On Wednesdays and Sundays, Kamayan (eat-with-your-hands) dinner is served family style featuring traditional Filipino dishes at $40pp. For large parties, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Prix fixe Kamayan family style menu is a fun experience best suited towards those who aren’t too self conscious. Everything was pretty delicious including the starter pan de sel little bun. Other favourites included the garlic rice, the crispy fried pork belly, the sauce on the vegetables (so good, no idea what was in it!), also the chocolate coconut panna cotta dessert. Consider getting at least one set of silverware to filet the fish. Service was helpful and attentive, and we appreciated that the chef came out to drop off the food.
Amazing food. Slow service...so just sit back and enjoy!
Wednesday & Sundays Kamayan are my favorite! Thank you again for an incredible meal.
My second time doing the family style dinner, and it was every bit as amazing as the first time!
Very good food at a reasonable price. Beautiful atmosphere and exceptional service! Place is quite small so it can be very loud.
Second time going and even better then the first. And our first visit was amazing. Love the food and family style experience. Chef was table side just the right amount, which added to the experience. Highly recommend!
A lovely meal with the chef serving us... simply wonderful and an a mazing experience
Overall a great experience. Well prepared dishes and thoughtful, elevated Filipino menu. Friendly staff provided the direction needed to select a few dishes and ensured we were taken care of throughout our dinner.
It was just ok: nothing that great. Actually disappointed as we heard it was great. My meal: Mussels had no flavor at all and fish was definitely over cooked and, though served w nice presentation, didn’t taste flavorful. My husband had the Sisig which was like a runny hash (egg yolk) and the short rib which was good but not awesome.
Amazing as always. Easily one of the best restaurants in the city.
The food was amazing and the front of the house never disappoints. Carlo was amazing as always. I definitely recommend if you want to try something a little different and delicious!!
Food looked beautiful but nothing spectacular taste-wise. Portions very small. $17 for rice was ridiculous--tasted like the sticky rice I make at home. Octopus was fantastic but nothing else wowed our group.
The food was bland and overpriced - being that it was Filipino food, we were expecting it to be flavorful and tasty. My veggie dish tasted boiled with a watery sauce around it. My husband’s meat wasn’t seasoned. The $17 “garlic fried rice” tasted like plain white rice with oil poured over it. The best part about the meal was the bread, which was carefully rationed out lest we enjoyed our meal too much. Service and ambience was excellent, but I would have rather gone to a hole in the wall with crappy service and plastic table clothes but with amazing food for a good price. I was so disappointed, and if I were Filipino, I would have been downright ashamed. #bitternotsorry
Amazing! Food, experience, and service all exceeded our expectations!
Had a gift card so wanted to give it a try. Food was good and very flavorful however expensive and small portions. My mother in law is Filipino and I guess I'm spoiled with her cooking and having an abundance of food . Everything was a la cart, including rice which I found odd especially since this is a must have with Filipino meals. Staff very friendly and I liked the chef coming out to talk to customers. Not sure if I would go back, but would recommend for someone else to experience.
Perla is our favorite restaurant in Philadelphia... and maybe our favorite restaurant of all time. Do yourself a favor and enjoy Kamayan or their regular menu! You won’t be disappointed.
Good experience, very different and there was a lot of food, just a little greasy. Be prepared to eat and enjoy.
Really creative modern Filipino food, that was delicious.
We went for date night - our first time. Best meal we have had in a long time!! Loved the Brussels, pork belly, bone marrow rice, and pinakbet. The rice coconut cake with salted duck egg was amazing!!! Service was great. Our server was very sweet and attentive. The chef/ owner greeted us when we first arrived. It was pretty loud, but not the restaurants fault. Just some loud guests who don't know how to behave.
Incredible kamayan dinner. So unique. Amazing value. Perfectly executed food and service
Generous chef, great food, good fun
Family style dinner is a must have!
The food was okay, our service was terrible. Spent most of the date waiting, asking for basic necessities such as a spoon. Wouldn’t go back, was nothing worth talking about.
We had such a fun time here celebrating an anniversary. The food was amazing, from the garlicky rice to the roast chicken to the brussel sprouts and eggplant in coconut. I enjoyed eating with my hands, and got a wet napkin at the end. The chef chatted with us the whole time and is a really funny, down to earth dude, who seemed genuinely psyched to see everyone enjoying their meals. It was a TON of food - so prepare accordingly!
I really wanted to love this place, but it didn't happen. It was good, but I wasn't blown away. Interesting selection of dishes. A few dishes were outstanding, most were OK. Expected more flavors.
It's a small place, it wasn't full when we were there, but I can see how it can get loud. Not the place for a romantic meal.
My suggestion is to improve the service. Nothing really bad happened. But it was a bit dry. Almost as if she didn't want to be there. No sense of humor. Oh, and our bill was big. So I guess I expected more.
This is 2nd time that We had their kamayan and the first time We really like the food especially for me a Filipino and their big portion that enough for 2. But last Sunday so disappointed that they downsize their portion. For paying $42.00 p/p I just gave the fish to my husband because it’s so small for 2 people and I had the BBQ chicken.
We had a fantastic experience. It was a special dinner for Mother’s Day and it did not disappoint! The food was delicious. Even though they were full with reservations, we did not feel rushed!!
This place. Man, I love it. I take people for the kamayan frequently, and it's worth it, every time. This visit had a boisterous birthday party who were pretty loud for such a small space, but once they left, it was just lovely. The food is just killer. And the chef is warm, welcoming-he makes the place feel like you've been invited into his home. A gem. Truly.
Perla is magic.
We had an incredible time at one of the Sunday family-style dinners. All the food was amazing and the portions were generous. It was a really fun meal.
We had the bass collar and the short rib and they were both amazing! Also don’t forget the bone marrow rice 🤤
Tasty and cute!
Cuisine unlike anything I've ever had before. The staff was friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the menu. In short, it was amazing. Chef Carlo came out to talk to us and that was very nice of him. I highly recommend Perla.
Did not know what to expect as this was a totally new cuisine for our party of 3. We eat out a good bit in Philly, eager to try new & different things. Can I give 10 stars? We allowed our server to guide us on courses & sharing. Her only mandate was “you must get the marrow.” Holy cow. Every dish💯❤️.
Came in after wedding cake tasting. We were looking to do a rehearsal dinner with Perla... trying to get our guest count down!! We had a great experience for date night! Thank you!
Family from out of town. Wanted to show them a memorable time. Very authentic and so much fun! Staff was very personable and pleasant to have around. Food was perfect and service was great.
I give Perla my highest recommendation in your ever in the South Philly area.l They easily accommodated our party of 9 on a busy Easter Sunday. The foods was plentiful and flavorful. A great combination of Filipino staples. Their Kamayan feast is a must do. I was apprehensive to eat with my hands but my family and I decided to fully go for it. One of the best restaurant I've been to in a while!
Menu is good for people who are willing to be adventurous! We took the waitress recommendations and were not disappointed! The chef came out to check on us and the staff took pride in the dishes. We had one of our best meals in Philly and would definitely go back!
Great experience. Food was excellent.
High quality and tasty food that really gives you a look into true filipino cuisine from my own experience eating home cooked filipino food. Really cute atmosphere, Chef was a delight to talk to and staff was pleasant and helpful.
Check it out for a new taste in Philly
