Way overpriced for what we got I won’t be back
Very bad experience. Reserved a table for 7pm. Was my son and husbands birthday. Chaotic front of house, lots of staff, lots of customers, no tables! We were finally seated at 7.30pm. 30 minutes wait is a long time for a hungry nine year old. We were given a tiny table in the bar. The table was a poser table, clearly not intended for dining and certainly not big enough for three people. Call me old fashioned but I don’t think seating a child in a busy bar is appropriate. Lots of people standing close to our table drinking. Too much noise to hear anything our son said. My husband asked to move into the restaurant, which was after all where we had reserved a table. There was a free booth in restaurant but the staff refused to move us there as someone had reserved it. What about our reservation!!!! One member of staff finally admitted that they frequently over book which causes these problems. Apparently lots of people were being seated to their tables very late. Our son did not have a good time. Hardly ate anything and just wanted to leave. My husband at least enjoyed his pork chop and our sever was nice. I think the main issue here is poor management and a flawed over-booking system that delivers a bad customer experience. They also seem to care more about large group bookings. My husband does a lot of work dinners here. Never again! For any families, we strongly recommend avoiding this place.
We had a reservation for 12 and were not seated until 12:45. The entry was overcrowded with people waiting for tables. It was not a pleasant entry or enjoyable being crammed in such a small space with so many people. Most importantly, it was incredibly frustrating waiting 45 for our table which we reserved well in advance. We had to rush our meal and cut our visit short as it made me late to my next meeting. This seems to happen regularly here during the holidays and is rude to make people wait so long. Get a handle on your reservations and don’t overbook. Will not be coming back during holidays again.
I had a 11:45am reservation for two. I arrived at 11:40 and checked in. The hostess checked me in and told me to let her know when the second person in my party arrived. He arrived at 11:47am and I let her know that we were both there. At 12:05pm and the hostess had told me that we were second on the list. At 12:15pm, I had checked in with another hostess who had told me my table had already been seated. We were lost for words as we were both still standing there, 30 minutes after my reservation and apparently they had sat someone else down at my table reservation. Then at 12:17pm a manager came to seat us in the bar area, which is first come first served, not what I had requested, and sat us with no menus and no apologies. I’ve dined at this restaurant and dined at many other restaurants enough to know that this is not how you treat repeat patrons. I’m completely disappointed and hope that this does not happen to other patrons as well because if it does, you do not deserve our business.
Really nice restaurant
As always food was outstanding. Staff is incredible. Feel like a neighborhood restaurant! Absolutely love the place.
We always go on Thursday night to enjoy the piano player Scott Covington! He is fun and and such a great asset to the bar! Especially during the holidays!
Food was delicious as always !!! This time our only small issue was the service , our waitress brought all our food together even though we told her Salad first and we order a glass of rose and they served in a mimosa cup . In the Oder hand food was amazing!
Christmas lunch with friends
Appetizer: Seafood musshrooms. Very delicious and great presentation. After the appetizer was cleared from the table, all of my silverware was removed and was not replaced before my entree arrived. I had to ask for silverware after the entree arrived. Entree took longer than expected to arrive. Ordered the pork chop. The temperature was lukewarm, indicating it may have been neglected for some time after being removed from the cooking surface. The texture and consistency of the meat, along with the searing/candied outside of the meat was a lower quality than what I expected due to previous experiences at other locations where I received a higher quality product. At this location, nobody offered to cut the pork chop at the table as they do at other locations. When we were finished with our meal, our server was nowhere to be found. I asked someone for a check and they disappeared to find someone to help. My check did not arrive at the table for 5-10 minutes after I initially asked. Nobody offered desert. If the timing would have been more efficient, we would have ordered the Bananas Foster. I felt a little embaraased since I invited a surgeon I was meeting the first time for business to this location for lunch and time was of the essence. At other locations, I've ordered the same appetizer and entree and was able to take up only an hour of my guest's time. This visit took over an hour and a half. It wa not a "horrile" experience, but definitely did not live up to the expectation I had based on experiences at other locations. Highly likely I will avoid this location in the future.
Perry's overall was great! The food was good, but our server sucked. Unfortunately, that had an effect on the experience. He paid for it with a $5 tip on a $188 dollar ticket, that was really supposed to be $30.
The food was spectacular and our waiter was absolutely wonderful. He anticipated our every need (including candles for the birthday cake that we BROUGHT!) and was just so helpful and a professional. It was a lovely experience.
Pork chop Friday is the best lunch deal in Houston.
A wonderful evening at a super wonderful place! Always THE best!!
Alison was a great server and we really enjoyed our dinner!
We reserved a table for our anniversary expecting a really nice meal. The reservation process was fine, even whe we had to move it back fifteen minutes at the last minute and our table was ready when we arrived. There supposedly was valet service for parking but there were no valets around when we arrived, no signs indicating where the valet parking and self parking is so we parked in the garage behind the restaurant and walked over.
The table service was good and friendly. They made sure we had everything we needed but it was very difficult to hear our waiter and servers as the music was so loud. If you are looking for a quiet restaurant where you can carry on a conversation at a reasonable level, this isn’t it. I’m sure it confused the waiter that I had to keep speaking up for my husband because he can’t hear.
The food was the biggest problem. We were expecting something great and didn’t get it. Maybe the regular chef took the night off (it was Thanksgiving) and that’s why it was low - I don’t know. For the sake of the limited space provided I will just say that our food came out cold. We did not have a starter but I had Butternut squash soup which was the best thing about the meal and my husband had salad. He also had the turkey meal which he sent back because the turkey tasted like fish and everything was cold. I had the Filet Perry which was so overcooked even the bacon was burned but it was edible. We did have dessert to finish, both of which were good.
We never did have a manager stop by our table to ask about the sent back meal but they did have the wherewithal to remove the charge. It is unlikely that we will return or recommend this restaurant as it turned out to be rather mediocre somewhere on a par with Saltgrass although I would likely choose Saltgrass over Perry’s.
As perfect as always, thank you !!
We enjoyed a fabulous Thanksgiving meal. Two of us had the turkey meal, and one had steak. Everything we ate was delicious, the staff was very attentive , kind, and warm. It was perfect.
If I wanted overly dry turkey and mashed potatoes hard enough to be used as a weapon, served with a nasty, evasive attitude, I would have visited a family member and not paid $150.
We love Perry’s. Thanksgiving lunch was perfect.
We had a delicious classic Thanksgiving lunch and the restaurant was very responsive to my wife's allergies. I am thankful for a wonderful dining experience!
Everything was great- the only downfall was the wait time for our food. We ordered our food and took an hour to get to the table.
Best salmon in town! Also great service as always!
Our server was very good. The prices at Perry's are outrageous for what you get. The dining room is very loud. My wife's fish was over-salted and overcooked. This place is a terrible value for a "fine dining" experience.
We won't be back.....ever!
We went for the pork chop supper. The food was good minus a few hiccups (my martinis took forever and came without the fruit, soup was cold, sides didn't come out with the pork chops). Our server Ross was very nice and apologetic. He had them replace the soup however it took a while. The manager stopped by our table as well to apologize for the cold soup.
Poor table high traffic area
It was nice, but we had noice people nearby.
Always great food as amazing service
Server was not attentive and rude. She served us some attitude when we had ask for water for the 3rd time because she hadn’t brought it.
Great service and food. We were fortunate to have Sam as our waitress, she is outstanding.
An elegantl quiet haven a mid the cacophony of Memorial City and the Katy Freeway.
Came to Perry’s for lunch. Both my friend and I are low carbs and couldn’t have been happier with our meal. The bacon wrapped scallops were fabulous as was our salad and steaks.
One of my favorite restaurants.... food is just so damn tasty and service like we owned the place.
We took our granddaughter for her 21st birthday while out of town. Food and service does not compare to Hall’s chop house Charleston or Benjamin Prime of New York.
Desert was really good
I took my mother for her 95th birthday. She had a wittiness. Great service.
I was charged someone else’s bill and waited almost 30 minutes to get it squared away. Took a great experience to the opposite - Bummer
Great food and service
Wait staff subpar. And waiter hovered over me with electronic cc when time to tip.
Excellent food and service as always!
