Chef Jean-Georges brings relaxed elegance to the West Village with Perry St - awarded three stars by the New York Times.

Jean-Georges’ son, Cedric Vongerichten, helms the kitchen, creating dishes that reflect his own keen instinct for balancing flavor and texture with an exquisite blend of French, American, and Asian influences and ingredients. The menu is inspired by the season, centering on the local market at Union Square.

Overall is was a great evening with very good food and excellent ambiance.

The service was courteous and friendly. However, we found that attention to detail and coordination could have been improved. For example, dishes were served to the wrong parties, non-sparkling water was poured over sparkling, and bread was only offered once. We also found it odd, and somewhat disappointing, to learn after the fact that the most popular item on the dessert menu was sold out. Mentioning this when the dessert menus were handed out would have been the appropriate thing to do. However, on a good note, a birthday was well noted.

The food was very good, despite the fact that the tenderloin came in medium, instead of medium-rare. Again attention to details... There was also no vegetarian option on the entrees menu, and the proposed dish felt somewhat improvised. In our opinion, a New York restaurant of this caliber should have a well-planned, though-through vegetarian option, and have it available on the menu.

House sodas were really good and the staff was nice and friendly.

So generally, a great evening that could have benefitted from a tad more attention to detail.

Food was great. Service was a bit slow, but it was New Years day, so that is forgiven. Ambience was great and our group of 6 had a round table which is perfect for conversation. It was reserved for my birthday so I was a bit put off that the host did not want to give us the round table when we asked and she was a tad testy when we asked why we couldn't have it. But the food and bar fare were lovely.

The food was delicious, fried chicken, and the mushrooms were fantastic, I want to try and replicate the recipe at home!
Nice to be able to have a conversation without loud music or bad acoustics for a change. Lovely decor and atmosphere.
Our waitress was very helpful with the food descriptions, but her assistant was rushing and hovering, kept trying to take our plates while we were still eating. That is my only criticism, besides that it was a wonderful experience.

We had a very expensive steak for two and the quality was mediocre at best. The appetizers were much better and the wine great.

This was an incredible experience. The food was super delicious and the service just the perfect combination of attentive and relaxing.
