Food was delicious however the service was terrible. The was one waitress to handle the entire restaurant. Felt bad for her, she was doing the best she could to accommodate everyone. Slow to get our food but the food was delicious when we did get it.
They were way understaffed. Steak was cold when it finally came after about 1 hour of waiting.
We figured out why nobody was there!
Valentines dinner. Great food. Not the best service. Noise level was perfect. Will probably go back.
Food was not worth the cost. Service was slow. It took the server 20 minutes to greet us. We will not return. 5 star prices 1 star food and service.
We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged. Finally, I waved down the hostess to ask her how we could get service. The hostess brought water. After 20 minutes of waiting for a server we just left. It felt very much like we were not welcome there.
I’ll be sure to share this experience with friends and family!
If I was staying at the Stoneleigh, I wouldn't be disappointed in this hotel restaurant. But it's not one I'd go out of my way for. Everything is "fine."
We tried this restaurant as part of a Travelzoo promotion. The deal is actually quite good as it allows you to try pretty much most of the menu with the exception of a few higher priced items. You can pay the difference if you want to try one of those. The roasted carrots and the hangar steak were quite tasty. Tee and Vidoosha took good care of us during dinner. The ambiance is lacking though. The lights are too bright and the place has a ‘hotel restaurant’ feel more than a regular restaurant. Maybe some dimmer lights and music would help it have more of a welcoming vibe. Thanks for letting us try you out.
We went here with a travel zoo coupon. The food temperature was inconsistent. I order the meatballs as an appetizer and they were warm, but not hot. My husband had the goat cheese which was hot. For main, I had the branzino which was very good. My husband had the lamb shank which was warm. It was tender and tasty, but not warm. We split the pecan pie for dessert which was very good and it was hot. There was one server working all tables (3 or 4 occupied). I am not inclined to want to go here again.
In Dallas, it is hard to find a restaurant that is not LOUD. Perle is a great place to enjoy a quiet, intimate dinner. Staff is incredible! They are very attentive and professional. Valet parking is provided via the Stoneleigh Hotel (another great reason). Food needs a little attention.
Maybe I was just very unlucky with this hotel and restaurant experience. But they are missing major steps of service. It was slow on the Saturday morning and you seat yourself. It was just two of us but 60% of the available seats were unset or dirty. We found a spot and sat down. Our server seemed unhappy and asked if we were eating the buffet or wanted to see a menu. We ordered coffee and had to ask for sweetener and were given a spoon to stir the cream. We used our knives. I ordered the yogurt and granola and a piece of banana bread. The yogurt bowl came out so messy and on the side was tiniest bowl of what tasted like nature valley granola I was blown away. I had to take a picture because I couldn't believe that's what they served. The banana bread came out cold and it looked grey and weird. I asked for it to be warmed up but it didn't help. My husbands avocado toast looked good though. I had maybe 2 bites of my meal but the server never noticed or simply didn't recognize a need for intervention. Anyway, just wasn't a fan. Maybe other services are better staffed or better supervised food quality. Don't plan to return.
Nice wait staff , not real attentive. Ordered a whisky that is $48 a bottle and they charged $19 a shot !?!.
Menu said fish dish ordered was grilled , it was baked. Quality and taste nothing special.
Horrible! Christmas, had a reservation, got seated 40 minutes late, and our food took so long to come that we left! Will never return, and we weren’t the only ones!
The server was very eager, but also very harried and disorganized, and botched taking my order - twice. I ordered chicken, got a subsequent request to confirm I was having trout, and although I reiterated chicken, when the food came to the table my plate was.....trout. In correcting it the second time, my husband's plate was also taken away presumably to sit under a heat lamp while my order was prepared. It wasn't gone long, which suggests my order wasn't "prepared" so much as grabbed from somebody else's that was standing by. However, management was super apologetic, and went way beyond the call of duty in comping our whole meal, including soup/salad, entree, and dessert.
The food was very good and our waitress did an excellent job
Great place. We skipped the buffet and ordered off the menu. It came out quick and perfect. The food was good and the service was excellent. Everything here at the hotel has been great
Understaffed bathrooms not working and music was too loud
Fantastic experience. Crab cake was phenomenal and the service spot on and friendly. Will absolutely go back.
We had a great evening, celebrating our anniversary. The staff were great. The food was very good and offered us a glass of champagne. Very nice.
My wife and Made breakfast reservations though OpenTable to meet our daughter and son-in-law since they were staying at the same hotel. Once we arrived there there was no hostess to seat us so we seated our selves and text our daughter we were at the restaurant. After a few minutes we weren’t waited on. I called the front desk to let them know I made reservations through OpenTable and we had to seat ourselves and that there’s no servers attend us....the said they will get someone on it.
They sent a busboy to get our drinks...we ordered coffee and the busboy came back with coffee in dirty coffee cups! We had to have bring us clean coffee cups....finally I sever came and took our orders....the food was excellent!
Incredible attention to and service to customers. Gracious and friendly. Elegant setting.
I don't know how we had never found this place before. But the service is incredible. The host and the server both were very friendly and quick to help with anything asked for. The food was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked.
One funny thing is that the bar had a live singer, and we could hear him in the restaurant as well. The poor guy just was not very good at hitting the high notes, but he kept singing songs that have them. At first we just kept it to ourselves, but after awhile it was clear that everyone in the restaurant was noticing the same thing. At one point, the entire places was smiling at each other and quietly laughing. It was definitely entertaining, but not for the reasons intended.
We will definitely be going back. This place is great!
Customer service was amazing, and food great! Had a nice private feel for a Sunday brunch.
The staff was courteous but were struggling with computer issues. There was a large party having fun but they were quite loud. I got biscuits and gravy and probably shouldn't order biscuits and gravy outside the Southeast.
Service was impeccable, both our waiter as well as Manuel were so attentive, and the food was great!
Ok, it’s in the Meridian Hotel (Stoneleigh) so didn’t know what to expect. We had 7:30 reservations and were the only table in the small restaurant until at 10:00 a table of 4 sat down for desert n coffee.
Our appetizers were good , whitefish spread n chips n pasta were good. It took quite a long time to get our entrees considering we were the ONIY table there.
Overall was good but like most of Dallas dining not great!!!
For these prices and type of food
Maybe a cloth table would help instead of the bare wood which was hard to clean during our meal.
All in all good, a little pricey and if you want a restaurant to have a good meal in excruciating quiet this is the one.
PS the bar at 10:00 had 1 person!!!!
At a recent brunch the ham on the eggs benedict was tough and sinewy. The orange juice was not fresh. The service was good. The maitre d' seemed overwhelmed - he told us that we would have to wait 10 minutes for a table even though several tablew ere empty. He said he had a big group coming. He reversed himself when I told him we had a reservation from Open Table.
Service was excellent but food
I really don’t know anything about the food. The place was half empty. We couldn’t get seated without asking someone at the waiter’s station. The table was dirty, even the centerpiece was filthy. No drink order taken after 15 minutes. I finally realized if the experience got any worse I’d be furious. So we got up and left.
I was disappointed with lunch. This restaurant claims French influences. I ordered a CROQUE MONSIEUR. Basically all I got was a cold toasted ham sandwich with a cream sauce that looked like Elmer’s glue. See the pictures below of what I got and compare the picture of a real CROQUE MONSIEUR. The only saving grace of the lunch was the small frisée salad that accompanied the sandwich.
I will not return. Which is a shame because the hotel area where restaurant is located is nice.
We're enjoyed a great dinner here during restaurant week. Our server "T" was amazing... Very attentive, engaging and provided good input on our questions regarding the menu. Highly recommend... The lamb and trout entrees were delicious!
The food and service manager served us tonight. Vidoosha made us feel like VIP. Food was great and big portion. She told me abt hotel history and tour too at the end of the dinner. It was an exceptional service and experience. i would definately go back with my friends again.
We had a wonderful experience at Perle on Maple and Tee was a fantastic server!
Hotel lobby was under construction and you could hear the noise in the restaurant. The restaurant feels like a Courtyard breakfast room as it looks out on the pool area and is open to the lobby and the meeting area where used paper coffee cups were stacked on top of the banquettes. Ended up leaving so I have no idea how the food is. The server was understanding as was the valet. However, it would have been nice if someone at the restaurant had warned of the noise and construction when confirming my reservation which I noted was for my wedding anniversary. Will not be going back.
We made a reservation to try this restaurant during restaurant week. We arrived and walked into the building to the LOUD sound of drills and other machinery. They are renovating in the lobby adjacent to the restaurant. No one was at the restaurant to greet us. We walked further back thinking that it would be quieter and we could find someone to seat us. We found a waiter that seated us around the corner. It is still very loud. He gave us the regular menu and we asked for the restaurant week menu. He came back later and told us he couldn't find it and would ask his supervisor. He then reappeared in the room and began moving tables and ignoring us. We last a few more minutes and then walked out and went to Al Biernat's where we had a delightful meal. Horrible experience!
Back to school lunch - Edgar our waiter was awesome and Sean the F&B Director was fantastic.
Dined out for Dallas Restaurant Week. The DRW menu was limited so my husband ordered off the regular menu while I tried the DRW menu. Food was yummy! They were a bit short-staffed for a Saturday night but the host, Manuel, was amazing and helped with service! We will be back to try more items :)
I had a wonderful experience. The restaurant had a great ambiance. Decor was very chic and elegant. Our host was very pleasant and friendly. He made us feel very welcome and also gave us a little history lesson on the hotel which made it even better. We asked to meet the chef to compliment him on the amazing polenta with lamb. The escargot was the best I ever had, and I have had a lot. Over all, I was very happy and pleasantly suprised with the service, cuisine and wonderful staff. Will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends.
I doubt I’ll make it back to this place. Too many other options close by.
