Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
Overall the meal and dining experience was good, although not great as it had been in the past. My favorite appetizer is the asparagus with jumbo lump crabmeat and the garlic lemon butter sauce. It was served with very little, if any, of the sauce. We ordered another order for an entre with extra sauce on side. The sauce we got on the side was about all the sauce there was. In my view, the sauce really makes this dish special. I am not sure if the recipe has changed or if the sauce was just omitted. I suggest in the future the server ask if the customer wants the dish served with or without sauce. That would please everyone to their taste.
It was difficult getting to our table, because the tables are too close together and crowded.
Our Cesar salad had too much dressing.
Our pork chops were tasty, but extremely salty. One pork chop was very moist and the other was dry.
It was out first visit and we will not be returning.
This is the second consecutive time we’ve eaten at this place where the steaks were over salted, and a bit under cooked inside and over cooked (overly charred) on the outside.
It’s not that we don’t like salt, as we use salt on our steaks at home. It was just overwhelming.
I wanted to complain but my wife talked me out of it, as we didn’t have the time to go through the process of getting the meal replaced, and it was “date night” for us...complaining and so forth would have ruined the night for use.
End result, my wife tried to scrape it off the steak but didn’t work. It ended up with the dogs. I powered through mine.
I won’t go back for steaks, but drinks at the bar for sure.
We decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at Perry's on Tuesday evening. I mentioned the occasion when I made reservations and the staff greeted my wife with a great "Happy Birthday". Our waiter, Josh, was very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable with the food menu, drink menu, and wine list. He made some great recommendations and was attentive to our needs throughout the evening. The food was fantastic, I had the lamb chops and my wife had the prime rib. The chef came out to check on our food and how we enjoyed our choices. From the appetizers to the dessert, everything was first class and it was a night to remember. I highly recommend a dinner at Perry's when in San Antonio, for any occasion.
Oh my!!! I have missed you Perry's!
Pork Chop is still amazingly intimidating! Nothing negative to say about any of it. Our server Mark, made the night an experience & not a meal, thank you Mark!!! 100% all the way around 😉 (the only negative was valet parking, we don't do phones at dinner, so the text system was not effective for us)
The food at Perry's is always wonderful as is the atmosphere. Their pork chop is just
super with plenty to take home for another meal. Their steaks are also very, very
scrumptious. The service is also excellent. I would recommend this restaurant
to anyone, especially for a special occasion.
The atmosphere is elegant but not stuffy. Both cocktails were mixed well and great flavors. Service was fast, but never hurried. The waitstaff were truly professional and attentive. We split a large steak, and enjoyed every morsel. The Sriracha-Sweet Brussel Sprouts were as good as they get, and the roasted corn is special—sweet and crunchy. We did not save room for dessert. Great place for a date.
I made a reservation at Perry's THREE DAYS in advance for a birthday dinner for 8 people on Saturday night. When we arrived, we got the worst table in the dining room by the entry door, which they offer to walk-in people with no reservations. After my refusal to take that table, they offered to sit us in the bar. Really??? After some time waiting, we finally got a normal table. The food was delicious. Our waiter was friendly and polite. Despite the unpleasant start, we had a good time at Perry's.
Very crowded during Lunch and everyone was there to have the Friday famous pork chops
Too,45 min for food to arrive
Was dry they offered to give us a free pork chop which we declined
I believe it would be better to go at night for fine dining
Our table was right at kitchen my chair was bummed quite often by wait staff
