            It would be good if they installed some noise absorbing things like barriers between booths or noise absorbing decor on the walls. It was so loud we really couldn’t hear each other talk or hear the waiter, but the food was fabulous and the service was great.

            Had an open table reservation at 7:00. Not sure why I waited 45 mins to be Sat. I can see 10 mins for a table with a rez, but 45 is excessive. This is the only negative experience I had at this visit. All the food was great! Service was great too. I’ll be back…eventually (I think).

            Save yourself frustration &$. Worst.Experience.Ever. They ran out of ice.(how??) so drinks were warm. Including cocktails. Ran out of lemonade also. Waited forever for service, server was nowhere to be found. When she finally came over, she asked if we were ready to see dessert menu. My answer was…. Um, we are still waiting for our food?? Food finally arrived. Soup was ice cold. Chicken was cold. Steak was overcooked. Husband needed a steak knife, asked the busboy for one…. We watched him turn the corner, take a dirty napkin from another customer, “clean” it with the stranger’s dirty napkin, and hand it to my husband. Ummm, what? No thank you. I did tell the manager this was beyond subpar service, and if someone where to ask me if I had a good experience, my answer is a firm “no”. They did take some $ off bill, but that wasn’t the point. We will NEVER return. Literally, terrible.

            Very crowded, Hostess seamed overwhelmed. Seating was fast. Waiter was wonderful. Appetizer came out cold. When we received the new order it did not have any taste. We did not receive a main course order, due to mixup with the kitchen. Apologies were given, but very disappointed.

            I chose to go to Perry’s for Father’s Day dinner with my wife and three of our daughters. I have dined at Perry’s probably a dozen times in the past, and have always had a good experience. But this time, I had one of the worse service experiences of my life. We had a 5:00 reservation, we arrived 10 minutes early, and we were taken to our table almost right away. So that part of the service was excellent. But it was a red flag to me that we were seated in the bar area. My experience with restaurants in general has been that the service in the bar seating areas is generally less stellar than the service that you receive in the main dining room. And that certainly happened to the extreme with this visit. It took quite awhile for a server to come over to our table. We ordered drinks and after that, the horrible experience began. We waited for 15 minutes or longer to get a lemonade and a Shirley Temple. After that, it took another 10-15 minutes to get the two martini flights that we ordered. We didn’t see our server anywhere in our area during the 30 minutes or so that we waited for drinks, so we couldn’t even ask him to check in the drinks. After that, we ordered our entrees. Our group had a couple of questions, and the server answered them promptly and to our satisfaction. So we placed our order. After about 40 minutes or so, I went to find our server. Again, he never checked on us during that entire time. I asked him to check on our order. After a moment, he said our order was next up to come out of the kitchen. About 10 minutes later, our food STARTED to arrive. Four of us got our food, but my daughter, who had ordered fried shrimp and French fries, did not. My other daughter who had ordered a ribeye medium, cut into her steak and it was medium well to well done. They replaced the steak, eventually, but no apology was offered. Terrible service, and it will be hard to return to this location. The Schaumburg location is still on my list though

            I took my dad here for Father’s Day. The food was great, the service was prompt, the atmosphere was good. We enjoyed ourselves and I will be back for the lunch specials.

            Everything about Perry’s is well-intended. The entire staff is nice, the quality of the ingredients is high, the ambiance is pleasant. Judging food is always subjective so I won’t be too critical on that topic other than to say that we unanimously agreed that everything was very salty (prime rib, prime ribeye steak, side of mushroom, side of asparagus, French onion soup). But the quality of the beef and other dishes is high and you can taste that quality. The meat was universally cooked to proper temperature. Where I think Perry’s falls short is in their refinement. Overall, there was nothing severe enough to necessarily discourage me from ever going back but I think that these are things worth noting. Small things should be ironed out to be on par with other restaurants of the same caliber. For example, the food runner shouldn’t need to ask diners who gets what dish. Not a big deal, but again, Perry’s is on the upscale end of the restaurant spectrum and the level of service should match accordingly. Additionally, the server or runner should make sure to make room on the table before setting down any additional courses. More than once did I need to move the bread or appetizers as the runner patiently held a plate hovering over the table waiting for me to clear a place for him to be able to set it down. Again, well-intended but shows inadequate training. Lastly, we shouldn’t have to reach and take delivery of our meal midair. Particularly when there’s room for servers to walk around the table and also because we have little idea how hot the plate might be. Other little details that comparable restaurants incorporate are giving the table a quick clean with a table crumber before the main entree is served and maybe again before the dessert or coffee/digestif. Again, none of this is a big deal but it speaks to a lack of refinement that Perry’s could and perhaps should have if it truly wants to be recognized among the many exemplary steak houses in Chicago.

            Harry’s did a nice job on the service side, (Leo was our waiter and was very pleasant.) the steaks were cooked the way we asked them to be. The sides were good. I wish they had baked potatoes, but they don’t. We’d go back.

            This was our first time at Perry’s Steakhouse. The ambience was beautiful. We enjoyed our dinner in the bar area, which was beautiful also! Loved the open area to the outdoor seating. Our steaks were amazing. Service was outstanding. We had Jameson for our server, and he was wonderful. Very attentive and super nice. We will definitely ask for him again! Can’t wait to go back to Perry’s.
