Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - San Antonio Ratings and Reviews
Went here with my wife for a belated Valentine’s Day dinner. Wasn’t really impressed with the quality of food for the price. She got the filet mignon and I got their famous pork chop. I tasted her filet and it was fine but could have gotten the same thing at another cheaper steakhouse. Pork chop was good and carved table side. We got 2 sides, whipped potatoes and the macaroni and cheese. Again, not impressed with either. I’ve had better macaroni and cheese at Panera. My wife got the Creme brûlée for dessert and said they burned the sugar on top a little bit. I got the chocolate peanut butter candy bar which was good and not too rich or heavy. However, the whipped cream was just cool whip. You would think a restaurant of this caliber would at least make their own whipped cream. We won’t be coming back unless it’s for the Friday lunch special. There are several other restaurants in the area in the same price range with far superior food quality.
We were seated for dinner. It took forever to get our drinks and then, when mine had a "floatie" of some kind in it, it took forever to get the replacement. It was very poor lighting where we were seated. And there was an odor to the whole restaurant that was very unappealing to me. My tuna entree was good and my husband's lamb chops were good. The nutty dessert was excellent. So, overall, the food was good but the service and ambiance less than desirable for the cost. So, it was not a good value for the money in my opinion.
A wonderful restaurant for very special occasions! The food was fantastic and the service impeccable! The only thing I would change would be the noise level, especially nearer the bar. We went with another couple and had difficulty hearing each other speak.
This being a second trip to Perry's I wanted to try something other than their awesome pork chops. Unfortunately their surf & turf pasta was a disappointment. The lobster was the size of a medium shrimp and the steak was two pieces (1 square inch each) of a very dry piece of beef; definitely didn't get the value for the cost.
The server, atmosphere, wind and cocktail lived up to the 4-5 star reputation, as did my date's pork chop, but don't go there if it's a good piece of beef or seafood you are hoping to get.
We went for Valentine’s Day, it was delicious. We had reservations for two and last minute our party turned into 4. The staff was kind and helped us with accommodating our party. The food was delicious. I had a Cesar salad with 16oz New York steak mash potatoes and veggies with dessert and wine it was amazingly delicious! The server Denney was very nice and attentive the entire staff was on top of our wine glass being full. It was a nice experience. The white chocolate cheese cake was delicious
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our Valentine’s Day evening dining at Perry’s. We love trying new places and were extemely satisfied and content with the service, meal, meal presentation, drinks, and set up. The lights were dim and they placed fresh rose pedals on the table. One of our favorite dining experiences! The only down fall was that our table was right outside the kitchen which meant we could hear almost everything going on in and around the kitchen.
I reserved a table for two for the Valentine evening and during my reservation I look at the menu and was satisfied with items available. After the arrival I was unaware when the waiter gave us the menu, it was only then that I realized they were not providing the full menu but just a small portion of it and excluding the price amount . At the amount of $80 per person seem to be overpriced being that the regular price during regular hours were much cheaper for the same entrée.
Usually a great place. Tonight was less than acceptable. The strip tonight was tough and unflavorful and we felt herded in and out as people celebrated Valentine’s Day.
In a restaurant of this caliber, expectations are high and tonight it failed to even come close to delivering. I will be changing plans for my upcoming business meals.
Reservations were met in a timely manner. .. big plus ... Our waiter (. Marcus ) was outstanding. He is an asset to your business. .. did have to send my wife’s steak back as it was a little undercooked. The Staff however made this not an issue.. They were polite and very accommodating .. Our dinner didn’t miss a beat because of it ... it was pretty noisy because a party close by. I had asked for a quiet table on my reservations.. But again it wasn’t anything that would keep make a bad evening... The menu and the service is always a good evening.there
Business dinner for 4. 6:30pm dinner most tables empty. gave us bad table noisy, near kitchen. had to be reseated. waiter kept intruding and was very loud throughout the meal. so not very subtle. appetizer for $50 was disappointing and very small, only one lobster tail in 7 tempura bites. One in the party ordered fish and he complained that it was too salty? My filet was overcooked at medium rare as compared to other known brand steakhouses. so nothing special. other sides were very plain. all very disappointing. the building and decor are very nice. the food and service were a let down.
This was our first and last time at Perry's. I ordered a mixed k-bob which included 4 ounces of filete mignon, a lobster tail and 2 jumbo shrimp. The lobster and shrimp were over cooked and I was only served half of a lobster tail, not an entire one. The menu description is rather deceptive regarding this.
My husbands filete mignon was charred on the outside. The food quality is certainly not worth the high end price. The server was friendly however the food itself did not merit any accolades. It was a disappointing dinner.
