Perry's Steakhouse & Grille - Memorial City Ratings and Reviews
Originally I was going to give a mediocre score due to a mess up with the reservation that got us seated about 45 minutes after the reservation time; however the way Perry's dealt with the issue was excellent and it has secured my future business. My guess is that because it is the last Friday before Christmas there was a reservation system issue that hopefully they will address before next year. The Friday Lunch Pork Chop is the reason to go here for a Friday lunchtime, paired with the best french onion soup or caesar salad I think I have ever tasted. Added to that the selection of cocktails and mocktails is excellent. You can tell that today the staff were a little frazzled, the bar area was not available to seat people while they waited as diners had over flowed into this area and the reception area was jam packed with people waiting. The only thing Perry's generally, not just this location, need to do is fix their reservation system.
I've been to Perry's before but not this particular location. The food was really exquisite and the service was very good. I enjoyed the filet mignon with bacon marmalade and bleu, and we also had the fries and mushrooms on the side. I can't wait to visit again.
Very disappointed. Went for lunch on Dec 8, 2017 at 11:30am. It is my mom's favorite restaurant and we have had better experience during prior visits. She ordered Sea Bass which was excellent but very pricey - $44 for just the fish with some plain white rice. Other than that, everything else was mediocre to poor. The restaurant was so busy with the holiday lunch rush that the staff was overwhelmed. The valet service took 15 mins to even get to the car. Hostesses were overwhelmed and people had to wait in the lobby for ever to get seated. Fried Asparagus appetizer was almost burned (came out deep fried dark chocolate brown). Chopped Salad had too much dressing and the table-side dessert of sponge cake, strawberries and icecream was sub par -- ice cream was hard as ice, sponge cake was dry as a cookie and the white chocolate sauce was blah.
I took my fiancé here to surprise him for his 38th birthday. Neither one of us had been here before. All he wanted was steak and me in a dress and heels (which happens never). The whole day went off without a hitch as I never like dresses but I found the nicest dress and heels that were easy to find. Unfortunately, he stayed at work two hours late so we were late getting there. Our server was Myles and he was just the right amount of personable, humorous, and extra kind. We really enjoyed it. It made his day extra special and we tipped half of what our tab was because we kept him two hours after close. Very pleased. We will be back. Thank you!
Salmon, poor quality, like what you could get a Red Lobster, cooked well and had good flavor as far a prep. Arrived around 8:00 pm, weeknight, felt rushed through meal, waiter coming to clear table while some still dining. Pork chop good. Ordered flaming desert. Waited about 15 minutes for someone to prepare dessert, probably longer than the time before the waiter came to clear the table. For price and overall experience, much better places to dine. Will not be going back.
This was my first time at Perry's and only went because it was highly recommended by a friend. It was a fantastic experience; the waiter (Alex) was AWESOME. He answered all of our questions, was very prompt, and was pleasant throughout. The food was outstanding and the overall experience was one to remember. I highly recommend this location for sure!!! But don't go if you are trying to be cheap though!
Our meal was nothing short of fantastic - I can't imagine how it could be made better. We are saddened, however, that the wine tower that has always dominated the dining room and made all areas feel intimate, is being torn down. It created the atmosphere and added a unique elegance that will be difficult to replace.
There was inside construction going on...during the lunch service. It felt a little dirty and noisy. I was seated by the construction and the curtain wasn’t covering the entire construction area. Also I had written on my reservation that this was a 93rd Birthday celebration for my mother and the waiter did not know. I drove all the way from Austin Texas to take my mother to lunch there. Was somewhat disappointed.
One of our favorite restaurants. Love the specials! Food is great! Just a great place to celebrate
any occasion or just out for a meal! Can't beat the PORK CHOPS.
When asked, " where would you like to go for Dinner ?" (Birthdy, Anniversary , Holidays )
I respond ... Perry's Steakhouse !
We have eaten at Perry's many times, but I was very disappointed on this occasion. We both had the pork chop, but mine was 70% fat. It was challenging to find a bite that didn't include a glob of fat. I probably should have returned it, but the restaurant was very crowded. I appreciate Perry's honoring veterans, but I wish they would implement better quality control on their meats.
