Perla’s is the best upscale seafood experience you can have in Austin.
Great food and service
Still the best option on S Congress. The patio is simply the best spot for people watching.
food was great and waiter was really good. the food was different and great
Food was beautifully presented and very tasty, but overpriced. We acknowledge the fact that seafood is particularly expensive, but oysters should be priced according to size and taste; the salmon was excellent, but the redfish on a half shell was overpriced for the portion size.
Great light salad and old beer. Perfect for a warm Austin day. The service was friendly and efficient. Definitely worth a return visit
Outstanding once again. Drove in for the day from Dallas for business and stayed the night so we could go to Perla's. One of our favorite restaurants anywhere!!
Graduation Dinner. Great time, amazing oysters!
The food was excellent. We got the grilled octopus which was good but our least favorite of the meal. The oak grilled redfish on the half shell and the crispy gulf snapper were excellent. The crispy snapper was some of the best fish I have ever eaten. The brussel sprouts were also a very good side.
Excellent food, great selection, incredibly fresh Oysters and Service that is over the top excellent! Will never go wrong here.
Amazing birthday dinner! The ambiance is even almost just as good as the food! We got the sea food platter to share and I got the Lobster bucatini. The lobster portion was MORE than generous! Always love coming here for special occasions or a nice dinner out on the town!
Absolutely fabulous meal. Wanted something other than BBQ or Mexican.
Perla’s is one of our “go to” special restaurants. The service is always superb and the seafood is delicious. My only complaint is their very small non starch vegetable choices and only 2 salad choices, that is the reason we don’t come often.
I did not check the menu before arriving and did not realize there was a limited brunch menu on Sunday afternoon. Unfortunately, I did not care for the selections. The lobster omelette was fair and my guest's steak was OK.
I definitely will go back, but avoid Sunday brunch.
Food was really good! Customer service was on point! Will definitely go back.
I love Perla's, I've been befor. However, my boyfriend had not and it was just way too loud for a date for 2 people on a Saturday night. We could not conversate at all.
This was such an incredible meal. We had the best time eating here. My friend and I were in town from NYC and Dallas, respectively. She’s always skeptical of eating seafood in Texas because most of the state is landlocked, but wow. What an amazing meal. Would go back in a heartbeat and would recommend to anyone!
Good food and service
Great fish and oyster selection
Loved the ambiance. Get a table outside. Sun had not set yet so would be especially nice at night. Split the calamari, asparagus and lobster bucatini. All very delicious. Will visit again the next time I’m in Austin
Outstanding. Everything on the menu is unique and not found anywhere else
We drove 90 miles from San Antonio to have lunch at Perlas. When we arrived at 11:00 am we found out they were closed for a crawfish boil and beer. Sadly, we were extremely disappointed that we wasted our time not knowing through Open Table that the restaurant was closed for a social event.
Amazing as always!!
Perla's is always delicious with lots of very fresh seafood options. The last few visits there, however, we were seated and no waiter appeared for about 20 minutes the first time and 10 the second. That is just not good service. While the waiter was excellent after finally appearing, this leaves a poor first impression. I hope they will firm-up their service issue in the future, because it is a really good place to dine.
Octopus appetizer 10/10, Yukon gold cakes side 8/10, lobster bucatini 10/10, oyster selection by waitress 10/10
Perla's was wonderful, food was amazing and staff were great!
Very slow service compared to my other visits. My companion's oysters were served well before my gazpacho. Appetizers should come out together. Then, it was a long wait for our main courses. The service problem seemed to involve most of the dining room patrons, from what I could see and from what my companion could see. I did notice that, at least the oyster shucker was efficient, since oysters seemed to be served a lot faster than anything else.
It's a beautiful restaurant with seafood and a couple of steak options. The wait staff were very friendly, though the hostess at the front was very curt and not at all friendly when we asked if we could have a table outside, which it transpired in no uncertain terms we could not. It sort of spoiled the promise of the evening, though the food and atmosphere were lovely.
Awesome food and service. Can you say hush puppies instead of bread, oh ya!
Hands down a fantastic place for brunch. This place has a plate for any one (small or heavy). Though the outside patio is where you want to be, the inside dining is just as lovely and a lot cooler for hot days. Overall, a great place to put you in a good mood with great food.
Great food. Great location. Love it!
Reception on arrival and check in was couldn't be described as friendly or hospitable. The owners have put an obvious amount of effort into having a nice, attractive, upscale restaurant, not inexpensive, and you'd think they'd want their patrons to receive a warm and personable greeting to make the people who chose to dine with them feel welcome and appreciated. Several restaurant choices in Austin come immediately to mind where the reception on arrival would blow these people away. Service was satisfactory, but slow, nearly 10 minutes before a waiter appeared at our table after being seated by the indifferent hostess. Waiter was knowledgeable about the menu and friendly, and the food met expectations. The creole charbroiled oysters were exceptionally good.
Second time there, loved it both times, everything is fresh and delicious and the atmosphere is very lively. Highly recommend reservation or you will wait.
Everyone loved their meal. Drinks were good. Loved sitting outdoors (but no reservations taken for outdoor seating).
Delicious food every visit! Oysters are some of the best.
Food was decent, ambiance and patio are very nice. Would recommend for drinks and appetizers.
We were freezing. We had to eat with our coats. And nobody really care when we asked to lower the AC.
First off, if it’s good weather sit outside! Beautiful patio that is perfect for a nice outdoor meal. There are large trees covering the patio, which allows you to sit outside even when it gets a little bit hotter. I’ve only dined at Perlas once, and it was for brunch. Please please please get the eggs Florentine with a side of avocado, and the lobster roll. Our meal was quite expensive, but the food was very good. I had to knock down a couple stars for value just because most people don’t want to spend $35 on their brunch meal. Although, the food was superb and I will be returning! The french toast looks absolutely beautiful, but I have yet to try it.
