I love the ambience at Perry St. It's elegant and civilized but not stuffy. The service is friendly and super capable. This time, I ordered the salmon and was asked how I wanted it cooked. I asked for it medium, not too wet. When it came it was pretty rare, wet, and not hot. I have generally had great meals here, but this one was disappointing. That said, I would still recommend it becasue it's usually better.

We came to Perry Street for a business dinner with colleagues. The ambiance is modern and elegant. The service was attentive and not obtrusive. The food was excellent - beautiful presentations, well prepared and simply delicious. We had the pleasure of speaking with the manager toward the end of the meal who provided nice insights into the seasonality of the menu and beyond. It was an excellent experience and we would certainly recommend and return.

We had a brunch on Sunday. The place is spacious and would be bright on sunny days, but was dark because it was a rainy day. We ordered taste of autumn menu, fried calamari and cheddar burger, fall salad and confit duck hush. Both had chocolate cake, fondin chocola to be precise. Fried calamari was really good and fall salad was good, but burger was too salty. The biggest disappointment was confit duck hush. It lacked taste and flavor. The service is OK, but the server forgot to bring another loaf of bread, so we had to remind the person. Overall, the price is reasonable. So if it is a sunny day, it is worthwhile going there.

Good food; location by Hudson Piers. Had it not been for the waitress, who was coming every 2-3 minutes at the beginning to ask if we're ready to order, services would have been good. Nice ambience!

I was there for my wife’s birthday. We had to wait almost an hour past our reservation for a table. It was not entirely the places fault. People paid and didn’t want to leave. But the place made up for it, free desert and appetizers. Food was delicious! People were friendly and very nice. Overall an excellent choice.

Dinner at Perry St. was truly sublime! It will go down (thus far) as the best meal I've had in 2017. The rice cracker encrusted tuna was simply amazing! The service was on point! Our waiter Henry was very informed about the menu, took his time answering our questions, and made overall fantastic food recommendations! I will dine again at Perry St. in the near future - no reason to wait for a special occasion; why deprive myself of such heavenly goodness and an overall phenomenal dining experience?!

But too fast. 6 minuters between starters and main courses is not enough.

First time but not my last time....loved loved it! Ordered from the prix fixe and very very worth it. I had the salmon and my friend had the tuna. Both were AMAZING but the tuna was outta this world. Just delicious and subtle. My main course was the winner - order the duck confit hash. Delicious! Desserts were good but honestly I could easily skip that. Another small taste would be better then a dessert, particularly at lunch time. But I say this about every prix fixe meal I have eaten.
The view is amazing. Right off the Westside Highway. Overall it is definitely a place I'd love to go back to.

Food was great, as always. We got seated in an odd location squeezed in between two large groups, but I should have asked to be moved. Server was a bit stiff - a little overly formal for my taste. Love the restaurant, though.

Understated elegance
Perry St is a wonderful spot for delicious food and intimate ambience, set in a modern, spare space with outlook towards the Hudson River. Favorite restaurant in Manhattan for a special occasion. Lovely service by refined, discreet yet friendly staff. Lamb chops and beef were perfectly cooked, following a flavorful wild mushroom salad and a nicely-spiced butternut squash soup. All in all a most enjoyable dinner experience and highly recommended.

Beautiful restaurant. Have been there before but this time we were a little disappointed with food served; the dishes were "missing something" to be at the level expected for this Venue, except that the Chef is using chili peppers thinly sliced in all the dishes. I cannot understand why nearly all restaurants are now serving "spicy" food. I have nothing against chilis and the likes but I cannot digest spicy food, and I am always faced with this situation. Not sure I will give another try. Service slow but adequate and professional.

We went for a special occasion.
We were given a nice table but we're ignored on a semi busy Friday night at 8:30
When we were finally acknowledged the hostess and matre'd did try and correct their oversight by bringing an extra appitiser (nice)
The food was good (black bass was a standout), appetizers and lobster entree were solid yet uninspired.
Especially annoying was the 3 oz glasses of wine for $16 per glass
I doubt we will return

Great food in a beautiful setting. The brunch may be one of the best values in all of Manhattan. The service is very unrushed and relaxed though at times it can almost feel as if the staff has disappeared.

There was some sort of obvious major malfunction tonight. The staff was lovely, but clearly they were covering for some extinction-level event in the kitchen. We waited forever between apps and food and the gap only grew based on watching the growing exasperation of the table next to us who was sat a few minutes after we were. I literally never leave bad reviews, but I feel like the owner should be alerted to whatever his staff had to cover up for. It's not fair to the people on the floor. All the best.

Very happy I got to experience Perry St! Everybody was very accommodating, helpful and professional. Went for a business meal, we tried 3 appetizers that made us very happy (burrata, pumpkin soup and heirloom tomatoes) and moved to try the tuna and duck. The highlight was having the famous JGV molten chocolate cake... delicious!
If you have a special date and want to impress, this is a good spot. The place is nice and quiet allowing for conversation over great food.

From the warm welcoming greeting to the warm chocolate cake this was a delicious dining experience. We shared an appetizer which was split in two in the kitchen and beautifully presented. I brought my friend because she and I share a love for lamb chops and I had them here last June and they were the best I ever had in my life! She wholeheartedly agrees. I had the duck which was also delicious. I took the leftover duck and enjoyed it sliced in my salad the next day for lunch. Our waiter helped us select the best wine and he was very attentive and fun. Can’t wait to return!

Meal was excellent - the food and service were great. They did seat us in the very back of the restaurant next to the bathroom - despite having made this reservation a month in advance - which led to a loss of the overall ambience.

The food and ambiance were enjoyable, but the service ruined what would have otherwise been a great meal.

Our table was ignored for 30+ minutes after we received our dessert menus. We asked to have our desert orders taken 3 separate times and were ignored as the entire wait staff focused on a table of vips.

The experience made us feel underappreciated. I would not reccomend a restaurant that treats any customer in this manner to others.

Perry Street has never failed to deliver a perfect evening. The West Village riverfront ambiance is pure elegance. Restaurant is gorgeous in its spacious simplicity, blessedly round and large booths, and a comfortable quietness that cannot be beat anywhere in the City. Service is high quality, but not at all stuffy ... and the food is excellent.

Pricey, sure, but no regrets all the many times I celebrate family events here.

Don't forget the "side car" cocktail (gin/cucumber creation), crusted tuna appetizer (failing to disappoint for what must be a decade), and we just had astonishing lamb chops (brought in from New Zealand).
