Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Sugar Land Ratings and Reviews
Had a reservation but it still took about 20 minutes to get sat. Then they put us at a 4 top table, clearly in the wrong section because the server it was in between two large birthday parties (setting us up for neglect) Then we order... we get our wine then nothing.. the server is clearly overwhelmed and avoiding us.. then literally 40 minutes later we manage to flag down a manager. She comps our wine and the appetizer.. but it still was a bummer. We had planned a nice night and it clearly was less important to them than the birthday parties. This also isn’t the first time something like this has happened to me at Perry’s either. Even with a big group! They always seem to way overbook or the hostesses don’t really know how to manage the flow of a busy restaurant. Either way.. they should take some reservations offline because they clearly cannot handle a full restaurant. Our reservation was at 730. We were not sat until 8ish and didn’t have food (not even appetizers) until 9.. Extremely disappointing
First time to visit perrys. Worst experience ever. Went to bar for drinks before we were called to our table. Waiter took order for drinks and took 30 min to bring them. After waiting one hour for our food. It comes AMX is ice cold. Manager came by to see how food was. I told her. She boxed up our food and said that it was unacceptable and that perrys would pick up tab. Sorry to say. It wasn't about getting free food I really wanted to eat. Microwave didn't make it worth my time Saturday
I think I will try the perrys on I 10. See how that is
My wife and I frequent Perry’s. Excellent location for a date. Service was excellent and the ambiance is always good. I was a little disappointed in the change that had been made to the filet Perry. I don’t know when they changed from a lump of crab meat on top of the steak to a crab flavored sauce. Overall it was still better than most out there for a date, but I have come to expect better from Perry’s.
My first time at this restaurant and I was not disappointed. I fasted all day in preparing myself for your famous pork chop. I ate the whole thing in one sitting. From the time we had our car valet park to walking out the door when we finished, your service provided from everyone was superb.
Well I have to tell you it was a hit with my date. I think I made it her best Valentine's Day ever. Lobster Bisque was fantastic, wedge salad perfect, steaks prepared to out liking & oh so good. Not to be outdone by the fantastic deserts....we'll be back for more.
Thank you & hopefully the Perry's chain& it's fine employees has a fantastic 2018.
Honestly, our waiter was sick. So that soured the mood immediately. It was Valentine’s Day, so I wasn’t expecting the best service. Our steaks were rare, not medium. The rest of the food was ok. We had to ask for bread. They jammed too many tables into one of the side rooms so it was pretty tight and conversations carried. I wouldn’t go back for a special occasion again.
It was our Anniversary, had reservations for 7.30 didn't get seated tell bout 8.15,Had a glass of wine it was wrong one at first.Ordered food took bout 40 minutes,Wife had to send her salmon back.Anniversary is supposed to special not wandering whats taking so long.97.00 Didnt enjoy...Maybe it was a long day for your staff..
Steak was perfectly cooked and seared, but almost cold... it seemed like it had been left out for a while before they served it to us. The Mac n cheese and Brussels sprout sides were not very good. We enjoyed our Salads though. We were just disappointed cause we spent nearly $200 and didn’t feel like the food quality lived up that expense.
My wife and I went to Perry’s for a nice quiet dinner date. The service was great. The atmosphere is great. We had The Perry’s Filet wrapped in bacon with crab and Asparagus. The Filets were tough and just not good cuts of meat. The crab was extremely fishy (and I love crab). The lobster bisque was good, but not great.
Our last meal at Perry’s was similar. We decided to give it another try, and it just wasn’t great this time either.
For the money, there are many other great steak houses in Houston that are much more consistent.
My experience was rather disappointing. I had gone here with my wife for our anniversary. The food was OK but far too greasy and fatty for $50+ a person. The best thing about the entire experience was the $10 dessert, which should’ve been comp’d. Anniversaries come but once a year; I doubt I will waste another at this restaurant.
Unfortunately they decided they would be training a new chef the weekend before Valentine’s Day. It was the one and only negative dining experience we have ever had here. Unfortunately they’ve set the bar so high, they can’t have any set backs. The service was mediocre at best. My wife’s steak came out rare, she ordered medium. It was sent back (server explained they were training someone new). It came back rare again. My wife decided to eat it as we’d been waiting 20 extra minutes at this point. The manager noticed and paid for her steak. The other issue was the server took 20 mins to bring our drink order after we were seated. “Bartender was slow”. It’s just not something we’re accustomed to at this place, or anywhere at this price point.
Food was good. but the service was not. May be we got the wrong waiter. The waiter was not helpful and he did not explain the food when we asked questions. I have been to other Perry's location. this was not the case.
I noticed the waiter was being like that in adjacent table as well.
I was very disappointed by his way. It strikes me really bad for the money we spent.
We asked that our pork chop be split so that it would not be a big piece of meat. Last time, chef split pork chop by cutting sideways against the grain of the meat. This time, he cut off the rib bones and left one big piece of meat. When I tried to slice the big piece, it did not slice into slices like normal. It started shredding into slivers of pork. It was dry and in slivers, like pulled pork. I had to cut the slivers of meat because it would be a choking hazard. Our party of 3 were disappointed with our pork chop.We were not going to send it back for a re-do. We waited 4 months to be able to arrange our schedules to have lunch together. The previous time late last year, one of my guest and I had the pork chop split and they brought it out on 2 plates. We took the second plate home. We will give it another try because we enjoyed the previous times and the pork chop was excellent. But I guess we will have to be more specific about how to split/slice/cut the pork chop.
We had a dinner for two, booked for 7pm and used the valet parking. The tables ready for us, we walked tight in and the service was quick
Our server was Drew who was excellent throughout the meal. We ordered and shared the lump crab cakes, a lettuce wedge and the Chateaubriand plus a glass each of a Pinot Grigio and a Malbec.
The Crab cakes were excellent and well presented on hot plates, the wedge was fresh, looked and tasted good, had a wonderful light sauce and came with the Chateaubriand. We finished with coffee.
We had discussed with Drew, our server, how we would like the steak, and together with the chef, they got it exactly right. The entire meal was relaxed, excellent and very enjoyable. We appreciated that Drew checked with us several times during the meal. Our congratulations to her and the Steak chef that evening !
Although we shared all we ordered we found the portions satisfying, and just right, with out being too much. I found the light too dim to see the menu easily, but after ordering, the low light level made the evening more relaxed and pleasant. On leaving we appreciated the efficient valet car return service.
Although this was not a cheap meal, we enjoyed it immensely and will certainly return.
