Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - The Woodlands Ratings and Reviews
One of the best meals we’ve had there! We love this particular Perry’s because of the employees and ambiance but the new items on the menu are worth a try! I had the Pan Seared Sea Bass and was VERY happy with the way it’s prepared! Will definitely order it again!
We usually go to the Champions location but they were booked so went to this one. Sat at the table for almost 6 minutes before waited on. There was even a manager at the table next to us and he never looked our way. That should have been our first clue how this would turn out. Server was not the best. Saw a knife with butter & a piece of bread on the ground that servers AND a manager continuously passed. Finally someone picked it up. Tried to post the picture we took because we were shocked no one picked it up but too big of file apparently. This would have never happened at the Champions location. The Manager there keeps the restaurant and service top notch. We would sit and wait for the server. We tried to figure out where she was hiding. We were so disappointed in this visit and will never go back to the Woodlands location, only Champions location for us.
We go to Perry’s frequently and usually have great service. And the food is always great. This time is was sub par at best. We had a 6:15 reservation and showed up at 6:00. It was crowded at the hostess stand and we waited for 30 minutes before being seated. We were the LAST group to be seated and people who arrived well after us were seated before us. Then once seated it took 10-15 minutes before someone came by the table. The waiter asked “have you been helped “ and we said no.
At this point he brought water and took out drink order. Everything was much slower than normal, but it was a busy night. I ordered the filet medium rare and it was over cooked. Still edible until the last three bites which had no red or even pink in them. What’s really sad is that no one checked on the food or the temperature of our steaks until 10 minutes after everything was finished, except for those three bites. When the waiter finally came over to clear the plates, he asked “how was everything?” I replied good except the steak wasn’t medium rare. His response was “I wished I would have asked earlier”. The quality of the food and service is usually very good, unfortunately this time it was poor with no real effort or apology from the waiter to make up for the mistakes and poor service.
I’m sure we will dine there again out of convenience, but not for a while.
I have always loved Perry's. Especially the location in the Woodlands. I did not rate them 5star this time because I was disappointed in both the food and the service. Not that either was bad it just wasn't up to Perry's standards. There was nothing WOW about the steak and I've never felt that way before. It just didn't have much flavor. And our waiter seemed bored out of his mind. There weren't very many customers in there. Slow night I guess but you'd think that would have made things better.
We chose Perry's for an early Valentine's Dinner. We got a sitter for our children and wanted to enjoy a nice upscale evening without kids. Only when we got there we were seated between two tables with very young children. All of which were playing on phones or ipads. I was so disappointed. As a mom if I took the time to get someone to watch my kids I don't want to have to tolerate yours. Our bill for two people was $230.00. I was expecting it to be more romantic and less kid friendly. We enjoyed the food and the service but next time I'll search for a place people wouldn't dare take their kids. Ruined the experience of it for me.
Perry's remains one of our favorite venues for all the cuisine presented. Of course the infamous park chop is more than enough for two. And don't forget the fried asparagus with lump crab meat as well. The salads are more than generous and like the pork hop and other large dishes can easily feed two. We split the bone-in strip steak medium rare and split a Caesar salad and also had a half order of the asparagus! Whew..... wine and drink menu quite nice as well.
The service was great as always along with the wine selection but this is the second time both my father and I have ordered the pork chop and asked that we get an extra juicy chop. Not sure what’s going on but the last two times both of our chops were extremely dry and we basically just got our meals to go and asked for the bill. Hopefully Perry’s chef can keep a closer eye on this dish.
Reservation was at 7:30 and they closed at 9. Waitress seemed like she didn't want to be there and was largely uninterested and not enthusiastic at all. Basically ignored us and our drinks were only refilled once close to when we were about to leave. We listed that we were celebrating my son in laws birthday on the reservation and mentioned it to her as well, but she did nothing about it. Perhaps best not to go within an hour or so of closing? We were actually celebrating two occasions , my son in laws bd and my daughters pregnancy. Both mentioned, but our waitress... Well didn't seem to care. Food was great ( except Brussels sprouts burnt), and no real "healthy" options suggested, even though we mentioned that we were on a restricted eating plan. I would have thought it would have been better for such a nice place
Huge fan of Perry's. We usually dine at the Champions location. There were no reservations available for our time. So thought to give Woodlands a try. Made our reservations for 7:45 p.m. and was told we would be seated between 7:50 and 8:00p.m. It looked like they over booked their reservations as we waited until 8:35p.m to be seated. 2 couples arrived at 8:10 and were seated right away while the foyer area was still full with guest waiting to be seated. Our waitress failed to ask if we were celebrating any special. She failed to tell us the special. We had to ask her. We ordered our meals. My husband asked for a cesar salad with anchovies on the side. She asked if we wanted it split. WE said NO. She them comes back with a split salad and with no anchovies on the side like requested. Food was great as always. Our bill was messed up because she failed to put dessert on it. WE made the best of it but both agree not to go back to this location. No update or apologies for long wait time. Point of the story is if you reservation between 7:30 - 8:30 pack your patience. I will stay going to the location I'm use to and get better service at.
Although we had a 7:30 reservation, we were not seated until 8 pm. We were ably taken care of in the bar with cocktails and appetizers so that was okay. But our table service started with an aggressive pitch for more appetizers and more cocktails, despite arriving with drinks in hand. Service was extraordinarily slow all night. We exited the restaurant almost 3 hours after our original dinner reservation. Food was very slow coming out and our waiter seemed to disappear for long stretches between so that it was difficult to progress. The food was quite good but not extraordinary. On the whole, the experience was not worth the very hefty price.
Went for a girl’s lunch birthday party. It was fun and food was delicious but noise level a little high. The seating also felt a little cramped. Have found that sometimes this restaurant is not good for romantic dinners, anniversaries, etc. because of the noise level. We always ask to be seated away from the bar area which helps. Service was excellent. They had red rose petals spread on table for a birthday celebration which is what they use for romantic events, so I thought we were at the wrong table. When I pointed that out, they said it’s what they use for a girl’s birthday. Seems like they could at least use another color rose petal for birthdays. Would be a little more festive and and differentiate to keep them special. Overall, an excellent restaurant.
I just love Perry's. You know, even though it's huge and has several dining areas, it still feels "cozy," and they always manage to deliver on the elegant environment - from the decor selections to the lighting.
Our server was EXCELLENT. He had served us before... just the right amount of understated attention and a really polished yet friendly and unpretentious presentation.
Dinner, as always, was just stellar. I don't think I've EVER had a single complaint about the food here. I was so happy to see the addition of the Beef Carpaccio! It was fantastic! I also loved being able to add the bone marrow to my ribeye... divine.
So, this was the first time in YEARS dining here that I ventured away from their legendary pork chop, because I just figured I should try something different. And my steak was amazing! But I did miss having the delicious pork chop leftovers the next day. Next time!
I phoned a few days ahead and spoke with Chef Chris to let him know I was vegan he made a special vegan appetizer for the whole table to enjoy. There were 4 of us but I am the only vegan. He prepared a special vegan pasta dish that was amazing. Our server, Hyatt was perfect.
