   What I can say is the food here is by no means authentic Persian. Poor service and ghastly quality. They need to step up the game .

   We were happy right away because of the quiet ambiance of the restaurant. My friend considers herself an expert on lentil soup, her favorite. She stated unequivocally that this was the best lentil soup she has had in Portland. I had the tasty Mediterranean salad and the salmon. As a frequent salmon eater, I must say that the salmon, also, was very well prepared and delicious along with the accompanying tasty pomegranate sauce on the side . We both are red wind drinkers, so we ordered a bottle of their Chilean Cabernet Sauvignion to go with our meal and found it delightful. It was the only bottle of red wine they offer, so we were happy that it was so tasty. Since they are a small restaurant, they do not offer cocktails, but the wine was more than enough for us. Our waiter was a very friendly and accommodating person who taught us words in Farsi when we asked. The bill, for everything, was about what I often have to spend on just myself at many of the restaurants I have tried in Portland. All in all, a wonderful evening.

   Great food and friendly service. I took my wife here for our anniversary and we had a wonderful time.

   We made a reservation here for lunch and when we showed up it was closed. According to OpenTable and the sign in the door it should have been opened but it was not. We ended up having to go somewhere down the street.

   I loved this restaurant (along with 5 of my friends)! The food is absolutely amazing. Love their Persian dishes and wine. Really great spices and flavors throughout. We have such a lovely intimate experience. Highly recommended! Have you had Persian food? Why not try?

   It is unfortunate that they are not able to give separate checks to individuals. When a group wants to eat together, they are used to being able to get separate checks.

   Had reservations for 5:30. Restaurant wasn't open. Called but no answer. Ended up going next door for dinner.

   We were in Portland for our 55th wedding anniversary and accidentally found the Persian House which walking by earlier in the day. In the window we noticed a cozy little place with white table cloths and a unique arrangement of napkins rolled up and placed in water glasses that at first appeared to be candles. The service was especially personal, with maybe the owner spending time answering our questions about menu but also the history of the place and neighborhood. It was extremely quiet, unusual for most restaurants today, which provide the perfect atmosphere to talk to one another, with cell phones muted and pocketed. The prices were reasonable and food wonderful. We will be back for our 56th!

    This is a long-time favorite - and my friends who attend Portland Baroque concerts (at First Baptist Church just a short walk away!) have embraced it with me when we have a pre-concert meal there. Highly Recommended!!
