Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Uptown Dallas Ratings and Reviews
First of all I’d like to thank the managers on duty Saturday night. They offered us the choice of free drinks or an appetizer as good will for waiting over 20 minutes past our reservation time. They were apologetic but It was clear when we entered the restaurant that there was a capacity issue. The waiting area was over flowing with dinners waiting to be seated. After waiting 15 minutes, I asked the couple standing next to us what time their reservation was booked for that evening and was informed 45 minutes earlier. I was not willing to wait that long and preceded to request our car from the valet. Luckily our table became available just as our car arrived. We chose to stay and enjoy our meal but the long wait and crowed restaurant did put a damper on the evening.
At some point, management became aware that people with reservations were not being seated timely. There should be a process in place to notify dinners when reservations are running more than 15 minutes late, an email or text possibly. There is a process to cancel reservations when dinners don’t timely check into the hostess desk. There should be a time limit to how long restaurants are given to seat dinners after a reservation time has passed. Dinners should have the option of leaving the restaurant without being penalized by OpenTable.
One person's steak had to be sent back twice for proper cook level. The surf and turf was a nice steak, but only about an ounce of seafood. Very slow on drink orders and some confusion among the wait staff. Otherwise, the rest of the food was very good and the ambiance very nice.
Perry’s Steakhouse is one of the best restaurants in the DFW area. They have great food and amazing service. This was my second time dining at Perry’s and each time I just had to have the 32oz Pork Chop. Hands down this is the best pork chop I have ever eaten. It’s super tender and so full of favor. The food is a bit on the expensive side but somethings are worth the price. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves fine dining and enjoys a full plate of food.
This was my first time to Perry's for a Business dinner during industry convention. We saw a lot of people we knew here. Perry's has what appears to be several venues for small to medium sized groups. Filet was one of best I have had in some time, and I had pan seared Brussels which were awesome - I'll be trying to duplicate these at home for some time. I drank the house red and the house white and both were really good wines . Omar was our server, and while new to Perry's, I would say he is a very good addition to their team.
WOW! I could end the review there, seeing as how that one word adequately summarizes every aspect of this establishment, but I'll divulge a bit more for the sake of doing it the necessary justice this eatery deserves.
My wife and I chose to spend our anniversary dinner here, in lieu of Wolfgang Puck's Five-Sixty restaurant in Reunion Tower and Sēr located on the top floor of our hotel in the Hilton-Anatole. Ultimately, the stellar reviews are what brought us to Perry's, and boy, were those reviews substantiated!
We had the pleasure of Alexander's company during our evening, who was our waiter. He was by far the single most personable and professional individual I've ever encountered at any business. He was genuinely kind, knowledgeable on everything we asked about, and was a pleasure to speak to on a multitude of topics. He recommended a perfectly paired bottle of wine that complemented our meal with palatable precision. I can't say enough about how outstanding this gentleman's demeanor was. Thank you, Alexander!
Moving on to the cuisine. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being the best food I've ever eaten, I rate this food a 16. Yes, six whole levels above food nirvana. Everything was absolutely in-friggin'-credible!
Seriously, words don't do this place justice. I could write a full-length novel about this experience, and it still wouldn't suffice. I WILL be returning in the very near future. Best restaurant I've ever been to in my entire life. Thank you for treating my wife and I to a splendid evening and anniversary, Perry's!
I was told by a friend to try this place. The food was great, the service had a hint of I don’t belong here, you must be here for the special vibe. But I really wanted to try to food. Overall experience was good, I would recommend it to a friend. The bacon wrapped scallops were to die for.
Friday pork chop special always serves as a good option to eat at Perry’s. The taste, atmosphere, and value can’t be beat. My friend and I both enjoyed it. Service was good but we felt we were bussed off the table a little as the waiter kept coming back. We didn’t have this feeling before, and we have eaten here many times. That is the reason Service was taken off one star.
Service was excellent and the food was absolutely delicious. Not a place you eat at frequently because it is expensive, but the quality of the food and service is worth every penny for special occasions. It was my parents first time at a higher end restaurant and they are not use to managers and waiters stopping by the table more frequently. The service staff and managers were all on point and they made the experience even better. We had the crab cakes as an appetizer, which was the best I ever ate, but they were very small for the price. For the main course we had 2 of their famous pork chops to split among 4 people (still had leftovers for another meal) and their fried asparagus with lump crab meat which was incredible. We finished the night with their Banana Foster Flambe for dessert which was prepared tableside. It was so delicious I almost licked the bowl and likely would have if I was at home. If it is your first time I highly recommend getting their famous pork chop and sharing with at least one other person because of the size. I believe it is 32oz. Overall it is always a great experience going there, but because of the price, we only go for special occasions.
Have eaten there several times and must say this time they were off. I rarely post negative on dining and not sure if it was due to a Sunday evening but it was definitely not a prime steakhouse experience. Steaks were great but side of asparagus was cold and not freshly fried. Had a nice bottle of wine and had to pour the entire bottle all night. Never experienced that at a top steakhouse anywhere. Again, may have just been an off night but certainly not up to top tier steakhouse standards.
We arrived at the restaurant to check in a 7:30pm. Our rez was at 8:15 so we went to the bar to have a few drinks. Around 8:30 I went to check back in to see the status of our table. The hostess acted like she didn't know who we were and so I told her when she figures it out we will be in the bar. About 15 minutes later she came back and said our table was ready. No big deal, we had a great dinner but i think they initially gave our table to someone else.
