Serene, sophisticated, and quietly beautiful--this is Perry Street. I have eaten here several times over many years and now, more than ever, the restaurant seems a haven on the island of Manhattan. The cooking is centered and often surprising (the shrimp potstickers: brilliant!). Every dish pleased. Impeccable, friendly service that never intrudes. For the first time in a very long time, I noticed not one person on a smart phone in a NY restaurant. At Perry Street, you're next to the river on a perfectly quiet block; the interior slows the pulse; you can have a conversation here over an exquisite meal. There's no reason to take out a phone here except to throw it into the Hudson and enjoy the bliss.

The restaurant is beautiful and the food is beyond delicious, but the service was lacking to say the least. The waitress seemed to not care about her job or our table at all. She had a stiff attitude and we barely saw her. Our glasses were empty most of our meal, and everything was left half done. Been to this restaurant many times but this time the service seemed to be suffering.

This is my last time visiting this restaurant. My parents came to NY to visit and we are foreigners. I pointed to a $48 half bottle wine when I was ordering the wine. But the waitress presented me a $120 one. I never had these wine before and I didn’t know about the names of them either. When I got the check I saw the price difference. I asked the waitress what happened and the manager came told us that it was our fault not to look at the name of the wine. She said I should look at the wine carefully when the bottle was on the table and she did not apologize at all. I explained that we are not natives and we never had these two wine before; we are not sensitive with the wine names and we can’t tell the difference. She kept repeating that we should pay for what we consumed and we should look at the wine more carefully. But if the waitress could double confirm with the wine I ordered (cuz that’s a huge price difference), this would not happen. I am willing to pay for the wine but the manager’s attitude was just disrespectful.

We had guests in from UK. Their first Thanksgiving meal. Our party also included a wheelchair Aunt in her 80’s. The attention, services were beyond!!! The meal was unbelievably good. I will definitely be back with more friends and family....

This was my second time at the restaurant. Although it was a holiday, the pacing was excellent so the staff did not seem overwhelmed. The food was excellent. The sunlight at the end of the day was phenomenal. Great location! Lovely bar and attentive bar tenders.

The cuisine is exquisite, though some of the dishes tend to be little spicy. One of our steaks was a bit over cooked but there was no problem having it replaced. We have also had better steaks at other steakhouses (and at home). In fairness, though, this was the Thanksgiving prix fixe menu. Nonetheless, the chef’s creativity at Perry Street is not in doubt,

Dinner was excellent. Nearly every dish we tried was delicious and perfect. Only exception was the potato ravioli which accompanied the poached lobster - it was rather bland, and the pasta texture was not good. The menu had a nice range of options and we really enjoyed our dinner. Ambience is minimalistic, in a great way. Would definitely return here.

Worst service I can remember. Not offered a drink other than water for half an hour after we were seated. Waitress seemed preoccupied with computer and inattentive to guests. Food was fine but not as good as many comparably priced restaurants in the neighborhood. Wines by the glass were expensive given the miserly pours.

Quickly, The tuna appetizer was very good. The fried chicken and the Hake were exceptional. Drinks were good but nothing to write home about. Staff was friendly, waiter was a bit dull and couldn't really offer information regarding wine, appetizer..........and we didn't even bother asking for a dinner suggestion ha ha. Good food, probably would go back, but not any time soon.

I love the ambience at Perry St. It's elegant and civilized but not stuffy. The service is friendly and super capable. This time, I ordered the salmon and was asked how I wanted it cooked. I asked for it medium, not too wet. When it came it was pretty rare, wet, and not hot. I have generally had great meals here, but this one was disappointing. That said, I would still recommend it becasue it's usually better.

We came to Perry Street for a business dinner with colleagues. The ambiance is modern and elegant. The service was attentive and not obtrusive. The food was excellent - beautiful presentations, well prepared and simply delicious. We had the pleasure of speaking with the manager toward the end of the meal who provided nice insights into the seasonality of the menu and beyond. It was an excellent experience and we would certainly recommend and return.

We had a brunch on Sunday. The place is spacious and would be bright on sunny days, but was dark because it was a rainy day. We ordered taste of autumn menu, fried calamari and cheddar burger, fall salad and confit duck hush. Both had chocolate cake, fondin chocola to be precise. Fried calamari was really good and fall salad was good, but burger was too salty. The biggest disappointment was confit duck hush. It lacked taste and flavor. The service is OK, but the server forgot to bring another loaf of bread, so we had to remind the person. Overall, the price is reasonable. So if it is a sunny day, it is worthwhile going there.

I was there for my wife’s birthday. We had to wait almost an hour past our reservation for a table. It was not entirely the places fault. People paid and didn’t want to leave. But the place made up for it, free desert and appetizers. Food was delicious! People were friendly and very nice. Overall an excellent choice.

Dinner at Perry St. was truly sublime! It will go down (thus far) as the best meal I've had in 2017. The rice cracker encrusted tuna was simply amazing! The service was on point! Our waiter Henry was very informed about the menu, took his time answering our questions, and made overall fantastic food recommendations! I will dine again at Perry St. in the near future - no reason to wait for a special occasion; why deprive myself of such heavenly goodness and an overall phenomenal dining experience?!

First time but not my last time....loved loved it! Ordered from the prix fixe and very very worth it. I had the salmon and my friend had the tuna. Both were AMAZING but the tuna was outta this world. Just delicious and subtle. My main course was the winner - order the duck confit hash. Delicious! Desserts were good but honestly I could easily skip that. Another small taste would be better then a dessert, particularly at lunch time. But I say this about every prix fixe meal I have eaten.
The view is amazing. Right off the Westside Highway. Overall it is definitely a place I'd love to go back to.

Understated elegance
Perry St is a wonderful spot for delicious food and intimate ambience, set in a modern, spare space with outlook towards the Hudson River. Favorite restaurant in Manhattan for a special occasion. Lovely service by refined, discreet yet friendly staff. Lamb chops and beef were perfectly cooked, following a flavorful wild mushroom salad and a nicely-spiced butternut squash soup. All in all a most enjoyable dinner experience and highly recommended.

Beautiful restaurant. Have been there before but this time we were a little disappointed with food served; the dishes were "missing something" to be at the level expected for this Venue, except that the Chef is using chili peppers thinly sliced in all the dishes. I cannot understand why nearly all restaurants are now serving "spicy" food. I have nothing against chilis and the likes but I cannot digest spicy food, and I am always faced with this situation. Not sure I will give another try. Service slow but adequate and professional.

We went for a special occasion.
We were given a nice table but we're ignored on a semi busy Friday night at 8:30
When we were finally acknowledged the hostess and matre'd did try and correct their oversight by bringing an extra appitiser (nice)
The food was good (black bass was a standout), appetizers and lobster entree were solid yet uninspired.
Especially annoying was the 3 oz glasses of wine for $16 per glass
I doubt we will return
