Terrific appetizer: curried prawns
Awesome entree: skirt steak
Beautiful presentations. Perfect service.
The most beautiful restaurant in San Juan.
It all makes for a perfect evening.
Great food and service in an elegant modern environment.
The ambience is beautiful and the service is fantastic. We both ordered salads with Serrano ham and olives. They were delicious with a light dressing. We each had one little slice of olive. We would have preferred more olives for sure, as a counterbalance to the heaviness of the ham. I had sea bass. It was good, but tasted fishy like it wasn’t exactly fresh. All of the fish I have eaten in Puerto Rico has tasted very fresh so I was surprised at this. The risotto was OK. My husband really liked his steak. We ordered dessert. The coconut custard was very bland and did not taste coconut. The apple cobbler was very good. It is an expensive restaurant and overall good, , but a few blips. The wines by the glass were wonderful.
Professional & Knowledge staff deliver impeccable white table cloth service.
Although our food was average, compared to past fresh seafood dining experiences, we enjoyed our time. The menu items were not exorbitant in cost, considering what we were served and how it was prepared. We had probably set our expectations too high based upon reviews online, as this was supposed to be our “fancy date dinner” while on vacation and it simply was just ok.
Very good service and variety of the menu. The taste of the food was excellent.
Three times in a row. This restaurant is fabulous. Each course is carefully prepared and presented. Shout out to Austin, Ricardo, and jousie. Hope to be back soon
Excellent food and service. I don't think there is a better restaurant in all of San Juan
Service from beginning to end was impeccable. Does was delicious. The lights were so bright for dinner service and took away any romantic vibe and the glare made it impossible to see the ocean. Beautiful decor. Overall good experience.
My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Perla. Our waiter (Ricardo) provided us outstanding service, explained the options and was very attentive during our meal. The serving of the different items in our meal was like clockwork and the food, including dessert, was exquisite.
We dined at Perla the evening of 11/16/18. Our experience was excellent! The food, the service, atmosphere, and ambiance exceeded our expectations. Our table for two was perfect, overlooking the water, and beach. Unfortunately due to hurricane damage the reflecting pool was drained. However this was a minor detraction compared to the overall experience. We had the Sea Bass and Dorado entrees and they were both excellent. The highlight and show stopper though is the architecture and Conch shell design of the structure itself. It is worth the trip to see! Two thumbs up!
Service and food were excellent. They even surprised us with a special note on our dessert for our anniversary. The view is also amazing
A visit to la Concha and specifically the clam shell-shaped restaurant has been on my bucket list. The initial impression is white tablecloth refinement. Don’t be surprised to find you dressed for a posh night out only to find patrons in swimwear complete with their towels draped over their shoulders being seated for dinner. Quite the turn-off.
Great views but otherwise it's pretend fine dining. Service unsophisticated and food OK but not great. The coconut cream desert was tasteless. Many better options in San Juan
Good service. Food was Just Ok. We expected some ‘WoW’ factor that never happened. Food portions extremely small for the $$. That was our first and last visit. Won’t recommend to our friends.
We love it!! We went for our 32 wedding anniversary!!The view the food was excellent!!!
Delicious food, great service, quiet enough. :) It's also a beautiful reataurant.
Just a wonderful gem within La Concha Hotel. The service and food was amazing with an outstanding presentation. Let’s not forget you are dining within a conch! Beautiful architecture!
Excellent service, great food and beautiful architecture. They could dim the lights just a pinch. Located in the fun and trendy La Concha Hotel in Condado, the restaurant allows for plenty of entertainment before and after dinner. The lobster is a must, as well as the pumpkin soup.
The menu we were offered was very limited and nothing like what was posted online. The portions were a bit small.
Iconic Perla at La Concha Resort in the Condado section of San Juan is still great! Beautiful mid century architecture and Murano chandeliers with delicious menu--try the Bacaulitos--lovely service and unique ambience....
Very great food and excellent, staff. The view is amazing and the overall set up was grand!
Love Perla for its iconic and historical appeal, and its personal significance to our family, but it's very pricey and the food is really just ok. Go for the inside ambience and time it so you can see the beach views, so an early dinner, 6/6:30 is best.
This is such a beautiful restaurant with delicious, immaculately-presented food, and top-notch service. The view is stunning. The ambiance is lovely, with just the right volume of music. The food is exquisite.
My husband and I hosted our wedding reception there six years ago. It’s still magical.
Amazing food, incredible environment
Javier was amazing!
The food was great, service outstanding and hihly personalized.
Excelent & memorable! Beautiful architecture & decor. Highly recommended
I cannot, in good conscience, recommend Perla. While the dining room was pretty, we expected far more from food and service at this price point. The salad was overdressed, the Caesar dressing tasted primarily of lemon, and it was served on a warm plate. The cauliflower soup was wonderful, rich and flavorful and the crumbled chorizo in it added a nice counterpoint. The butter for the yeast rolls was cold and rock hard. The truffle risotto was overcooked, mushy, and gummy, with no sign of the sauce created by properly cooking the rice. Truffle oil had been added with a miserly hand, leaving the dish basically a cheesy rice casserole and not a risotto. Both of our entrees were garnished with cold, doughy onion straws. My skirt steak with chimichurri came more medium than medium rare, but it was far more edible than the risotto.
We ordered the wine pairings with each course, and we had to inquire as to where our wine was for the first two courses (the wine properly arrived slightly before the dessert course). The wines, however, were excellent and served at the right temperatures.
As for desserts, my boca negra was delicious, while the carrot cake, a dessert renowned for its moistness was actually dry and crumbly with little to no carrot flavor.
All in all, if you’re planning to spend a few hundred dollars on a meal, you would be much better served by going to another restaurant. We came away deeply disappointed that we had spent our time, money, and anniversary night at Perla.
Excellent service, delicious food, and an outstanding view, by the beach. The Concha
/la perla restaurant its a beautiful place to eat. Quiet, romantic, with elegant taste.
Great a experience! Luis the bartender is the greatest!
Beautiful and classy. Nice for special occasions.
The food was good but the desserts were very poor.
The grande dame of Condado is showing its age.
We arrived to celebrate our 35the anniversary and another visit to Perla on May 26. Early arrival in a less than crowded was handled haphazardly and our occasion was not (ever) acknowledged throughout the evening. We were also left with an impression that young, inexperienced staff were recruited for cost savings by the operators of the venue 9it is not run by La Concha). Our cocktails were ordered first and never arrived by the time the appetizers arrived. My wife’s cocktail arrived and missed lime, a key ingredient, and only tasted of jalapeño. She returned it and and asked for a wine spritzer. Any guess when this simple combination arrived ? It was well after our entrees arrived ! No credit was offered and we were told that my wife’s cocktail cost the same as the spritzer so here was no need to credit it. Needles to say, this service cast such a dark shadow over our experience that our meal was clearly underwhelming.
We’ll not return on future visits and look to filling the void with a second night at Santaella.
The service was above and beyond! The food, ambience and staff just perfect.
I propose to my future wife in this restaurant and it was perfect! All the waiters were available to help with my plans for the night!
La comida tenia un sabor muy simple tuve que colocarle sal y pimienta para mejorar su sabor.
