Great local restaurant with carefully crafted food. On this visit some issues however. Servers were great and very friendly but it did take 45 - 50 minutes after arrival to get our first course which was dip and a basic small salad. Far too long. I was also put off by the booking process in Open Table. I understand 'no shows' can be a financial issue to a restaurant but imposing a $25 per person fine for cancellations under 1 day in advance and mandating you provide credit card details is heavy handed and will likely stop me booking again. This feels more like an Airbnb booking policy than something to be associated with dining with friends.

We did the chefs tasting & I would highly recommend! We told our server the few things we wouldn’t like & the chef picked from the rest of the menu. It was fantastic! And we left absolutely stuffed!

Lovely meal! We did the prix fixe, which was a deal - each course delicious. Dining room is small in a good way - feels intimate - but all hard surfaces means it’s LOUD. All in all a great experience.

We've always enjoyed our meals at Person and recommend everyone try it! We love the soft baked egg - please try it if you go. We've tried the Chef's Table experience - the chef selects your meal for you - and we loved it!

The drinks are always great, creative and well made. The small plates are great for sharing with a group and the sausage pizza was excellent. Outside of the noise, the bar is a great place to sit and people watch while dining.

As we arrived on time for our reservation , our table for four was waiting for us, thankfully not in the main dining area but in the inner area near the kitchen. Our server Ashley soon brought us all water and asked if we were interested in drinks. We ordered a bottle of the Argiano rosso 2020 from the too-short wine list. We also ordered the cheesy corn dip to share, and loved it and the small but impressive boule of bread. For entrees the ladies ordered the baked pasta, one vegetarian and one with beef ragu. Dan ordered striped bass and I ordered the braised lamb. Before my order arrived I asked what cut of lamb was being prepared, and was told it was lamb shank. I thought “perfect” because braised lamb shank is one of my favorites, and I order it whenever it is available. Everyone loved their entrees, except me. I was very disappointed because, unlike the 10+ other times when I ordered lamb shank, I was not presented a whole lamb shank on the bone that was falling off the bone tender. But rather the small iron skillet placed in front of me was a stew with a very flavorful sauce surrounding little pearls of pasta, and cubed chunks of meat that were not tender at all. If the cut was indeed the shank (I have never seen anyone cut lamb off the shank before cooking it or before presenting it), it needed to be braised low and slow. The small boule of ciabatta that accompanied the lamb was very tasty when dipped into the sauce. I think we all wouldn’t mind returning, and I would recommend Perso to my friends, but I would qualify my recommendation by steering them away from the lamb.

Small, quaint, beautiful restaurant with a lovely setting. Made reservations, when we arrived no table was available. One of the servers sat us at the bar with a water a drink menu, but no one ever offered us a drink. A bit later we sat at our table. Fine but super packed and loud…that’s understandable for the space. Dinner was very tasty but took a long time. Martini was okay but the espresso martini was delicious. Overall a fine meal. I do find it bold to take a credit card and charge a fee per person if you don’t show up, but then we overbook and have to wait for a table upon reservations. Would try again. Nice spot.

Love this restaurant! Every time I go with a large or small group we end up having a delicious meal. The menu is very shareable if you want to try several dishes. I like the family style meals and prices fixe on certain days as well so you can have several courses. The food is seasonal and always made with care and thought. The pairing of flavors is truly magical and sometimes unexpected.

Went on a lovely Saturday night and ate on the patio ( inside was quite noisy). We went with the Chef’s table 3-course for $49 each and it was fantastic. So much food! Menu changes of chef’s whim, but we received 3 different full size appetizers for our 1st course and Cornish hen ( to share) plus a wonderful vegetarian pasta as our 2nd course, and seasonal dessert. Everything was excellent and the service was very attentive. Outstanding overall- highly recommend.

We dined at Perso with a party of 6. We all ordered delicious cocktails to start. So so good. Round 1 of dinner included tuna Tar Tar, cheesy corn, clam pizza, green salad, pate, tomatoes, octopus, broccoli & I know I’m forgetting something, but ALL of the dishes were OUTSTANDING!!! It was a very fun way to try multiple dishes. We switched to the Chardonnay then ordered a few Sea bass entrees and the Red Shrimp . Again, completely delicious and beautiful presentation. Coffee and all of the desserts available to end the night. The service was PERFECT. We had a blast. Don’t hesitate to dine at Perso!

Had a reservation for 5:00pm - attempted to enter the restaurant at 4:59pm (as I didn't want to be considered late) and the doors were locked. They didn't unlock the restaurant until 5:03pm. Not sure why they offer a 5:00pm reservation time if they don't allow patrons to show up for them, not even a minute early?! But besides that, even with having the reservation, my guest and I were seated in a very awkward spot for two that blocks the hallway to the bathrooms... so it left little room to spread out comfortably. The service itself was good for the most part. Music wasn't too loud, but the high ceilings did create an echo-like effect of the other boisterous diners. As far as the food went: the only thing worth writing home about was the cheesy corn dip. One of the main dishes we tried was the Cornish Hen Al Mattone... and for some reason it came with about (no exaggeration) 5-6 different sauces around the plate. Which, if you read the dish description, was supposed to have 2, tops. So... none of the "extras" worked cohesively in my opinion. And the other entree was a baked pasta that was over-baked, so it was dry. The ricotta appetizer was just okay. They know how to bake a good bread though, I'll give them that. Wanted to try something new in the area, and I did. Just wasn't overly impressed.

This was our second dinner at Perso in the past month and it was better than the first visit, which was superb! Five Stars for sure! I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who appreciates high quality ingredients prepared by a chef with an excellent ability to balance flavors and textures.

Had an excellent time at Perso! The food was delicious, portions were generous, prices were very reasonable, and the service was fantastic! It was so good I booked another reservation this Thursday to celebrate a friend’s birthday & try more things from the menu! So glad to have such a fine establishment in Louisville.

Nice indoor dining & outdoor patio with umbrellas in Germantown. Lots of homemade cheeses & breads. Most of the pizzas are great, but they don’t let you add toppings. Nice wait staff. Full bar with lovely cocktails. Clean restrooms. Reservations available on Open Table make it nice and easy to plan.

This restaurant has a relaxed feeling to it. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The bass with the broccoli was fantastic. I sat at the bar and conversed with the bartender awhile. Very friendly and capable staff. I cannot wait to return.

Only complaint was the hot kitchen! Was 95 degrees outside an know that limits the AC but wow. We all soaked our clothes. But loved the coolness of sitting right inside the kitchen area.

Simply outstanding experience! This was our first time at Perso and it was amazing. The food choices are innovative and fresh…chef went outside to pick fresh rosemary!! Service was spot on and everyone was very friendly. Drink and wine selection also amazing! We’ll be back often!

We normally enjoy Perso but July 3rd was not a good night to visit. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, but they were way understaffed for such a big crowd. We were there for 3 hours, with long wait times between courses. For some unknown reason they were not serving their fabulous pizza. We would have been happy with just pizza and left the more complicated dishes for another night. Every seat was filled, and the noise level was so high, it was hard to hear the person next to me speak. We brought some first-time guests who went away wondering why we had been so enthusiastic. We will return eventually, but it will be long time before we return again.
