If you make a reservation in the middle of the afternoon (our reservation was at 3:30 p.m.) you will not get lunch or dinner. They have snacks instead, an "abreviated" menu that was not mentioned in their website. Had I known that's all that was available I would not have made the reservation. Snacks were ok at best

One of our favorite restaurants in Austin. Loved the oysters but you have to get the shells and cheese and the butterscotch custard for sure.

Been to Perla's a few times. Always slightly disappointed in the service. Food is good, not great. Wait staff. has never impressed. Always seems disinterested.

We went Christmas Eve. Masked and socially distanced because of Covid restrictions. Sat outside under the twinkling lights and it was magical! The BEST pozole I have ever had. And the sticky toffee dessert was amazing. Our fish entrees were great too, but oh that pozole ❤️

It’s been awhile since we have been to Perlas and it did not disappoint. Our Server, Rach G was awesome. She was so friendly and helpful by answering our questions about the menu. As for our food....it was delicious!!

This is my favorite restaurant in Austin simply because I love the ambiance on the patio. The food is delish! The service is great! The cocktails impeccable! I can come here alone and just people watch or have an intimate date with the hubby or a girlfriend. Sunday brunch is the ultimate!

We have been coming here since it opened. Great seafood, drinks and service. Always. Lovely staff who get it right.

In light of those compliments, it seems a little whiney to criticise the mignonette! But is our only complaint. Someone told the chef that the shallots only need to briefly visit the vinegar. That someone is alone in their opinion. In our opinion. Please leave the shallots in the mix!

For the Shallot Vinegar

Shallot Vinegar
300ml red wine vinegar
150g shallots, peeled & finely chopped

Mix all the ingredients together
NB For the shallot vinegar, it is important to splash out and buy the best quality red wine vinegar. It makes all the difference to the taste of the shallot vinegar. We use half red wine vinegar and half Forum’s solera aged Cabernet Sauvignon vinegar, which is available online and in specialist food stores such as Brindisa.

Always a solid meal, good service, and beautiful ambiance under the gorgeous tree on the patio with great people watching on SoCo. We got oysters (wonderful waiter recs!), grilled octopus, and curry chowder. Everyone loved it!

The food is quite pricey for what it is. It not as fresh as you might hope being seafood. But the very best part I will always go for is the raw oysters! Divine and the ahi tuna tostadas.

Our server was one of the best I’ve had in 14 years of Austin dining.

Fish quality and variety is completely lacking compared to what it used to be.

Perla's always is amazingly good! They were spectacular when we were there last. Food - amazing. Service - amazing. Good vibe - amazing! We sat inside this time because of the cool night. Always sat outside before. Now I know either has a great ambience! Don't miss this restaurant!
