Peroni Resto Bar Ratings and Reviews
The restaurant is average. As a group of approximately 10 people, we had to ask for water after spending more than 30 minutes at our table. The staff is friendly. For a Friday night, it was pretty empty so there weren't much noise outside from what our group was making. I would recommend for circumstances when there are no place at any restaurant in the neighborhood. I greatly appreciated that they followed up on my reservation.
Peroni's is a restaurant that is located in an historic building, in the centre of Montreal. Though a bit hidden from the mainstream, it was a great find. Food is reasonably priced and everything I have chosen is delicious! I have brought customers, friends and family to Peroni's and have always been satisfied. Even particular tastes are met.
Went after seeing Cirque du Soleil on a Sat, 3 adults and 2 children. Other reviews said that the restaurant is quiet on weekends but they were getting ready for a birthday party and maybe Christmas party as well. We were lucky, we ordered before the place was busy and the food came fast (maybe too fast depending your situation). My pizza was okay but the pastas everyone else ordered were good - honestly better than you would expect based on the decor. Servers were friendly and prompt but didn't hover. For a decent no-fuss meal it's a good choice.
Came here with some family to have a nice dinner on a Friday evening. The place is a bit hard to find unless you know where to look, since there was no server out front at the time. Once we got in things were nice. The atmosphere is pleasant, though there were only two other groups and one was fairly noisy. Understandable given the day of the week I suppose.
The food was quite good (though the bread was a bit tough) and our server did a good job...Up until it was time for us to leave. Our waitress seemed to never look our way or come close to our table despite us politely trying to get her attention. It took a solid 10 minutes just to get the bill, and someone had to go fetch her for it.
I couldn't say if she was distracted or we were a lower priority (we did see the other larger groups get more attention), but given there were two waitresses and only three occupied tables in the restaurant (and maybe three outside), I would have expected more attentive service.
That aside however, it was overall still a good meal.
PS Going to the washroom in the place is an adventure. It's so far out of the place I thought I was leaving the restaurant! :P
Peroni's is in a beautiful old office building and I am sure that workers lunch there on a regular basis. But others don't seem to have discovered this restaurant which is not noticeable from the street. The staff was very attentive (but then there were only 3 other people in the restaurant!) and the food was excellent. The table set up indicated that they expect large groups - at lunch I would say. The food was really good - but typical of an upscale bar and grill.
What I ordered was ok not more than that. There is a good wine selection at an honest price. Unfortunately there was mistakes in our bills and she had to reissue it. The lady seemed to be impatient at some point which it surprised me. We were happy to see that when she came back her smile came back too. Then we have paid and stayed furthermore. She came back with another bill - she forgot to charge 2 coffees. After a small confusion we paid and moved on. Not sure if I will go back again by my own decision.
We were 5 women (youngest 45, oldest 53). While we look great and younger for our ages (lol), I wouldn't have expected the waitress to address with "girls".
And this happened 3 times, not just once : "Hello, girls" "Did we make your choice, girls?", "Did you enjoy the meals, girls?"
I sincerely believe that "ladies" would have been a more appropriate word; for any age of the female clients, not just for those over 4
