of tables occupied. The service was fine, neither bad nor exceptional. Had a salmon sashimi salad, which was very tasty but disappointingly small and unsatisfying.
Food was great! Service very friendly. Only thing was it was too brightly lit and wasnt cozy - set up had a lot of open space. It was good for privacy but dimming the lights a bit might have made it more inviting.
Perspectives is my favorite restaurant! My husband and I try to go a few times a year and we always order the blind tasters menu. I have never been disappointed! In fact, I think it gets better every time! They have a great wine selection and the service is top notch! I can't wait until our next visit! Thanks so much to all the staff and of course the 5 star chef for making this an amazing visit everytime!
Food was excellent over all. However, the steak was somewhat tasteless and needed more sauce to complement it. The wine list is good, however the Hermitage by Pic et Chapoutine that we selected at $150 a bottle was a big disappointment: it was overly tannic and had too much alcohol with little in the way of fruit or other positives, although the bouquet was outstandings. The wine was properly decanted and aerated but the wine was still a big disappointment.
Our first visit (and likely last) to Perspectives was disappointing. The service was mediocre (we had to resort to borrowing milk from an empty table next to us), we really never saw a server and were never asked how our meal was. The selection was limited, with a few of the food selections on their last legs, and no one around paying any particular attention to the offerings. The quality of the food was certainly not what you would expect from a higher end restaurant either. Far too pricey for the food or the dining experience.
We both requested a green salad to start. Since it wasn't on the menu we weren't sure what we would get. Our dishes of fresh 'greens' were attractively presented, lightly and appropriately flavoured and were a wonderful start to the evening.
Then, our server suggested just the right wines for our chosen entrees. In both cases the flavours were not overwhelming but blended beautifully. The presentation was again artistic. Just the right combination of flavours to enhance but not overwhelm each other.
Throughout the evening our server was attentive but not intrusive. He offered just the right amount of assistance when requested. When engaged, he was very personable without being imposing.
Went there for dinner for 2. Food was good but not worth the price. Our main course took 1.5 hours to arrive but we received a free course while we waited which was a nice gesture. Service was very good. Also went for brunch which I would not recommend. They have a few regular breakfast items, the rest was Chinese/Indian/Japanese food.
Have been before and last time it was excellent. This time it was a disappointment. My partner's food was excellent, the clicky sushi and the lobster...simply amazing.
My table d'hote was fair. My 15$ soup was absolutley dreadful, the mushroom bisque. The steak tartar was merely good. The braised deer loin was simply braised to death, awful. The desert was good. Our waitress made the evening not a complete disaster and should be commended in saving the evening. Twice she complimented the wine for me, the glasses that come with each plate, which was very decent of her. Bottom line is the executive chef simply should not have let the bisque and deer out of the kitchen without ensuring its quality at this 4 diamond restaurant.
I took my Wife to Perspectives for our 2nd anniversary. The food was very good as well as the service, but the ambiance could have been better. We were close to the entry and had to listen to the people from the hotel service desk as well as a disgruntled couple arguing who were two seats behind us. Overall, the experience was very good.
Limited breakfast menu but food was well prepared. Service was excellent.
Generally the experience was good. The service was very prompt and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely. Our only complaint was the food. We were there for Sunday brunch and though the deserts and salads were very good, the hot food wasn't terrific. The eggs were wet and the selection was limited. We expected an eggs benedict section and there wasn't one. We weren't offered eggs other than the scrammbled (which we couldn't eat) until the end of our meal.
This place is pricey. 2 adults on expense account. no bottle of wine ~ $250. Food is nouvelle (sp?) quisine. Very Chi-Chi, but quite good.
Very good but a bit pricey.
